Early Life His uncle raised him as a child. Until the age of 12, Benito Juarez, worked in

the corn fields and as a shepherd. When Benito moved to the city where his

sister work, he became an assistant of Antonio Maza.

Then a man by the name of Antonio Salanueva was impressed on how well Benito learned.

Started his career as a lawyer in 1834

Later became a judge in 1841 He then soon later became the

governor of Oaxaca from 1847 to 1852
