The 31-year-old celebrity revealed how she gained 57lbs while carrying her daughter Blue Ivy, who was born in January, 2012.
“I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!” she told America's Shape magazine.
Beyonce stated: “I'm not a person that is naturally very thin. I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape.”
But she insisted women should embrace their differences and focus on health rather than the scales.
Beyonce was able to shed her excess weight by doing a lot of cardio dance workouts, which got her moving and sweating.

She revealed to the magazine that 80 percent of her post-baby weight loss was due to cutting back on food including her favorite, pasta.
“I ate a very low-calorie diet. I stayed away from red meat and ate a lot of fish, replaced pasta and rice with quinoa,” Beyonce said.
“I always have breakfast, say, scrambled egg whites, a vegetable smoothie, or whole-grain cereal with low-fat milk. For lunch and dinner, I eat a lot of fish and vegetables. And throughout the day, I try to stay hydrated.

“I always treat myself to one meal on Sundays when I can have whatever I want. Usually it’s pizza, which is my favorite indulgence,” she added.
