The city of Las Vegas—the eye candy of America, a playground for adrenaline junkies, and a fix for luxury seekers. The city of sin attracts all types of characters from all over the world to its bright lights and fantastical attractions with its overabundance of fun.
As one of the world’s most visited cities, Las Vegas is a place of infinite extravagance—day or night. All that have sold Las Vegas before know that premium gaming, unmatched shows and wild nightclubs are the well-known bells and whistles of this city’s famed nightlife, but daytime attractions, five-star restaurants and outdoor excursions are now drawing in more crowds than ever.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s 2010 Visitor Profile Study reported that visitor spending on non-gaming elements increased last year, while visitors going to paid attractions went up by nearly 20 percent. Meanwhile, the average per-trip spending on food and drink also increased, from $250 to $257, proving the Las Vegas market is well and thriving.
With glitzy, new events and scenester spots popping up all the time, the Las Vegas to-do list is truly never-ending. We’ve got the new go-to list for around-the-clock “best of” Las Vegas fun.
So whether your clients are traveling with family, coming to party or testing their luck in this casino capital, these hailed attractions are some of best Las Vegas has to offer—day or night.
DayWhile it’s no surprise that not all who visit Las Vegas venture outdoors while the sun is still up, it may shock some how much there actually is to do during the day. From award-winning golf courses and hiking trails located outside the city to decadent spas and, of course, the famed Las Vegas pool scene, daytime in this city is, surprisingly, hopping.
POOL PARTIESThe famous Las Vegas pool scene is hard to match—a place where the nightclub crowd comes for day. These “pool parties” are not what you remember as a child. With golden tans, sexy vibes and drinks aplenty, crowds dance to the pulse of poolside DJs. Which are the best? Well, that depends on your mood.
The most popular rundown includes the famed Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel, which is arguably the best pool party in town on Sundays; Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, which boasts a water park, beachside gaming and a laid-back vibe; Bare at The Mirage, where topless sunbathing and VIP service is standard; TAO Beach at The Venetian, hailed by the young party crowd; and MGM’s Wet Republic, wild on Saturdays with one of the largest European-style pools around. But, be sure to call ahead and have clients check-in early if they plan on sunbathing (or even sitting).
This season, M Resort is debuting its new Villaggio del Sole main pool deck with heated infinity pools, fully equipped cabanas and the upscale, adults-only DayDream pool. Both
sites will offer their fair share of parties over the course of the season, so keep this in mind when planning a poolside visit.
SPASAfter your clients enjoy a lively night on the Las Vegas Strip, rest and relaxation are just what the doctor ordered. Luckily, pampering is easily found at this city’s no-expense-spared luxury spas in just about every resort. With so many options it can be hard to choose which Zen den offers the most coveted facilities.
The award-winning Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The Venetian and The Palazzo is really one spa hard to beat. With the 69,000 square feet of pampering space and The Palazzo’s recently renovated SpaClub, these resorts can proudly boast one of the largest day spas in the world. Unique amenities include the 40-foot climbing wall, classrooms offering everything from nutrition lectures to salsa dancing lessons, signature treatments, such as the highly sought after Canyon Ranch Mango Sugar Glo Conditioning Body Scrub, and a renowned wellness center. And, The Palazzo side of the club offers unique wet spa options at its Aquavana suite.
While you really can’t go wrong booking any of Las Vegas’ spas, other facilities that top the list include the Bathhouse Spa at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, part of Spa Mandalay, and, as expected, the Bellagio Las Vegas Spa.

ADVENTUREMany forget that Las Vegas is a paradise nestled literally in the middle of the desert. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the city’s natural surroundings aid in outdoor adventures that are easily doable in half-day excursions for a little exercise and sightseeing before heading back to the slots.
Send clients to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, a 30-minute drive west of the Strip for some hiking and biking along its 13-mile scenic route through the area’s 500-million-year-old red hills. Visitors can also rock climb or take guided hikes while checking out some fascinating Native American carvings. Similarly, Valley of Fire State Park hosts 150-million-year-old rock formations and over 34,000 acres for hiking, located just an hour northeast of Las Vegas. Guided tours here showcase the unique Lost City Museum—an area of ancient Native American artifacts and art.
Another adventurous escape, which many travelers are surprised to even know exists, is Mount Charleston. Visitors can cool down from the Las Vegas sun as they ski the 12,000-foot mountain, horseback ride along its trails, or hunt in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. And before clients head back to the Strip, be sure they grab a bite at the Mount Charleston Lodge for an unmatched view.
INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCESLas Vegas’ educational activities range from museums to trueimmersive experiences in situations visitors cannot find elsewhere. But, traditional museums just wouldn’t be fitting for a place like Las Vegas.
What kind of history does this city have? Think lights. Thus, the Neon Museum was born. This junkyard—nicknamed the Boneyard—hosts approximately 150 vintage signs in its three-acre lot, but can only be visited by appointment. So, be sure to schedule this stop for clients ahead of time.
The second museum must-see is the Atomic Testing Museum, just a few minutes east of the Strip. This destination showcases the secret history of atomic activity in the state of Nevada. Guided tours are available, plus a simulation of an aboveground nuclear test—minus the radiation. Now through January 2012, the museum will debut its “Building Atomic Vegas” exhibit.
The newest attraction to hit the Strip is the Las Vegas Mob Experience, offered by Tropicana Las Vegas. Here, visitors can learn about organized crime figures and their contribution to Las Vegas sin with over 1,000 artifacts on display. But, if your clients are traveling with kids, gangsters might not be their thing, so send them to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Gardens to watch chocolate in the making.
CLUBS“Hitting the clubs” is an expression that cannot be fully grasped without a peek into Las Vegas nightlife. From exclusive tables and bottle service to sexy beats and crowded dance floors, the fun comes out when the lights go out at these one-of-a-kind hot spots.
Always the crowd pleaser is TAO at The Venetian. Between the private veiled booths, its trendy young crowd and the oversized Buddha statues, this club is the ultimate party scene. So, for younger clientele, suggest dressing to impress and popping in for a TAO-tini.
And while TAO’s scene is hard to match, JET at The Mirage is one dance floor that really does reign above the rest. Locals and visitors alike come here just to show off their moves to the rhythm of the multiple DJs playing across the club.
Soon to be new to the Las Vegas party scene is Bellagio’s Hyde Lounge, which is replacing the resort’s somewhat frumpy Fontana Bar. This 12,000-square-foot venue will begin construction in May, with a grand opening set for New Year’s Eve. Bellagio and SBE Entertainment are joining forces to provide an exclusive lounge until 10:00 pm that will then turn into a night-club, showcasing a unique mixology program. So, stay tuned.
DININGWith its award-winning chefs, decadent ambiances and top-of-the-line food, dinner in Las Vegas is hard to beat. Just when you think you’ve had the best meal of your life, a new dining option pops up, featuring pure palate delight.
The new kid on the block is STK at The Cosmopolitan, which brings, yet another, steakhouse to the Strip. This sexy spot, decked with a central bar and in-house DJ, puts a twist on classic American steaks. Just warn your clients of the wait, even with a reservation, as this place is in its new stages of popular.
This summer, Las Vegas will welcome James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Richard at Caesar’s Palace. Bringing his popular Washington, D.C. restaurant, Central 24/7, to the Strip, Richard will feature a specialty cocktail menu, full bar as well as signature dishes—in true Las Vegas style—24 hours a day.
For the night owls looking for an all-in-one experience, send them to LAVO Italian Restaurant & Nightclub at The Palazzo. This trendy joint is the latest from the creators of TAO Asian Bistro and offers delicious Italian cooking amid its alluring atmosphere. Tell clients to keep their eyes peeled for celebs as this hot spot sits below an award-winning nightclub.
GAMING Some say you can judge a good Las Vegas casino by the number of locals that play there—and when we say locals, we mean big shots. But, the casino capital of the world ranges in everything from high roller tables to slot filled rooms, sparing no cost when it comes to the fun of gaming.
For possibly the best gaming in Las Vegas, send clients to the Palms Casino. With the most popular poker room in town, the games go as fast as the drinks while regulars dominate the field. And for the rich and famous, Bobby’s Room at Bellagio’s casino ranks high—literally. Casual players should stand back as the pros deal in shocking stakes in an intimate space, filled with inspiration from poker greats.
But, if planning for mixed company of pros and first timers, send clients to Mandalay Bay Casino, where high rollers are just as easy to find as five-cent slots. And for the average Joe, MGM Grand offers an iconic place to deal in. As the largest Las Vegas casino, filled with over 3,500 slots and 165 game tables, adrenaline is kicked into overtime on this fun-filled floor.
For many, nighttime in Las Vegas is actually the start of their day. With uncountable hot spots and trendsetters on every block, the options for dining out, going out and staying out hold some of the top reviews in the city.
ENTERTAINMENTCirque du Soleil is everyone’s show of choice, as these performances are nothing short of spectacular. This spring and summer, guests can go behind the scenes of the raved about LOVE at The Mirage and “O” at Bellagio, with the new Cirque Insider Access package, provided by BestOfVegas.com. This pass includes a backstage tour and insider access where guests will enjoy the show from reserved seating, plus front-of-the-line concession passes. And after the show, guests will receive front-of-the-line VIP passes to either JET nightclub at The Mirage or The Bank nightclub at the Bellagio.
A celebrity favorite in Las Vegas is the big-time boxing matches at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. This high-energy sport excites the entire resort, while the 12,000-seat arena is one of the biggest parties found in town. But be sure to purchase tickets in advance for clients, as these hot seats are hard to come by. Plus, those that stick around for the after party might get to gamble alongside the fighters themselves.
The newest venue for some ring action is the Chelsea Ballroom at The Cosmopolitan. With a bit of a different vibe, VIP guests here are comfortably seated on sofas in a club-like setting—for a premium price, of course.

on authentic meatballs, or suggest popping frozen grapes
while lounging outdoors at the resort’s famous pools.
A simple stroll down the Strip will showcase the variety of
outdoor dining options, with premium people-watching
opportunities. Stripburger, outside of the Fashion Show mall,
is a centrally located crossroads for grabbing an afternoon
drink or a gourmet burger and fries.
And if your clients are looking for a little more action on their
vacation, arrange a Grand Canyon helicopter tour, a hike at the
majestic Red Rock Canyon or an excursion to the Hoover Dam.
But if the desert doesn’t do it for them, perhaps the lush
greens at the Wynn Golf Club will. Plus, they’ll love a day on
the course even more when it’s followed by a relaxing
massage at the indulgent spa at Wynn or an antipasto plate
in a private cabana at Encore’s Bartolotta restaurant.
And when the activity gets too hot to handle, your clients can
dive into the sparkling waters at Hard Rock’s newest pool,
overlooking an oasis of pools and cabanas. Or, they can
submerge themselves at the Golden Nugget and swim with
the sharks in a two-story waterslide and outdoor aquarium.
However your clients want to indulge, escape or get
active, Las Vegas offers a thousand ways to do it. Visit
LVCVA.com to learn more about booking Las Vegas.
Shopping ExtravaganzaVegas has long been known to feature high-end designer boutiques, but this town caters to shoppers on any budget.
