of 1 2 ARTIST BIOS BRYN KENNEDY | Director/Producer Bryn Kennedy has been an actor ever since she can remember, but found her passion for directing in high school when she lead a production of ‘night Mother at the Sears Drama Festival, winning an Award of Excellence in Directing and Producing. Since then, Bryn has continued this journey, taking Directing with Richard Rose at Tarragon Theatre and as a member of Nightwood Theatre’s Young Innovators Unit. She is also an arts educator and is growing her experience as an arts administrator with companies such as Nightwood, Crows Theatre and Studio 180. Her directing credits include, Jean Anouilh’s Antigone (co-director Rachel VanDuzer, UTMDC), Overtones, Beneath the Bed (Erindale Fringe Festival), Happy Family (Toronto Fringe Festival), Selections from Vitals (Paprika Festival Directors’ Lab), Reasons to be Pretty (RTBP Collective), Vitals (Theatre Born Between) and A Bear Awake in Winter (Assistant Director, Canadian Stage Workshop and Next Stage Theatre Festival with Binocular Theatre). She is a graduate of the joint Theatre and Drama Studies Program at Sheridan College and University of Toronto earning an Acting Diploma and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree. Her special skills include baking, knitting and nding a way to mention her recent haircut in almost any situation. GABRIEL GOLIN | Playwright Gabriel Golin is an actor and playwright who graduated with an Acting Diploma from Sheridan College, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Theatre and Drama Studies from the University of Toronto Mississauga. Gabe’s passion for playwriting sparked in grade 11 after completing his st full length play “Till Death do us Part, for the Durham Drama Festival. Gabe’s love for playwriting continued to ourish throughout university with his workshop production of Beneath the Bed. Under the guidance of Djanet Sears in his fourth year, Gabe expanded his knowledge of playwriting, leading towards a staged reading of his play Now You Don’t. Gabe wants to use his plays to explore dicult subject matter through fantastical new worlds, existing through a realm of imagination, familiar enough to relate to regardless of age, gender, or journey. CAITLIN BRENNEMAN | Stage Manager Caitlin Brenneman is a third year student in the Ryerson Performance Production program specializing in stage management and technical direction. Selected stage management credits include: The Doll Play (Witchboy Theatre and Blood Pact Theatre); The Scarborough Project (Tarragon Theatre); Reasons to Be Pretty (RTBP Co); and Nasty (Maelstrom Art Collective). They are very excited to be returning to the Toronto Fringe as part of the Beneath the Bed team and to have learned a new instrument in the process! LUCAS PENNER | Composer Lucas Penner is a professional actor and songwriter specializing in composition and musical direction for theatre. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Theatre Arts (2017) from the George Brown Theatre School. Reaching a new height this past April, his Dead and Lovely Collective re- mounted a concert version of his dark musical "Circles" at Lula Lounge with an extremely talented cast of musicians, singers and actors from various parts of the Toronto scene. "Circles" is his labor of love and will be under development for the next year with a full 2020 remount in sight. Lucas was also the sole musician in Theatre Direct's May 2019 touring production of "Flying Hearts" in which he played mandolin, piano, accordion glassware and a glockenspiel. He is very excited to be joining Theatre Born Between and the crew of "Beneath the Bed" for this fun and challenging show. Other credits include "Cavalcade", "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "As You Like It" at George Brown, Let Me In Theatre's "The Miserable Worm" and Under Pressure Productions' "Meant". He was also hired by Mike Ross for the Edna St.Vincent Millay workshop at Toronto's Soulpepper Theatre in January 2018, and sang in Tapestry Opera's production of "Oksana G in 2017.

JOHN WAMSLEY | Whisper, Producer John Wamsley is an Indigenous actor, dancer, and arts administrator born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. He is a graduate of the Theatre and Drama Studies program at Sheridan College and the University of Toronto and has since been fortunate enough to work both on and off stage, including the development of a passion-project entitled off my chest., which was presented at this year's Dark Crop Performance Festival. John's recent credits include the sold out run of the Fringe 2018 Patron's Pick, Everyone Wants a T-Shirt!, Private Harris in The Grand Theatre's production of Timothy Findley's The Wars, and participation within the 31st annual Weesageechak Festival. John is currently the Communications Manager for the Paprika Festival, and continues to do graphic and video design for several theatre companies in the GTA. He also works in a restaurant... typical.

GRAHAM CONWAY | Monster Graham Conway is a Toronto based theatre artist, teacher, and proud graduate of the George Brown Theatre School. Recent stage credits include Oberon in Ill Met By Moonlight (Pointed Cap Playhouse), Captain Hook in Peter Pan (Bad Hats/Soulpepper, Dora Awards for Outstanding Production and Best Ensemble), and Miles in The Drawer Boy (Passes Muraille). This is Graham's second year at the Toronto Fringe, after winning Patron's Pick last summer in Tony Award Winner Lisa Lambert's brand new drag musical The Ding Dong Girls! ERIN HUMPHRY | Child 1 Erin Humphry has been living, creating, and recreationally protesting in Toronto for 5 years. This is her first ever Fringe show! Theatre credits include the Toronto premiere of Laura Wade’s Breathing Corpses (Coal Mine Theatre), Bombers: Reaping the Whirlwind(4th Line Theatre), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Hart House Theatre), and A Wake for Lost Time([elephants] Collective). Erin is always excited to be a part of new and inclusive theatre, and cannot wait to share this piece

KEATON KWOK | Whisper Keaton Kwok is a Toronto based artist who has been living and working in the city for the past year since graduating from the University of Windsor. Previously he has worked with House + Body on their 2018 workshop production of “Marry Me Marry Me Marry Me Marry Me.” Keaton is grateful to Theatre Born Between for the opportunity, and the cast and creative team for their patience, support, and play. This is baby’s First Fringe!

ELIZABETH STAPLES | Mom/Whisper Elizabeth Staples is performance artist and theatre creator who was born and raised in Toronto. She graduated from Humber College’s Theatre Performance Program. Recent credits include Follow Me (Toronto Fringe/SURGE Theatre), Witness of Obsession and Desire (Paprika Festival), Trash Sanctuary (xLq), White Girls in Moccasins (Rhubarb Festival), Surplus Party Guest (Elephants Collective/VSVSVS), Terra Incognita (Doc Now), and The Stranger (Summerworks/DopoLavoroTeatrale). Elizabeth is interested in devised, physical theatre that is queer centered, has social conscious and is covered in glitter.

LINDSAY WU | Child 2/Whisper Lindsay Wu is a performer graduated from Theatre and Drama Studies at university of Toronto and Sheridan college. The recent theatre credits include Elvira in Blithe Spirit; Eurydice and Midas’ Daughter in Metamorphoses; lady Nijo in Top Girls. This is her first Toronto Fringe and she is thrilled to be able to explore monsters and magic under the direction of Bryn Kennedy.
