    BENNIAL CROPS

    Cassava- is the third largest source of food carbohydrates in the tropics,

    after riceand maize.Cassava is a major staple food in the developing world,

    providing a basic diet for over half a billion people.

    Raddish - is an edible root vegetableof the Brassicaceaefamily that

    was domesticated inEuropein pre-Roman times. Radishes are grown

    and consumed throughout the world, being mostly eaten raw as acrunchy saladvegetable. hey have numerous varieties, varying in size,

    flavor, color and the length of time they ta!e to mature.

    Lettuce - is an annual plantof the daisy family"steraceae. #t

    is most often grown as aleaf vegetable, but sometimes for its

    stem and seeds. $ettuce was first cultivated by the ancientEgyptians w ho turned it from a weed,whose seeds were used to

    produce oil, into a food plant grown for its succulent leaves, in

    addition to its oil-rich seeds.

    Carrot -is a root vegetable,usually orange in color, though purple, red,

    white, and yellow varieties e%ist.
