'CHAPTER ON CORONA SHOULD BE INTRODUCED IN SCHOOL CURRICULUM'
Rajasthan health minister Raghu Sharmahas said that a chapter on coronavirusshould be introduced in school curricu-
lum to help the coming generations become awareof the challenges society faced together in fight-ing Covid-19. “Students should bemade aware of the times we wentthrough during the lockdown. Thiswas the first pandemic outbreak reported in theworld in over 100 years, and hence, its docu-mentation should be done for the coming gen-erations to remain prepared for future challenges, which we wish should never come,” Sharma said.
"Had the Spanish flu reported in 1920been documented, and a book avail-able on it, we could have learned the
tricks to fight the health chal-lenge. Now, we need to havebooks for the newer generation
to know how we fought the Covid-19epidemic, and how society combatedthe challenge unitedly, and stayed ina lockdown for months," he said

1 The Opposition has asked theCentre to stick to the usual calen-der, and hold the monsoon session
in the last week of July, as the country isfacing challenges on multiple fronts: thepandemic, which has created an unprece-dented twinning of health and financialcrises; the confrontation with China in theGalwan Valley, among others.
2The budget session of parliamentended on March 23. According torules, there should not be a gap
of more than six months between twoparliament sessions, which means thenext session can be convened onSeptember 23.
3However, according to experts, pro-longed absence of the House pro-ceedings does away with the legisla-
ture’s power of checks and balances on theexecutive
4 Therefore, they say, a virtual ses-sion may be necessary, as all MPswill not want to come to Delhi,
where Covid cases are rising

Yoga is known for its several short andlong-term health benefits. It is goodfor boosting your immunity, loweringyour blood pressure, managing your
blood sugar levels and reducing stress, whichhelps to manage your overall physical and mental well-being. However, just like any formof workout, there are numerousmisconceptions associated withyoga. Let’s debunk some common misconceptions asso-ciated with yoga.
You need to be flexibleto perform yogaYou do not need to be flexibleto start practising yoga. Onthe contrary, yoga helps you toget flexible. In the beginning, you may find it a little difficultto touch your toes while standing or bendingyour torso, but this is what yoga helps you toachieve. With time, your range of motionwill increase and you will perfect the asanas.
It is only for womenIt is incorrect to link a specific form of
physical activity to any gender. Thislogic applies to yoga too. Anybody
can add yoga to their daily routine. As per history, some of the great-
est yoga teachers have beenmen. Moreover, if we look intothe health benefits that yogaoffers, it offers sound physi-cal and mental health toanyone who practises it.
It’s only for slenderpeople
Again, this is nothing morethan a myth. Yoga is not only
for slender people, but foreveryone – irrespective of
their physique and body type.
It is a religion Yoga originated in India and derives its
spiritual element from Indian culture, butyoga is not a religion. The mantras andchants associated with yoga have Indianroots. However, the purpose of this yogicscience is to bring focus and good health. Itis not necessary to chant the mantras. Youcan perform yoga even without any
mantra chanting.
It’s too easyIt is a combination ofboth easy as well asdifficult asanas. Youcan master some injust 2-3 days, whileothers may takemonths to fine-tune. However, theimportant thing is
to practise it every dayand challenge your body, without
losing your focus and consistency.
It is all about stretchingYoga is way more than that. It has numer-ous asanas for every body part. In fact, some of the yogic kriyas are meant toreduce specific health problems too.

THE VULTUREBOARD GAMERULES 1. Two players
2. A dice
3. Two round chips
4. A game board (print it out on hard A3 paper andlaminate)
5. A deck of cards on any topic of your choice(addition/ subtraction/ multiplication etc)).
1. Players place their chips on the start position.
2. Toss a coin to determine who will start first.
3. Shuffle a deck of at least 25 or more cards on aparticular topic. Place the cards face down to con-ceal the questions on them.
4. Roll the dice in turns, pull out a card, answerthe question and move forward the number ofplaces indicated by the face of the dice.
5. If you cannot answer the question correctly (or atall), keep the card aside and stay on your position.
6. At the end of a round, the cards can be shuffledagain and used for a new game. In case you run outof cards before the game comes to an end, you canshuffle all cards that were answered (or used duringthe game) and keep on playing.
7. The objective is to reach the finish position.
PS The end of the game could be tricky. It is up toyou to be flexible about how you wish to end thegame. If the participant rolls the dice and gets anumber that makes them move more spaces pastthe finish line, it is fine to end the game. But youcould also make it harder by insisting on partic-pants to have the exact number (after rolling thedice) to allow them go to the end of the game.Feel free to make your own rules here.
This game has been tested in classroomsaround the world and feedback has been over-whelmingly positive. Have fun and also reviewyour maths skills.

BREATHING RIGHT IN CORONAVIRUSSince the novel coronavirus is a respiratory virus, the condition of your lungs decide how vulnerable youare. Start strengthening your respiratory health before you decide to step out...
BREATHE IN THROUGH THE NOSE Breathing through the nose helps clean incomingair, via cilia (small hairs) and mucous membranes, thus creating a shield against disease. Nasal breath-ing also warms and moistens incoming air. Says nutritionist & certified diabetes educator, Avni Kaul,“Breathing exercises can help because they relaxyour body. Deep breathing is one of the finest waysto reduce stress. This is because when one breathesdeeply, it sends a signal to your brain to calm downand relax. The way one breathes affects his whole
body. Deep breathing exercises can have a greateffect on your state of mind, as well as improvethe quality of your meditation.”
AVOID VIRAL REBREATHING Among the ways to reduce rebreathing andother forms of exposure are the usual rec-ommendations to breathe fresh air, fre-quently wash hands, clean surfaces and washlaundry. Good quality air filters can also be
helpful both during the day and at night. Atargeted approach is to regularly breathe out
in one direction and breath in inanother, especially in the out-doors or through an open win-dow. Also make sure you are notrebreathing the virus throughyour masks. Design require-ments for a non-rebreathingmask include: Flows of air, filters and other means to reducethe likelihood that viral particlesexhaled, coughed or sneezed byan individual are subsequentlyrebreathed.
Now that countries are softeninglockdown restrictions and peo-ple are venturing out, it becomesimportant to focus on our res-piratory health. Air pollution,
dust and allergens can all combine to exposeyou to greater risk of catching coronavirus. There are things you can do to improve breath-ing, just by changing a few lifestyle factors.Enhancing your respiratory health doesn'tprevent you from getting infected, but it doeshave benefits that may reduce the severity ofthe illness if you are infected, and thereforeyour exposure to the virus.
CONTROL AIR POLLUTION:A study of air qual-ity in Italy’s northernprovinces of Lom-bardy and Emilia Ro-magna found a cor-relation betweenCovid-19 mortalityrates and high levelsof pollution. Air pol-lution particles maybe acting as vehiclesfor viral transmis-sion. Scientists saythat improving air
quality could play an important role in over-coming the pandemic. Air pollution is alsoknown to weaken the immune system, com-promising people’s ability to fight off infec-tion. So, reduce car trips, avoid burning leavesor trash, turn off the lights when you leave aroom, and recycle paper, plastic, metals andorganic materials.
VENTILATE YOUR SURROUNDINGS: It is best forairflows to be outward. Circulating stale in-door air is harmful in this scenario. Open-ing windows of the house allows any viralparticles present in the air to exit the room, rather than you (or someone else) breathing
them back in; and two, it bringsmore oxygen into the room –helpful for the lungs and all-around health.
SPEND TIME OUTDOORSWHILE MAINTAINING SO-CIAL DISTANCE: Get outand inhale fresh air. Bal-conies, backyards or pa-tios, are good locations to be,as well as walks while avoid-ing proximity to others. This has the same benefits
as keeping windows open – ensuring
exhaled viral particles don’t get re-inhaled.
DEEP BREATHING: A regular practice of 10-15minutes of breathing exercises in the
morning, followed by alight 10-minute walk isknown to show phe-nomenal improve-
ment in health and im-munity, alongwith an overall
healthy lifestyle.Says holistic lifestyle
coach Luke Coutinho, “Allof us breathe, but how manyof us breathe the right way?Breathing ex-
ercises or pranayama is important not just for thatone hour, but those teach-ings must slip into our daily lives.”
3 AMAZING BENEFITS OF TAKING AN
AFTERNOON NAPA
fternoon naps are great. Yes, they are. A mere15-minutes power nap can turn into a full-blown two-hour siesta, especially after ahearty lunch. And there are many who would-
n’t mind it either. And the pandemic threw these chancesat us often in these last three months, didn’t it?
So let’s take a look at some benefits oftaking an afternoon nap.
1 IMPROVES MEMO-RY: A recentstudy has shown
that participants whotook a regular 20-30minutes afternoon
nap showed im-proved cognitive
skills, bettermemory, and
more alert-ness. How-ever, thosewho took
a nap formore than 20-30 min-
utes suffered from grogginess and did not showany significant improvement in alertness.
2 INCREASES YOUR CREATIVITY: Many have repeat-edly said that a sound nap not just helps them tohandle stress better but also helps them to concen-
trate, boosts memory as well as increases their creativity.
3 INCREASES WILL POWER: Your mind refuses topush itself when it is extremely tired. It is a knownfact that when it comes to matters of will power,
it is often highest in the morning, when the brain isfresh. When you are sleep deprived, your brain has ahard time in concentrating and ignoring distractions. Power naps taken during the mid-day can help reducestress and restore your focus.
