STUDY CLUB NEWS Bernier, Peters conduct course The US Army Institute of Dental Research held its fifth annual course in endodontics at Walter Reed Army Med- ical Center Oct 20-24. The course was directed by Cols. Ed Bernier and Don Peters and was designed to give the general practitioner a comprehensive overview of contemporary endodontics. Dr. Fred Cox, former director of the Army endodontic residency training, lec- tured to the 161 conferees. Open to both civilian and military dentists, the next course is scheduled for Oct 19-23, 1981. Intentional replantation Eighteen members of the Tar Heel Endodontic Association attended the Oct 17-19 meeting in Wrightville Beach, NC, at which Dr. H. Wayne Mohorn reported on intentional (planned) and traumatic (unplanned) replantation of teeth. Dr. Joe Camp led a discussion on treatment of traumatic injuries to the dentition. The R. Jack Shankle Teaching Fellow- ship at the University of North Carolina has been established through the efforts of the Tar Heel Endodontic Association. The association will hold its winter meet- ing at the Center for Continuing Educa- tion in Boone, NC, Jan 30-Feb 2. The program will consist of a presentation of research projects by the university's endodontic graduate students. Pathology of mandible, maxilla A program on an "Overview of Pathol- ogy of the Mandible and Maxilla" pre- sented by Dr. James Sciubba and Dr. Stephen Sachs was the feature of the Oct 8 meeting of the Tri-State Society of Endodotics in New York City. The next gathering-the Julius Fox Memorial Meeting--will be held Jan 14. Trauma on dentition discussed The Louis I. Grossman Study Club heard Dr. Calvin Torneck of Toronto, Canada, present a paper on the long- term effects of trauma on developing Dr. Cal Torneck (seated, center) spoke to the Louis I. Bernier, Peters conduct course

The US Army Institute of Dental Research held its fifth annual course in endodontics at Walter Reed Army Med- ical Center Oct 20-24. The course was directed by Cols.
