BEST PRACTICES IN PADOVA
• Padova has a consolidated history in the themes of interest for the
project Cult-CreaTe:
• Audivisual: Zalabb.org, JoleFilm, Course in Cinematography at the
University of Padova, Film Commission
• Printing/libraries: Editoria del Santo (each religious order had its
own printing shop)
• Festivals: Fiera delle parole
• Music tourism: The piano was invented in Padova, well-established
music conservatory, organisation of large events by ZED
CHALLENGES OF THE DESTINATION
• Creation of two DMOs in the Padova province:
• DMO Thermae and Euganean Hills
• DMO Padova, including rural territories to the north and east of
the city
• Despite doubling of arrivals and overnight stays over a ten year
period, Padova faces difficulties in terms of organisation of the
destination and persistent fragmentation
• Risk of organsiation of its tourism offer led by international agencies
