Introduction

Thank you for choosing Vello and congratulations on your new BG-C15 battery grip purchase. Enjoy the many benefits that a battery grip offers, such as extended shooting time and more control and comfort when shooting in a vertical (portrait) orientation. The Vello BG-C15 is compatible with the Canon T7i and 77D DSLR cameras. It accepts up to two Canon LP-E17 rechargeable batteries and offers an alternate shutter-release button.

Please read through this entire manual before using the BG-C15 battery grip.

Precautions1. The BG-C15 should be used only with compatible

devices specified in this manual.

2. Use only with the batteries and battery holders recommended in this manual.

3. If you notice smoke, noise, or an unusual smell from the battery pack, discontinue use immediately. Remove the batteries, and take the device to a Vello authorized reseller.

4. The battery level may not display properly if batteries are installed before mounting the grip.

5. Remove batteries from the grip when not in use.

6. Do not attempt to disassemble.

7. Avoid exposing this product to water or extreme humidity, and keep it in a dry, cool place.

8. Keep out of reach of children.

Attaching the Grip

1. Ensure that the camera power is turned off.

2. Turn the camera upside down, and open its battery chamber door. Pull gently at a 45° angle until the chamber door detaches.

3. Slide the camera battery chamber door into the BG-C15’s chamber door holder for safekeeping.

4. Insert the BG-C15’s power contacts into the camera’s battery chamber as shown. Make sure to align the camera’s tripod socket with the BG-C15’s mounting screw.

5. Rotate the locking wheel counterclockwise until it is firmly tightened.

6. Connect the shutter release cable from the cable release socket on the battery grip to the remote release port on the camera body.

Inserting Batteries

1. Twist the battery tray’s lock counterclockwise, and remove the battery tray from the grip.

2. Make sure the contacts for the batteries match the battery slot contacts of either side of the battery tray.

3. Insert the battery toward the con t a c t s , a nd i n between the locking flanges. Push down to lock the battery in place.

When removing the grip, turn off the camera power and remove the batteries.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the second battery.

5. Insert and lock the battery tray inside the battery grip.

Removing the Batteries

1. Twist the battery tray lock counterclockwise, and remove the battery tray from the grip.

2. Remove either battery by pulling up and lifting it out of the battery tray.

This VELLO product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. To obtain warranty coverage, contact the Vello Customer Service Department to obtain a return merchandise authorization (“RMA”) number, and return the defective product to Vello along with the RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the defective product is at the purchaser’s own risk and expense.
