Our milieu
Reproduced with the permission of the authors: tpack model mishra and koehler 2006
- Alan November"We have inherited an organizational structure in which the teacher owns and manages the learning. This industrial model underestimates the natural curiosity of students to direct their own learning."

- Project-Based Learning
- Transformed her classroom space
Action research in 2013-2014Our objective: Finding out if my students were learning more with technology
one group with one group without(journals, post-tests, observations, interview, etc.)
-Results of this research: changes in my pedagogy
-Interactivity-CollaborationCommunication-Autonomy-Creativity-Critical thinking (reflexions)
-Autonomy (search by themselves, find themselves)
-Give freedom(they decide)
-Make them create and think
-Give opportunities to talk,to collaborate
-Differentiation(stronger and weaker)
- Requires strong organization
Big topic to research+Centersproposedby the teacher
Gave space to my studentswhere they can be engaged andlearn in action
-High tables (standing up)-Low tables (work on their knees)-Collaborative tables-Balls and moving chairs-Four low white boards (collaborative work)
-Concentration corner (individual)-Creative and arts corner (long table)-Technology corner(iPad, Green blinds)-Relaxing corner (books and couches)-Materials needed are always available
Use of technology+Projects based learning+Appropriate learning environnement=Significants learning and engaged students
How that works every day?
-What do you know?-What do you want to know?-List of projects-Centers are mandatory, others not-All the competencies-Choices for the students (order, team, oral presentation, etc.)-Google doc for daily check in-Google doc to register (oral)-Alone or by team-Always projects to put them in action
-List of appointments onthe board-Give-me-six! and 3-3-3-Mini-mes-Traditional teaching (clinics)-Traditional spelling tests, but at their own rhythm and level-Organize EXPOS to show WHAT WE NOW KNOW!

Collaborative Brainstorming and Discussion
Demonstrating Understanding in a Variety of Ways
"I am a lot more interactive. I like being able to visualize what other people think and see their way of presenting the topic."
"I can see the different steps my peers have taken to solve a problem."
"I feel more involved when I use the whiteboards. I also like it because I can easily connect and express my ideas with my peers. "It is more active than just sitting and typing on our iPads."
