2. James 2:26[26] For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faithwithout works is dead. 3. 1 Peter 1:7 [7] so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than goldwhich is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to resultin praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 4. 2 Peter 2:20[20] For if, after they have escapedthe defilements of the world bythe knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are againentangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worsefor them than the first. 5. The Trojan Horse 6. 2 Peter 2:1 [1] But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there willalso be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructiveheresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swiftdestruction upon themselves. 7. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties, 10. 2 Peter 2:12 [12] But these, like unreasoninganimals, born as creatures ofinstinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have noknowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed, 11. Peters Description of the False Teachers 2) Greedy 12. 2 Peter 2:3[3] and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgmentfrom long ago is not idle, and theirdestruction is not asleep. 13. 2 Peter 2:15[15] forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the wayof Balaam, the son of Beor, who lovedthe wages of unrighteousness; 14. Peters Description of the False Teachers3) Sinful 15. 2 Peter 2:10[10] and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties, 16. 2 Peter 2:13-14 [13] suffering wrong as the wages ofdoing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They arestains and blemishes, reveling in theirdeceptions, as they carouse with you, [14] having eyes full of adultery thatnever cease from sin, enticingunstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children; 17. Peters Description of the False Teachers4) Persuasive 18. 2 Peter 2:2-3[2] Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of thetruth will be maligned; [3] and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgmentfrom long ago is not idle, andtheir destruction is not asleep. 19. 2 Peter 2:18-19 [18] For speaking out arrogantwords of vanity they entice byfleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error, 20. 2 Peter 2:18-19[19] promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves ofcorruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 21. Peters Description of the False Teachers5) Sentenced 22. 2 Peter 2:3[3] and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgmentfrom long ago is not idle, and theirdestruction is not asleep. 23. 2 Peter 2:9-10[9] then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and tokeep the unrighteous underpunishment for the day of judgment, [10] and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. 24. Every generation faces opposition to the truth. 25. 2 Timothy 4:2-3 [2] preach the word; be ready inseason and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 26. 2 Timothy 4:2-3 [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their earstickled, they will accumulate forthemselves teachers in accordanceto their own desires, 27.
