BGD took on a huge

project this year for their social

responsibility. The Vita Nova Centre

in Springs, non-profit residential facility for

the mentally and physically challenged desperately

needed help. BGD took on this project to try and assist the

Centre to raise the funds they so desperately need with the

current economic situation the country is facing. We had so

much fun with the concept, design and planning of this event and

we are already busy planning fund raising events for next year.

Operation Hope Grows - “Where hope grows, miracles blossom”

was born. We attempted to break the Guinness World record

for the most people making hearts shaped hand gestures to

really focus on what it is to be mentally or physically challenged.

Even though we did not break the record the most memorable

part was when a boy was sitting in his wheel chair only holding

up one hand and made half a heart shape and a lady saw this

and went to him making the other half of the heart shape. That

brought the whole concept home with a feeling of gratefulness,

appreciation and unity.
