We are pleased to be open again to the public and to be engaging with residents on numerous new and ongoing issues. Our focus on maintaining and improving the City’s critical infrastructure continues with road repairs; a new set of sidewalk and safety improvements in the offing; and more refined design underway for the project to protect Belvedere’s access routes, utility systems, and flood barriers from earthquake and rising seas. Each of these subjects will come before the City Council and public during the coming months. The City is also gearing up for a revision to its Housing Element – the part of the general plan that provides parameters for housing development in Belvedere. This effort will involve a number of important public conversations over the next year to determine how best to plan for new housing in light of strict State housing mandates that we are now facing. Also this Fall, we are likely to receive an application for proposed new housing across from City Hall in the Mallard Road area; the proposal will be discussed at Planning Commission and City Council meetings after it is received by the City. Thanks to the efforts of our citizenry and our health professionals, Marin is leading the State in COVID vaccinations and correspondingly low case rates. In our county as of this writing, 97% of people 12 years old and over have received one shot of the vaccine, and 92% are fully vaccinated. I am pleased to report that 100% of Belvedere city staff are vaccinated. This portends well for the year ahead. Belvedere's 125th BirthdayBash was a WonderfulSuccess!

On September 4th, over 450 peoplecame out to celebrate Belvedere's125th Birthday at Community Park.The festivities included live music,food venders, wine, balloon andbubble blowers, and a viewing of 'ThePrincess Bride.'

Thanks to event organizers JamesCampbell, Adam Gavzer, and SandyDonnell for putting on such a fantasticevent for the entire community toenjoy.

Belvedere Police Department Working with theRichardson's Bay Regional Agency

On September 22nd, the Belvedere Police Department assisted theRichardson's Bay Regional Agency in removing marine debris that was locatedapproximately ¼ mile from the western shore of Belvedere. The marine debriswas successfully removed and towed to a shipyard in Richmond for properdisposal.

California's Voting By MailBecomes Permanent

California will now mail ballots to voters in allelections, extending a practice temporarilyadopted during the COVID-19 pandemic to

prevent the spread of the virus at polling locations.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 37 this week, authored byAssemblyman Marc Berman, D-Menlo Park, which requires county electionsofficials to mail a ballot to every active registered voter for all elections. Voterscan still choose to vote at physical polling locations.
