DIGESTIVE SUPPORT SOFT CHEW Includes DSS Global’s exclusive ingredient: PSB Complex. PSB Complex

contains highly purified nucleotides which play a critical role in supporting a healthy digestive tract.

For 20 years, the use and benefits derived from nucleotides in human supplements, animal products and infant formulas have been verified by thousands of scientific studies, university trials and field research.

Our product also contains an equine-specific probiotic strain.

NUCLEOTIDES? TELL ME MORE… Today, the inclusion of dietary nucleotides in animal diets is a universally

common practice not only due to the continually demonstrated benefits to animals, but because of the economic advantages to the feed manufacturers as well as their clients.

DSS Global, LLC has clearly established itself as the world leader in nucleotide supplementation in the animal industry, as some of the largest animal nutrition companies in the world currently use PSB Complex (i.e. ADM, EWOS).

Nucleotide-enhanced dietary formulas and functional treats are increasing globally. Many companies around the world are using this technology to distinguish themselves by providing products with a “point of difference” to give them a distinctive edge in what has become a highly competitive market.

EFFECT OF PSB COMPLEX ON EXERCISE-INDUCED CARDIO RESPIRATORY AND BLOOD PARAMETER CHANGES IN THOROUGHBRED HORSES DURING TRAININGThe following trial was conducted by an Equine Sport Medicine Unit who were faculty members of the Veterinary Medicine department at a major university. The following trial summary was presented at the Congress of Equine Medicine and Surgery Proceedings.

Two groups of thoroughbred horses, randomly distributed, were compared during a 12-week period for their cardio-respiratory and metabolic adjustment to strenuous exercise. During the whole experimental period, the principal group (n=6; weight: 500.2 +15.5 Kg; age: 4.5 +0.7 years) received once a day PSB Complex while the control group (n=5; weight: 500.2 +16.3 Kg; age: 4.0 +0.3 years) received a placebo. All other conditions were similar for both groups. The horses were trained following the same highly standard schedule.

VO2, a measurement of oxygen intake, was 11% higher in Treatment group.

VCO2, which measures carbon dioxide production, was 19% higher in Treatment group. The lower the carbon dioxide levels the less oxygen is released to the tissues. Low carbon dioxide results in lack of oxygen for the cells. Muscle cells go into anaerobic respiration and produce lactic acid instead of carbon dioxide. Lactic acid is toxic and causes muscles to fatigue and further reduces carbon dioxide levels. The treated group had a 19% increase in carbon dioxide production which is significant.

EV, which is the expired minute volume/ VO2, was 14% higher in Treatment group.

OP, which is oxygen pulse calculated taking VO2/HR (heart rate), was 19% higher in Treatment group.

O2 consumption was up substantially. During 9m/sec measurements, the Treatment group had a 7.2% increase in O2 consumption compared to Control group. During 11m/sec measurements the TG had a 9.6% increase in O2 consumption compared to Control group.

O2 volume per heart beat increased by 9.6% and 10.8% with the Treatment group in two different SETs.

Lactate concentration in CG was 12.8% higher compared to TG.

Enzyme levels of CPK concentration in the blood at rest was 39% higher in Control group. CPK concentration in the blood after work was 72% higher in the CG. A rise in CPK level usually indicates there has been an injury or stress to the heart, the brain or muscle tissue. When muscle tissue is damaged, CPK leaks into the bloodstream. Similar results were found with AST and LDH concentrations in the blood.

EQUINE SPECIFIC PROBIOTIC Probiotics play a critical role in

maintaining digestive health. The probiotic used in the digestive soft chew is equine specific.

The probiotic strain that was identified and cultured is called Lactobacillus reuteri.

Lactobacillus reuteri is a unique probiotic strain as it creates an antimicrobial compound called reuterin.

Research shows that reuterin inhibits the growth of many pathogens including salmonella and E.coli.

L. REUTERI PROBIOTIC VERSUS SALMONELLA Dr. Tiffany Weir, Colorado State University professor in the Department of

Health and Human Sciences, conducted an in vivo study with the probiotic strain against salmonella. The purpose of the study was to measure the ability of the probiotic strain to inhibit the growth of salmonella.

The results (both at 24 and 48 hours) clearly demonstrate that even at low probiotic levels (i.e. 25% probiotic and 75% media) the strain completely inhibits its growth.

JOINT SUPPORT SOFT CHEW Includes DSS Global’s exclusive ingredient PSB Complex. PSB Complex

plays a critical role in repairing damaged tissue which helps maintain joint integrity.

Does not include glucosamine or chondroitin sulfate, as both are overused in the nutrition supplement market. The product, instead, includes an egg shell membrane ingredient with proven efficacy for joint support.

Finally, to make this product truly unique, it contains the substantially effective anti-inflammatory “curcumin”. The curcumin used in the product has been specifically sourced for its efficacy and proven research.

ANTI-OXIDANT SOFT CHEW Antioxidants play a very specific role in the body's natural defense system.

Their job is to protect cells against damage from excessive free radicals. Free radicals are highly unstable and reactive particles produced as a normal by-product of metabolism. Removing free radicals is imperative to avoid oxidative stress.

Cranberries and blueberries have been used in pet diets for years due to their anti-oxidant properties. DSS Global has hand selected a naturally grown super fruit with an ORAC value that is 8 to 10 times higher than cranberries and blueberries. This is the first pet product to use this super fruit.

To provide additional anti-oxidant properties this soft chew includes another uniquely sourced ingredient with a high ORAC value.

As with the other soft chew treats this product contains PSB Complex. Nucleotides play an essential role in the production of new cells (cell proliferation).

SOFT CHEW VS. OTHER DELIVERY METHODS Soft chews are a wonderful delivery method for the horse and their owner.

Every horse loves treats making our soft chews an easy and fun way to provide a highly effective, and great tasting, nutritional product.

Soft chew versus powder – A powder supplement often falls to the bottom of the feeder left unconsumed. Also, powders require the owner to administer a scoop every feeding which can be tiresome.

Soft chew versus paste – Horses not only can be hesitant to have a tube of paste put into their mouth but it can be challenging to get them to consumer all of the product.

Soft chew versus capsule or tablet – These typically have an unpleasant taste and often have to be disguised for the horse to consume it. Also, tablets are made with extreme high heat and pressure often destroying the viability of the nutrients.
