NEXT PHASE OF 2020 We are going to proceed with sending out some permission notes for the Yrs 3-6 Athletics Carnival and K-2 Sportspro gymnas-tics for next term. These events may go ahead or may not. We wish to be organised for any announcements by the Premier. These permission notes will not require payment for the moment. We understand that parents have previously paid for events that did not eventuate which included four tennis lessons, 2 PSSA buses, Dance festival tickets and buses and the leadership camp (possibly on late in the year). Any money paid for these events will be paid into fees in advance so that they can be used for other activities across the family. Your understanding of this situa-tion is appreciated. SURVEY Your feedback is appreciated on the Learning from home platform. We have had 108 surveys completed our of 234 and are re-questing that we have100% completion within the week. Please click on the link or copy into your web browser. shorturl.at/cAGX6 NEWSLETTER We will be sending this out each fortnight and are currently working on a new platform. STEWART HOUSE FUNDRAISING NEXT THURSDAY 11 JUNE To raise money for Stewart House along with having some fun during these times, all students may wear their pjs or onesies to school. Sensible closed shoes should be worn on the day. I expect that there are no excuses for being late that day! The leader-ship team will be collecting a gold coin donation. CANTEEN AND BAND Through these last few months I would like to thank Jo Stracey for her support as we problem solved through these challenging times. We will have the band program beginning next week, with health measures in place. We have screens placed within the canteen with lunch orders only will be resuming from next Wednesday. OPPORTUNITY PLACEMENT PROCESS FOR 2021 - CURRENT YEAR 4 STUDENTS Opportunity classes cater for academically gifted and talented students who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic and social level. These schools help gifted and talented students to learn by grouping them with other gifted and talented students, teaching them in specialised ways and providing educational materials at the appropriate level. The placement process for opportunity class entry in 2021, including the Opportunity Class Placement Test, has been delayed due to the impact of COVID-19. Due to the shorter time frame, changes have been made to the placement process for oppor-tunity classes that will apply for 2020 applicants only. These include: -A new date for online applications. Parents must apply between Tuesday 9 June 2020 and Friday 26 June 2020. Late applica-tions cannot be accepted. -A new test date of Wednesday 16 September 2020. -Principals will not be required to provide school assessment scores but are requested to verify the information entered by par-ents. -Placement in an opportunity class will be based solely on the results of the test. -The illness/misadventure or appeals processes will not be available. -The executive officer of the Team and the Principal of the primary school with an opportunity class will conduct the selection process. -Offers will be made to successful students overnight on 1 December 2020. Orientation day for successful candidates will be scheduled by schools from Monday 7 December 2020. All students of our current year 4 classes should have received information this week about this upcoming process. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS ASSESSMENTS FOR SCHOOLS (ICAS) All students in Years 3 to 6 will be given a note regarding the UNSW Competitions. These competitions are offered to students from Asia and Australia to compete against each other in Digital Technologies, English, Mathematics and Science. Please visit the following website to pay $15:95 for each of the completed tests.

Please be aware that the above dates may clash with your Band training morning.
