Results from annual readers’ poll

Thank you for your votes! Another year has passed and the votes have been counted. After weeks of sorting, counting and verifying thousands of bal-lots in 180 categories, the 15th annual readers’ poll is complete.

Readers had two ways to vote for their favor ite businesses in 2009. Ballots were available at the Caller-Times’ Best of the Best Showcase in October at the American Bank Center and through ballots placed in six issues of the Caller-Times in September and October.

The top vote recipi-ent in each category has been selected as the Call-er-Times’ “Best of the Best #1.” The next high-est vote-getters have been named “Readers’ Choice” and are listed in alphabetical order.

We have added some new categories and elimi-nated some that did not get enough voter attention. Remember, Best of the Best winners are selected by our readers, not by the staff of the Caller-Times.

We are always looking for new and exciting cat-egories to add in next year’s contest.

We continue to take the necessary steps to dis-qualify “ballot stuffi ng” by businesses that try to win a particular category unfairly. It is important to remember that this is a “reader fun contest.” It does not have any bearing on the success of a business, nor does it have any endorsement by the Caller-Times. These are businesses that readers have chosen, and the results are fi nal. This is a readers’ poll for enter-tainment value and nothing else.

Each No. 1 business was given the opportunity to fi ll out a questionnaire and explain why they thought they were voted Best of the Best. Some businesses chose not to respond by our deadline. This section contains the names of winners in each category. We encourage you to support ALL businesses in the Cor-pus Christi area, not just the winners in this section.
