We are taking a special offering at each of our four services this weekend to help with the devastation from the earthquake, and aftershocks, in Nepal. We will be directing our dollars through Lutheran World Relief, a stel-lar relief organization that is usually the first to show up and the last to leave when disasters occur around the world.

POSITION OPENING: DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY Bethel has an immediate opening for Director of Youth Ministry. This posi-tion provides a leadership role in developing and implementing a compre-hensive ministry program for eighth through twelfth grade youth. The Direc-tor of Youth Ministry shall seek to foster Christian community through the building relationships with young people in a way that strengthens their com-mitment to the church and that grows their faith in Jesus Christ.

The candidate should have a passion for working with young people, an in-clusive spirit, a strong Christian faith and an ability to connect personally with a diverse group of youth. PLEASE SIGN UP BY TOMORROW FOR YOUNG AT HEART TRIP The Bethel Young at Heart group is excited to offer a new experience. That is a chance to visit with students on their last day of the college year. On Wednes-day, May 13, we will attend a short chapel service and then be given a student guided tour. The tour will include the Science Center, Boe Memorial Chapel, Buntrock Commons and the Library. Staff members will provide extra informa-tion and time for questions and answers. The spring season will showcase this beautiful campus on the edge of Northfield, MN. Following the tour, we will enjoy a buffet lunch in the King’s Dining Room in the Commons building.

The bus will leave from the Downtown campus promptly at 8:45 am and return immediately following lunch. The cost for the day is $16. Please sign up at the Downtown welcome center. WEDNESDAY OUTDOOR WORSHIP This summer’s WOW theme is Farmers Market: Fruit of the Spirit. Mark your calendars for the kick-off on Wednesday, June 10th! UGANDAN KIDS CHOIR COMING TO BETHEL! Plan now to be at Bethel for a very special night at the WOW service on Wednesday, June 17th at 6:30 pm, as we host the Ugandan Kids Choir! They are 10 children, ages 8-12 who are part of the ministry of Childcare Worldwide, a program designed to empower children in the developing world. These young ambassadors will share their music and talents and pure joy with you, as you hear more about their stories. They will wear handmade authentic African tribal clothing and play handmade drums, dance and sing. VIA DE CRISTO: WHAT IS IT?

It is a three-day spiritual renewal movement that over 50 Bethel mem-bers have experienced. Over 17,000 Lutheran Christians in the Metro area have attended. During each weekend, 15 rollos (lectures) are given, plus there are lots of fun activities. Most rollos are presented by lay people, five by pas-tors. It is very inspirational!!

You can pick up an application at either Bethel welcome center for this sum-mer’s sessions (to be held at St. Phillip’s Lutheran Church in Fridley, MN). Men’s weekend is June 4-7, women’s weekend, June 11-14.

There is no cost to attend. Meals are provided and attendees sleep at the host church. Bethel member, Steve Heilmann is assistant rector. Please call the Lewises, the Martinsons or the Heilmanns if you’d like to find out more about Via de Cristo.
