ABOUTTHE INSTITUTE
Bhagalpur College of Engineering(B.C.E), Bhagalpur was set up by the
Department Of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar in the
year 1960 with a view to providing efficient system of
technical education in Bihar. Earlier, the affiliation was under
Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) Bhagalpur, BIHAR which
was later passed on to Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna
which was established by the government of Bihar, under Bihar Act 24,
2008. BCE is administered by the Department of Science and
Technology under the guidance of the government of Bihar. Since the
inception of this seat of learning, it has moved ahead with the singular
aim of training the students in the field of science and technology, not
only the theoretical instructions scattered in hundreds of engineering
books but also the pragmatic, down-to-earth practical solutions of the
innumerable Engineering problems faced by the working technocrats in
various Industries, R&D cells and Govt. departments. About 5000
Alumni, contributing to the cause of science and technology in India
and abroad in many important capacities, speak of the glorious tradition
of B.C.E the justification that quantity dulls the edge of quality and at
least so the B.C.E. The institute offers full-time Bachelor of
Technology (B.Tech) degree programs in disciplines of science and
technology viz. Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics &
Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical
Engineering, Civil Engineering. From August 2019 session, M.Tech
course in Micro Electronics and VLSI Technology.

course contents ensure that BCE graduates are well
prepared to face any challenge posed by today’s
scenario.
Selection ProcessThe students have excellent educational background .
They have been selected for admission in the college
through the stringent admission test JEE Mains
conducted at national level.
Practical ExposureBCE believes in the importance of giving its students
extensive practical exposure alongside invaluable
academic inputs to ensure their holistic development.
This ensures a perfect mix of technical acumen and
academic intellect. Such exposure is provided by means
of Summer Internship, Workshops, Field Visits, Industry
Visits, Guest Lectures, and Live Projects. A four week
compulsory Summer Internship provides an opportunity
for students to apply academic knowledge to real time
technology related problems. Guest lectures provide
students with a chance to interact with representatives of
the technical world and learn about the latest
technology.

The Institute has a sprawling campus spread over 230
acres located near the bank of the holy river Ganga. The
building complex includes the Academic Complex,
Library, Computer Centre, Hostel, Mess, and the

with video conferencing facilities and faculty block. The
award winning architectural design of BCE’s building

COMPUTER CENTRE
The Computer Centre has hardware and software
resources that are capable of providing support for
diverse computing requirements. It has a number of
computers in Local Area Network (LAN), Internet
connectivity and has the state of the art Geographic
Information System (GIS) and image processing
facilities.

Technoiti is the annual techno-managerial festival of BCE, Bhagalpur. It is
an event where different student bodies coalesce and strive to develop an
ideal platform. Technoriti is known for organizing a wide range of events
that include competitions, exhibitions, lectures as well as workshops.
Various technical societies work tirelessly to make this event a grand
success every year.
UMANG
Umang, the annual cultural festival of BCE Bhagalpur is a cultural
extravaganza beyond words. Confluence is the coming together of free
spirits of like minded zealous youth and a celebration of culture of true
artistic genius. Its urge to deliver the maximum is what makes Umang one
of the most awaited cultural festival. Various students’ clubs work
relentlessly to make this event a grand success every year.

PLACEMENTCELL
Training and Placement Cell, BCE Bhagalpur conducts all recruitment related
activities of the institute. The placement team works tirelessly to ensure that top
notch opportunities are brought to the students & manages all interactions
between the visiting companies and the institute.
BCE Bhagalpur assures the best facilities and support possible to the recruiting
companies.
Auditorium and lecture halls fully equipped with latest multimedia and Wi-Fi
for pre-placement talks (PPTs), workshops etc.
Facility of tele-conferencing, video-conferencing and online interviews.
Seminar and conference rooms for group discussions and personal interviews.
Complete assistance by the student coordinators at each level of placement
process.
Highly motivated and experienced staff to synchronize the whole process.
The Placement Session begins in the month of August and
goesuptill Juneofthefollowingyear.
Invitations with the relevant information are sent to the
variousorganizationsbythePlacementCell.
Single Point of Contact (SPOC) is allotted to the
organization.
The details of the company are made available online to the students along
with other information furnished by the organization. Interested and eligible
students (as per the criteria specified by the company) show their
willingness to appear in the recruitment process of the organization by
registering with theTraining andPlacementCell ofthe institute.
PLACEMENTPROTOCOL
The verified databaseof all such students is shared with
the organization through the Single Point of Contact
(SPOC).
During campus recruitment, conducting of pre- placement
talks, tests, GDs, personal interviews etc. are coordinated
andmanagedbytheSPOCalloted tothecompany.
At the end, the organisation declares the list of the
nalofferseither on-campusorthroughe-mail.
The Training and Placement Cell also coordinates the signing of offer letters
bythestudentswhohavebeenselected.
PLACEMENTPROTOCOL
The Training and Placement Cell, hereby being referred as T&P
shall follow One Person One Job Policy, irrespective of the job
offered by an organization or the PPO (Pre Placement Offer)
offered via internship.
In case, the final result of an organization is awaited, the shortlisted
students shall continue to be eligible to appear in the upcoming
companies. Once the awaited result is received, the selected
students will not be allowed to appear further in the ongoing
process of the recruitment of any organization.
Visit of the organizations are being scheduled considering many
parameters like pay package, company profile, etc., but it may not
be feasible in all cases.
It is mandatory for the shortlisted students to attend the Pre-
Placement Talk (PPT) delivered by the company representatives. In
case the shortlisting has not been provided, all those students who
have given expression of interest have to attend the company PPT.
The students having one job offer, are eligible to appear in PSUs
only if 60% of the eligible students of the respective branch have
already been placed. If the first offer is in a PSU, the concerned
students will not be eligible for any other organization including
PSUs in the ongoing and further round(s) of placement drive.
T&P Cell allows Pool-Campus Drives only with the Institutes of
Repute.
