Don't stop now!

"Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; john 8:28-31"

Continue to be motivated by faith and in the knowledge of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

We have graduted while observing many test, trials, and tribulations. God has brought us a long way and has never left us alone. Now we must demonstrate to others how good He is.

The diploma indicates we passed that course as disciples. True disciples don't stop with a diploma, but they do continue.

Yours in Christ,Reverend Andrew L. Smith, Sr., Pastor

from the pastor's Desk

Greetings my brothers and sisters,

It is indeed a blessing and privilege to be able to have our Graduation/Summer Quarterly newsletter. First of all I would like to apologize for the lateness of the newsletter. Next, Congratulations to all of the graduates! May God continue to bless and keep you as you pursue the next step in your life. Finally, I want to wish a Happy Belated Father’s Day to all of the fathers. I pray that you enjoyed your special day. As we are beginning to enjoy the summer months, I want us to look around and think about God’s creation as we spend time outside. The summer season always includes many graduations and Father’s Day recognition.

Graduation is always a cause for celebration. People are moving from one place to the next step in their lives. We are filled with joy for each step that is taken on the way. Proverbs 4:5 says, “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline (turn away) from the words of my mouth.” King Solomon is giving wise advice to his son. He is telling his son listen to his teaching. He teaches him to hold on to those teachings while getting both understanding and wisdom from them. Always remember that secular education is important but Christian education is more beneficial for our lives. So while we follow our passions, walk our paths and live out our purposes, always keep God and His word first.

God is the Father that we can always count on! Father’s Day is a joyful time for many people. It can be a difficult day when your earthly father has passed away or was not a godly, present father. That is one of the reasons that a close walk with the Lord is so important. His word tells us, “ A father of the father-less, and a judge (defender) of the widows, is God in his holy habitation,” (Psalms 68;5) Whether we have had a godly father whom God has called home, an absent father or a father who was not a good father, we can always have God as our father. We can call on Him any anytime for whatever we need.

The ability to call on God at anytime is a blessing. In the summer season, we can take advantage of the opportunities to go out into creation and enjoy the blessing of warm days, flowers and all of the things around us that prove that our God is Good and that He is real. Summertime and God’s creation is a chance for us to witness to others about how the world began. We can tell them that the same Jesus Christ that died on the cross for our sins and rose on the third day is the same One who created the heavens and earth and sustains them now. We are told in Colossians 1:16-17 that, “For by him were all things created…And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Christ is the one who created and the one who keeps all things that He has created. Let us enjoy His creation this summer. As always, it is our desire to inform, enlighten and entertain you. Please let us know it there is more that we can do. May God continue to bless and keep you always. Yours in Christ,Sister Janice Stutts

The overall theme for this Summer Quarter is Toward A New Creation. What’s wrong with the Old Creation? And with that loaded question we will get our answers in the following les-sons.

Unit I: June 2016; the theme is Judgment and Salvation. First in line is The Day of the Lord 6/5/16 Zeph 1:4-6, 14-16, 2:3 is it the doom and gloom that many imagine it to be or is it just The Consequences of Disobedience 6/12/16 Zeph 3:1-8. As always there will be Joy for the Faithful 6/19/16 Zeph 3:9-14, 20.

Unit II: June 2016-July 2016; the theme is A World Gone Wrong something we know all to well. The first sign of AWGW, is when the world starts Ignoring God’s Clear Truth 6/26/16 Rom 1:18-23, 28-32 followed by Ignoring the Law’s Requirements 7/3/16 Rom 2:17-29. Why? You ask, is it because the world is Under Sin’s Power 7/10/16 Rom. 3:9-20. But, the world will be Set Right by Grace 7/17/16 Rom. 3:21-31.

Unit III: July 2016-Aug 2016; the theme is Life on God’s Terms. One of the most rewarding aspects of living on God’s terms is that it’s a life Not Without Hope 7/24/16 Rom 5:1-11 which is the reason we are Raised to New Life 7/31/16 Rom 6:1-4, 12-14, 20-23, with the security of being Safe in God’s Love 8/7/16 Rom 8:28-39 and the advantage of being Dependent on God’s Mercy 8/14/16 Rom. 9:6-18. Plus knowing that God is no shorter than His word it should be comforting to know that you are Grafted into the Promise 8/21/16 Rom. 11:11-24 and don't forget that Love Fulfills the Law 8/28/16 Matt. 22:35-40, Rom 12:1-2, 13:8-10. see you in sunday school!

let's go for a walk

Walking, one of the things to do in this world, that won't empty out your wallet. It's something you already know how to do, so you don't have to take a class or practice for hours before you hit the pavement. Let's look at some of the benefits of walking:

Walking improves circulation. It fights off heart dis-ease, brings up your heart rate, lowers blood pressure and strengthens your heart.

It can stop the loss of bone mass. 30 minutes of walking each day can reduce your risk of hip fractures by as much as 40 percent.

Walking lightens mood. Why? Walking releases natu-ral pain killing endorphins to the body – one of the emo-tional benefits of exercise.

Walking can lead to weight loss. A nice 30-minute walk at a brisk pace burns 200 calories. Over time, calo-ries burned can lead to pounds dropped.

Walking strengthens muscles. It tones your leg and abdominal muscles – and even arm muscles if you pump them as you walk.

Walking supports your joints. The majority of joint cartilage has no direct blood supply. Impact that comes from movement or compression, such as walking, “squishes” the cartilage, bringing oxygen and nutrients into the area. If you don’t walk, joints are deprived of life-giving fluid, which can speed deterioration.

Walking improves your breath. When walking, your breathing rate increases, causing oxygen to travel faster through bloodstream, helping to eliminate waste prod-ucts and improve your energy level and the ability to heal.

your health is now - bro. stephen greer

It's never to late to start developing healthy habits. Each quarter you will receive information on how to live a more healthy life.

Bro. Stephen Greer

Walking lowers Alzheimer’s risk. A study from the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville found that men between the ages of 71 and 93 who walked more than a quarter of a mile per day had half the incidence of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, compared to those who walked less.

Until Next Time

This recipe is so easy to make and it has powerful health benefits. Because of the gold-en color of its ingredients, which comes from the tumeric and honey, this amazing mixture is well known as “the golden mixture”.

This powerful mixture can be used for many diseases because it has strong antibiotic properties:• Beneficial for bacterial and viral infections • Boosts the immune system • Prevention of cancer.

The basic ingredients, honey and turmeric, are the reason why this mixture is so effective.

Turmeric and honey is the best anti-inflamma-tory, anti-bacterial and anti-cancer cure.

Also, the mixture can improve the red flora, and help with digestion. Probably the best thing is that it has no negative side effects.

RecipeIngredients:• 1 tablespoon turmeric• 100 g organic honey• Pinch of black pepper• 1 teaspoon lemon peel – grated• 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

the golDen mixture!

Since everyone has different medical needs, this information is not to take the place of your doctor's orders.

goD's meDicine cabinet Anything God made is better than anything man made

Each quarter we will be informing you of some natural ways to get and stay healthy. You may just find that if you use what is in GOD's medicine cabinet you will start to feel better and put your body on the road to the healthy way GOD intended it to func-tion.

Sis. Teresa Phillips

Preparation

First mix the vinegar, black pepper and turmeric in a bowl. Then, add the lemon peel and the honey. Mix the ingredients very well, until it is mixed well. Put the mixture in a glass bowl and keep the mix-ture in your fridge.

Take 1 tablespoon of the mixture every day, and for better results you should take it in the morning, if you want to prevent cancer, strengthen the immune system and improve the health.

If you get a cold, or you have problems with some other viral and bacterial infection, you will have to follow a different dosage.

The first 2 days you should eat ½ a teaspoon every hour,

the next 2 days you should take ½ a teaspoon every 2 hours

after 4 days you should take ½ a teaspoon 3 times every day until you feel better.

Also, it is very important to know the right usage of this golden mixture for best results.

When you put this mixture in your mouth, wait for a few seconds to dissolve it completely before you swallow it. Also, you shouldn’t drink anything a few minutes after consuming

You can take this mixture with your tea or break-fast. Put one teaspoon in your tea or spread the mixture on a piece of bread.

If you drink this mixture with your tea, have in mind that the tea should not be too hot, because it will lose its medicinal properties.

burgers! A good juicy burger is one of the reasons we love sum-mer. Burgers have many possibilities because they can be customized to our own liking. On hot days and warm nights we love to fire up the grill or BBQ, throw on the eat of our choice and commence to eating.

This quarter, we present two different kinds of burgers for our enjoyment. One is really decadent and should only be enjoyed on a cheat day. The other, while still a little different is more healthy. Enjoy!!!

summertime safety tips

Monitor the grill at all times. The aroma from a mouth-watering steak, hot dog or hamburger cooking on the grill can be nearly irresistible for pets. If your dog or cat jumps onto the grill, it could result in a seri-ous burn.

Don’t give your pet cooked bones. Besides being a choking hazard, if your pet chews cooked bones it can result in broken teeth, mouth injuries, intestinal block-age or perforation from the sharp bone splinters.

Dispose of trash properly. Be careful of items such as corn cobs, peach pits, the plastic or foil used to wrap meat, shish kabob skewers and other food debris which smells tasty to pets but can cause an intestinal blockage or perforation if ingested.

Be careful of the heat. Provide a shady place for your dog to rest as well as a bowl full of cool water. If your dog appears excessively hot or tired, give him a break inside to rest and cool off.

Avoid stomach upset. Let your dog snack on healthy treats such as fresh fruits and veggies (but avoid grapes, garlic and onions!) and limit the hot dogs, ham-burgers and other fatty meats.

Watch for other dangerous items. Keep items such as alcohol, insect repellent, charcoal, and lighter fluid safely out of your dog or cat’s reach.

Fireworks. The debris from fireworks may look safe, but can actually stay hot enough to burn a curious nose, mouth or paw for some time. Also, most fire-works contain dangerous chemicals that can cause a digestive upset or worse if ingested by your pet.

What should you do? Keep your dog or cat safely con-fined indoors until the fireworks are over. Clear away all fireworks debris by placeing them and “duds” in a bucket of water before placing in an outdoor trash can.
