1885 Pai Chai HakDang founded by H. G. Appenzeller

1886 Reverend Henry G. Appenzeller inaugurated as the first dean

1886 Emperor Gojong endowed its name and a tablet on Pai Chai HakDang

Pai Chai College Program established(Depart. of English Language &

Literature, Depart. of Korean Language & Chinese Classics, Depart. of

1896 The Independence Daily published by Jae-pil Seo at Pai Chai HakDang

1920 Appenzeller the 2nd inaugurated as the fifth dean

1925Use of the name Pai Chai HakDang prohibited by the Japanese

1955 Mok-Dong Buildings constructed (Main Building, Kindergarten, Dormitory)

1956 Pai Chai College Establishment Committee formed

1971 Daejeon Child-Care Junior College renamed Daejeon Women's Junior College

1973 Obtained land in Doma-dong to construct new school buildings

1977Pai Chai HakDang Foundation merged with Daejeon Women's Junior College

B. Purpose / objective of Event Management Associate Degree

Event management associate degree is a program required for students who are currently

middle grade executives in tour event and festival industry and who wish to continue study.

Event management is event tour and festival management, and able to major event tour,

tour event marketing, tour event development project, tour event study methodology, tour

event management seminar, event festival sponsorship, event festival evaluation, festival and

social culture, tour event festival case analysis, tour event festival promotion in detail.

I. Practical event experience required

Tour · service industry which is receives attention as future high-added industry is making

new paradigm as a main growth engines of country. Also, as engine of economic growth

moves from tangible asset to intangible, concept of knowledge· information· creation is being

highly regarded. Under the premise that opportunity of new business and creation of

employment is driving force of economic growth, tour· service management area is

compared to golden goose, and it is growing to future-oriented/infinite continuous growth

industry. In this aspect, Korea also show the volition of focused promotion and development

of tour · service industry as a part of national strategic industry.

This major has object in producing high quality manager from education program about

academic knowledge and working required in tour and service industry area. Especially,

systematic education program with theory and practice to manage business such as tour

(medical), crewman (flight, railroad, cruise), theme park, silver industry, resort, cruise, casino,

traffic (transportation), distribution, culture (performance), finance, accommodation, dine out,

silver business, travel agency service company consulting is operated.
