Entries are open for classes 2 to 6 to both ponies (14.2hh and under) and horses, and riders of any age. Horses and ponies will jump concurrently but be judged separately. All classes will be 2 Phase. Classes 4, 5 and 6: Area 9 Pony Club members with a double clear will qualify for the Area 9 Show Jumping Championships on Sunday 10th September 2017 at Rectory Farm, Duntisbourne Abbots. Please ask the judge for a qualifier card.

Sunshine Tour Qualifiers The Sunshine Tour Championship is held at the most famous UK showground, The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, on 14th to 17th September 2017.

All clear round entries taken at the ring. Height of jumps will be adjusted according to riders’ requests.

Ring C Lead Rein and Very Novice Jumping Start Approx 11:30 AM Class 7 Lead Rein Jumping Riders 8 years and under. Fences 1’6” max. Entry fee £5. Rosettes to all. Class 8 Assisted Jumping off the Lead Rein Riders 10 years and under. Fences 1’6” in first round, increasing to 1’9” in jump off. Entry fee £5. Rosettes to 6th place. Class 9 Very Novice Jumping (unassisted) Riders 10 years and under. Fences 2’ max. Entry fee £5. Rosettes to 6th place.

All entries for classes 7 to 9 will be taken at the secretaries’ tent.

Hunter Classes – Start 9:30 AM Class 10 Ridden Hunter 15.2hh and over 4 years old and over.

Horses may be ridden in either a snaffle or a double bridle. Entry fee £8. Prizes: The Silver Fox Trophy & £12, £9, £8. Class 11 Ridden Small Hunter, exceeding 14.2hh but not

exceeding 15.2hh 4 years old and over. Entry fee £8. Prizes: £12, £9, £8.

The Horsley Challenge Cup will be awarded to the top placed horse owned and ridden by a rider living within a 10 mile radius of the showground.

Class 12 Working Hunter, exceeding 15hh 4 years old and over

To be judged 40% jumping performance, 20% jumping style, 40% ride and conformation. Fences not to exceed 3’. Entry fee £8. Prizes: Oliver Wythes Cup & £12, £9, £8.

Hunter Championship for horses placed 1st and 2nd in classes 10 – 12.

Aston Challenge Cup and Championship Rosettes. Class 13 Ridden Cob (trimmed or hairy) Judged on type and individual show.

The 1st and 2nd placed horse will qualify to compete at Lapworth Horse Show on Sunday 6th August in The Four Village Ridden Cob Championship. Qualification can also be gained at Hanbury Horse Show (Saturday July 1st), Inkberrow Horse Show (Saturday 8th July) and Lapworth Horse Show (Sunday 6th August)

Class 14 Best Riding Horse, exceeding 14.2hh 4 years old and over

For mares and geldings. To be judged 40% conformation, 40% ride and manners and 20% show.

Entry fee £8. Prizes: Elwell Cup & £12, £9, £8. Class 15 Racehorse to Riding Horse

All horses must have been in training at some time and registered with Wetherbys. They need not necessarily have raced. This showing class will be assessed on conformation, manners and way of going and horses will be ridden by the Ride Judge. The 1st and 2nd placed horse and rider will qualify to compete at Inkberrow Horse Show on Saturday 8th July for the Three Villages Trophy and £50. Qualification can also be secured at Hanbury Countryside Show on Saturday 1st July. Entry fee £10. Prizes: The Sean McGettigan Memorial Trophy & £15, £10, £7.

Class 16 Working Hunter Pony, not exceeding 13hh Ponies 4 years old and over (not to start before 2pm)

Fences not to exceed 1’9”. Entry fee £8. Prizes: Lady Walker Cup £12, £9, £8. Class 17 Sunshine Qualifier Working Hunter Pony, exceeding

13hh not exceeding 15hh. Ponies 4 years and over Fences not to exceed 2’3”.

Entry fee £8. Prizes: The Caroline Horsley Challenge Cup £12, £9, £8.

Class 19 Most Suitable Children’s Lead Rein Pony up to 12.2hh

Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before Jan. 1st 2017. Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead reins must be attached to the noseband and must not be removed in the ring. This class will be judged on the suitability of the pony for the child, behaviour and manners rather than conformation. Riders will be asked to walk and trot only. If competitors enter this class they may not enter classes 20 and 21. Entry fee £6. Prizes: The Simoon Challenge Bowl, prizes in kind and rosettes to all.

Class 20 Children’s Lead Rein Pony up to 12.2hh Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before Jan. 1st 2017.

Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead reins must be attached to the noseband. A short trot must be shown.

This class will be judged on manners and conformation. Entry fee £6. Prizes: The Rosemary Street Challenge Cup & £8, £7, £6.

Class 21 Child’s First Ridden Pony not exceeding 12.2hh Suitable for, and to be ridden by a child off the leading rein.

No cantering except for individual show (optional). Ponies to be shown in a snaffle bridle.

Entry fee £6. Prizes: The First Ridden Pony Cup and £8, £7, £6. Class 22 Show Hunter Pony not exceeding 15hh Entry fee £6. Prizes: The Dodderhill School Cup and £8, £7, £6. Class 23 Best Rider – 10 years and under Entry fee £6. Prizes: £8, £7, £6. Class 24 Best Rider – Over 10 years Entry fee £6. Prizes: The Phillipa Horsley Cup and £8, £7, £6. Class 25 Family Pony or Horse

Riders will be asked to give a short show including a small jump that may be altered at the discretion of the judge. To be judged on show, manners and suitability for the rider. Conformation not considered. Horses and ponies any height. Riders any age.

Entry fee £6. Prizes: The Grey-Cheape Cup, £8, £7 & £6. Rosettes to 6th place in classes 20 – 25.

Ring F Class 31 Sunshine Qualifier BD Introductory Test A Walk and Trot For riders of any age. For horses and ponies of any height. Class 32 BD Dressage Test Prelim 7 For riders of any age. For horses and ponies of any height. Class 33 BD Dressage Test Prelim 14 For riders of any age. For horses and ponies of any height.

Entry fees for Classes 31 - 33: £8. Rosettes to 6th place. Prizes £12, £9, £8. Entries close on 20th June 2017. Please provide a mobile number or email address on the entry form for dressage times. All tests may be called by your own assistant.

Gymkhana / Mounted Games – Start 2:30 PM

Races to include: Bending, Flag race, Mug race, Sock and Bucket race,

Ride and Run, Sweet race. 8 years and under lead rein 12 years and under Open

Entry fee £5 per block. Rosettes for 1st to 4th places.

Ring G

Handy Pony – 10:00 to 2:00 PM Entries at the ring. £2. Rosettes to 6th place. Riders may enter this class as many times as they wish. Although this class will be run concurrently, rosettes will be split into 2 sections; assisted and non-assisted.

For horses and ponies 18 years and over Entry fee £6. Prizes: £8, £7, £6. Class 36 Working Veteran. For horses and ponies 18 years and over To be shown ridden. Riders will be required to give a short show. Entry fee £6. Prizes: £8, £7, £6. Veteran Championship. For 1st or 2nd placed horses and ponies in Classes 35 & 36: the Oliver Twist Cup and Championship rosettes.

Ring H To assemble in the ring at 12:00 PM Class 37 Fancy Dress – mounted or un-mounted Riders any age. Horses and ponies any height. This will be judged in the Novelty Dog Racing ring at 12.00 pm Entry fee £5. Prizes: £7, £6, £5. Rosettes to all.

Novelty Dog Racing – Start 1:30 PM Class A – Terriers. 1st Prize – The John May Memorial Cup Class B – Small dogs Class C – Large dogs Entry fee £3. Entries taken at the ring.

General Conditions

1. The committee and the landowners accept no responsibility or liability

for any accident, damage, injury or illness to any person, animal or property whatsoever arising at or out of this show.

2. Correct riding dress (including headgear) must be worn at all times

while competing. 3. Hard hats must be worn at all times whilst mounted on the showground. 4. All competitors entering events with age qualifications must produce

their birth certificate if required. 5. The judges’ decision is final. 6. No misuse of the whip, equipment or practice jumps will be allowed. 7. Objections must be handed to the secretary within 30 minutes of the

incident with a £50 deposit. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.

8. The committee reserve the right to alter, add or cancel any class and to

refuse any entry. 9. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times. 10. No competitor shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible

as owner, lease, authorised agent or rider to compete in any competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure that other members of

the public are not put at injury.
