    JOB SITE REPORT

    About BMRCL :Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) is a jointventure between Govt. of India and Govt. of Karnataka

    sharing the responsibility of implementation of BangaloreMetro Rail Project. It is named as Namma Metro.

    Phase I metro project started(Civil work) in June2007 .Theestimated cost of project is Rs 11609 Cr.

    Namma Metro phase-I network consist of two corridors :East-West and North South.

    Project highlights: Project Routes -East-West Corridor (Purple Line): Baippanahalli station to

    Mysore road Terminal - 18.10 KmsNorth-South Corridor (Green Line): Nagasandra station to

    Puttenahalli - 24.20 KMS

    Total KMS in Phase I: 42.30 KMSElevated section - 33.48 KMSUnder Ground Section - 8.82 KMS

    Section Line Route

    Reach-1 East Line Cricket stadium to Baiappanahalli -6.7 kms

    Reach-2 West Line Leprocy hospital to Mysore Road-6.4 kms

    Reach-3 North Line Sampige Road to yeshwantpur -5.1 kms

    Reach -3A First North ext. Line Yeshwantpur to Peenya ind -4.8kms

    Reach -3B Second North ext. Line Peenya Ind to Nagasandra-2.5 kms

    Reach-4 South Line National college to R V Road-4.1 kms

    Reach-4A South Ext. Line R V road to Puttenahalli -3.9 kms

    UG-1 N-S Underground Line Sampige and National College-4 kms

    Reach and Routes:

    For the implementation and execution of the project, four elevated stretches are called Reaches

    & are identified so for convenience purpose. Also there are two underground sections are

    connecting Reach -1 and Reach-2 in East-West Corridor and Reach-3 & Reach-4 in North-South

    Corridor respectively. Each Reach has been given to a contractor for execution of the project.

    BMRCL has distributed the works to select best contractors based on their expertise in execution ofproject -

    1) Building of Elevated structure.2) Building railway station.

    3) Rail tracking construction4) Underground Tunnel construction.

    Methods used for concreting:

    1)Viaduct (Elevated structure): Basically using precast structure for segment, girders, pier cap etc. Eachsegment requires 20 cu.m. concrete and I- girder is required 17 cum.

    2)Station building : Using precast and slab by concreting.3)Under ground tunnel: Using precast for tunnel rings. Tunnel concreting by shotcrete.

    4)Track laying : Concrete is required to make plinth construction and track bed construction insidetunnel.All the above application require high grade concrete: M40,M50,M60

    Market share of Putzmeister Boom

    Pumps is around 70-80 % in this project.

    BMRCL project of R-3A for Elevatedstructure for 5.1 KMS. Putzmeister Boompump model BSF 36.09 is being used for pre-

    casting and concreting piers & piers caps.

    Boom Pump details :Pump commissioned on :19/08/2010

    Pumping hrs : 1092 hrsConcrete done : 45,000 Cu.m.Concrete grade used : M40, M50

    Almost done 1100 segments and 1000 nos.I-Girders by using this machine.

    Each segment will have 20 cum concrete and

    each I-Girder will have 17 cum concrete.

    P&M - Incharge is extremely satisfied withthe performance of the machine and

    completing his project as per stipulatedtimeline.

    BMRCL project of 3 nos. station in R-3, 3 nos

    station in R-3A, 3 nos. Stations in R-4. PutzmeisterBoom Pump being used basically for building

    Station and for placing concrete at 3 level and fordifferent structure. All station locations are highlycongested due to traffic & placing concrete is a big

    challenge.

    Cumulative (since from purchase) concrete done :above 1,00,000 CUMConcrete Grade used in this project : M40,M50Mostly this machine is being used for placing the

    concrete for station construction.P&M - Head is satisfied with the performance of

    the machine & is confident of completing theproject as per schedule. Also, he has appreciated

    the service support extended during concretingeven at night.

    BMRCL project of R- 4A in which 4 km elevated structure and 3 nos. stations and R-3B in which 3.8 kmselevated structure and 3 nos. stations. The machine is used for precast application and placing concrete atelevated structures wherever required and to build a station.

    Concrete done : 45,000 CumConcrete Grade used in this project : M40,M50,M60Casting concrete Grade : M50

    P&M- Head has mentioned that PM machine performance is up to his satisfaction.

    Underground Tunnel project of total

    length 4.9 KMS. Constructing 4nosunderground stations in East-West

    line. Project has started and almost3KM tunnel has been completed.Brief project details are as under:

    Tunnel length: 4.9 KMS and Tunneldiameter is 5.9 meter.

    Underground depth: 35 meter

    No. of under ground stations: 4 nos.Tunnel Rings : Rings are pre-castedin different segment.

    They are using our boom pump forplacing concrete at tunnel opening,pathways, sidewall construction etc.

    Concrete done for this project : 15,000 CUMPumping Hours : 1392 Hrs.

    Machine shifted from other project.Machine Commissioned on:12.04.2009Concrete done so far: 40,000 CUM

    Concrete done for this Project: 15000 CUMTotal Pumping Hours done: 1068 hrs.

    Underground Tunnel project of total length4kms Constructing 3 nos. underground

    stations in North-South line. Project hasstarted and Tunnel work not yet started.

    Brief project details are as under.Tunnel length :4.0 KMS & Tunnel diameter

    is 5.9 meter.Underground depth: 35 meter

    No of under ground stations: 3 nos.Tunnel Rings : Rings are pre-casted in

    different segments.They are using Putzmeister boom pump forconcrete placing in tunnel opening,

    pathways, sidewall construction etc.
