Short description

Within this project, the motorway M51was built between the E45 inSønderjylland (Southern Jutland) andAlssund, in order to create astructure­enhancing and efficientconnection. For this project, theKliplev Motorway Group (KMG)assigned a european constructioncompany in a so­called public­private­partnership for the construc­tion of the motorway. This newly builtmotorway was erected between2011­2012, has a total length ofabout 28 km and was realizedbetween Kliplev in the west andSønderborg in the east. Overall, twolanes on each side were completed.

Besides the construction of themotorway, seven interchanges aswell as ten crossing municipalconnection roads with a total lengthof 18 km had to be built. Additionally,numerous off­site facilities had to benewly established or modified to thechanged structure. Also, elevenroundabouts and one distributor ringwere constructed within this project.

Due to the high existing complexityand a stipulated construction periodof about two years, it was necessaryto ensure a trouble­free timing andhigh quality requirements on thestructural engineering, the securityand the project documentation.
