VELscope: The TwoMinute Exam That Could Save             Your Life The VELscope Vx is LED Dental Inc.'s latest model release of the VELscope system. The

VELscope Vx is:

● cordless

● compact

● affordable – even for multiple operatories.

● The VELscope Vx is the most powerful tool available for assisting in the discovery of oral

abnormalities. The VELscope's distinctive bluespectrum light causes the soft tissues of

the mouth to naturally fluoresce. Healthy tissues fluoresce in distinctive patterns —

patterns that are visibly disrupted by trauma or disease. Using the VELscope, a wide

variety of oral abnormalities can be discovered — often before they're visible to the

unassisted eye.

● Discovering soft tissue abnormalities is particularly important in the fight against oral

cancer. Because the VELscope Vx assists in early detection, cancer can be caught before

it has time to spread, potentially saving lives through less invasive, more effective

treatment.

● Used on a regular basis, the VELscope Vx helps dental professionals find a wide variety of

softtissue abnormalities, allowing practices to aspire to an advanced level of patient care.

The VELscope Vx is:

● completely safe

● simple to use

● entire exam in about two minutes.

● simple to use

Occasionally, the VELscope system plays a crucial role in saving lives.

Why VELscope?

Page 3: Best Dental Technology in Cary NC

The VELscope system helps dental professionals visualize abnormalities in the mucosal tissues

of your lips, mouth and upper throat. In just two minutes, with no rinses, stains or discomfort, a

VELscope examination lets healthcare professionals improve their assessment of your overall

oral health.

Make sure that your mouth is as healthy as it can possibly be. The next time youvisit your dentist

or hygienist, ask for a VELscope exam.

How Does the VELscope Work?

The VELscope's blue light "excites" molecules (called "fluorophores") deep within the layers of

oral mucosal tissues. In turn, those fluorophores emit their own light (fluorescence), in shades of

green, yellow and red. The VELscope's proprietary filter makes fluorescence visualization

possible, by blocking reflected blue light, and by enhancing the contrast between normal and

abnormal tissue.

AMD Lasers How has laser dentistry impacted patient treatment?

Laser Dentistry has rapidly emerged with a new level of qualitycare for patients. Features like the

ability to performmore procedures in less time without sacrificing patient care and comfort are an

added advantage. A wide range of dental practice specialties and their patients benefit from laser

treatment. For instance, lasers can be used around metal crowns, on patients with pacemakers

and braces, on teeth with metal amalgams, and in procedures involving bone structure all with

few negative effects. Patients report that laser treatments are much gentler than those

administered with an electrosurge and result in little or no recession, swelling, less necrosis, and

a quicker postop healing process. Additionally, laser surgery is substantially less invasive

therefore generates less bleeding during the procedure. Lasers are predictable, precise and

produce a reduction in the need for suturing.

Computer Controlled Anasthesia For Patients

It is estimated that nearly 50% of the U.S. population, alone, experience some anxiety when

visiting the dentist. Moreover, 40 million Americans are termed “dental phobics,” persons with

Page 4: Best Dental Technology in Cary NC

such severe anxiety that they avoid dental care altogether. In fact, nearly 25% of all dental

appointments are canceled because of this phobia.

Are you dental phobic?

When it comes to going to the dentist, we at Milestone Scientific have got you in mind. For those

times when you might not look forward to that appointment, the STA Single Tooth Anesthesia

System® unit and TheWand® handpiece make the visit anxietyfree and more comfortable for you

and your family.

INTRAORAL Cameras Why Use Intraoral Camera?

Intraoral camera allows our patients to be actively involved with theirdental treatment. By having

our patients look at your monitor and clearly see the condition such as a cracked tooth, a broken

filling, plaque deposits or caries we greatly enhance our ability to help them understand why

treatment is being recommended. Intraoral camera greatly enhances our ability to provide thebest

dental care possible.

Video Glasses Video glasses make patient’s dental treatment enjoyable and relaxing.

DIGITAL XRAYS Digital radiography typically reduces radiation exposure by 75% or more. That means your

patients will notice a higher level of care when you use digital Xray equipment.
