With the goal of just having a first contact with competition, before a more

serious involvement, he participated in some races of the ROTAX CHALLENGE

with a rented 2007 chassis / engine.

GOALS:To participate in the maximum number of races (ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE callender), JUNIOR CUP (14 / 15 y.o.), with the minimum budget possible.

ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE INTERNACIONAL

At the final of the season, the WORLD FINAL CUP is held (at foreign country) with the participation of the winner of each national class.

The ROTAX Trophy is nowadays, the most competitive

championship held in Portugal, supported by FPAK, and it takes

part of the International ROTAX Max Challenge, like similar

trophies in many other countries.

Each event is ran in 2 Races + Final (beyond the usual free and qualification practices).

The races compete in various karting permanent circuits, starting usually in April and ending in October.

ACQUIRING RESOURCES / CREATING THE TEAM / THE FIRST RACES

CHASSIS: INTREPID (ITALIA) 2010, WITH UPDATED SPECIFICATIONS.

ENGINE: ROTAX 125 MAX JUNIOR CLASS.(125 cc, liquid cooled, +/- 23 hp – 14,000 rpm, max. speed up to 140 km/h)

To acquire specific tools and transportation trailer. To establish protocols:

Use of equipped “box” in the various competitions.

Race Engineer / Senior mechanic, a former karting pilot with several titles and a representative of Portugal in the ROTAX WORLD FINALS, in Italy (2008).

In 2010, Bernardo participated at Bombarral, Viana do Castelo

and Portimão races, but misses the Santo André race (budget

restrictions).

Gain experience on the track, in direct competition with

experienced pilots, with financial restrictions… that was a real

challenge !

In a total of 16 pilots who scored the Rotax Challenge, with limited

resources and with evidence bad luck (crashed by other when in

4th place, problems with pipe petrol when in 6th, crashed by

other when in 2nd place), he finnished the Trophy in 9th place.

But the grab for “revenge” remained ! In 2011, who

knows ?

2011 has to be a season yet with a more ambitious target, since prepared with financial means that a simple “FATHERSPONSOR” cannot achieve !

The aim is to fight for the 3 first positions at the end of the trophy, with balanced means.

The same chassis / engine, dully reviewed, will be used with the eventual upgrades approved by the Challenge Technical Regulations.

(*) “MOJO CUP” is the big IBERIAN ROTAX “party”.

Although not scoring to the ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE in PORTUGAL and in SPAIN, the winner of each class is immediatly selected for the World ROTAX Finals.

2011: Sponsorship

Sponsor Proposal (main sponsor): Fee cash: 10,000€ / year.

Intended to particularly finance: kart maintenance, Race Engineer, equipped box, travels and accomodations, fuel, tires and participation fees in each race.

Fee species: graphic materials of brand visibility.

Counterparts:

Dynamic relationship with the sponsor of Bernardo, promoting the brand in all competitions throughout the country.

Comprehensive visibility of the brand ensured. Kart (annexe 1); Suit (annexe 1); Helmet (annexe 1); Motobike (Kawasaki 1400) on tour (anexe 2) Bernardo´s blog; Exibition of the kart, out of races, in places to be agreed; Other means authorized by the organization (to be agreed).

ANNEXE 2Motobyke on tour

Bernardo´s father will drive his KAWASAKI 1400 GTR with stickers of the sponsor in both sides (as image) as from the previous week of the fisrt race till the final of the trophy.

The byke is primary used in tours throught the country, at weekends, as well as in the city of PORTO, in working days, when the weather conditions allows.
