TRAFFIC CONTROL ON BELLEVUE WAY SE

Beginning in May, occasional lane closures will occur on Bellevue Way SE from the light rail station up to 112th Avenue SE for the purposes of modifying curbs and medians as well as traffic signal work. Starting in June, more significant traffic control will be in effect.

Weekend full and partial roadway closures

There will be four to five full roadway weekend closures from June through August. Additionally, up to six (6) weekends of reduced lanes are planned within the same months. Additional weekend closures may be needed to complete the work.

Weekend closures are scheduled to begin on Friday evenings and last through Monday mornings.

Weekday traffic control

During the months of June, July and August, weekday traffic control will maintain two lanes in the primary direction into downtown Bellevue and to Interstate 90 during peak weekday commute hours. See graphic on inside page.

Traffic control planned for Bellevue Way SE through late summer includes:

• Two lanes open northbound and one lane open southbound in the morning.

• Two lanes open southbound and one lane open northbound in the evening.

• All lanes open 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays; all lanes open all day on weekends (except during closures noted above.)

• Occasional daytime lane closures will be needed to complete critical work.

• Occasional work may continue until 8 p.m. for certain activities.

• Traffic control in effect Monday through Friday.• Lane closure set up occurs prior to closure start

time.

112TH AVENUE SE ROADWAY RESTORATION

In order to restore the roadway and complete utility and traffic signal work on 112th Avenue from the “Y” intersection at Bellevue Way SE to SE 6th Street, at least two weekend full closures are anticipated in the fall. APPROVED TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS AND EXPANDED WORK HOURS

The city approves traffic control plans for the East Link project. Noise generated from construction activities is exempt from the city’s noise code when it occurs Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless otherwise approved by the city. Bellevue has approved expanded work hours for the construction area between the I-90 East Channel Bridge up to the “Y” intersection at 112th Avenue Southeast, including the South Bellevue Station.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: GOVERNOR’S STAY HOME-STAY HEALTHY PROCLAMATION

• Sound Transit and its contractor are implementing detailed safety practices in compliance with safety requirements per the proclamation.

• Work will progress to the extent possible.• Construction schedules are subject to change and

often do.• NOTE: Due to very low traffic volumes on Bellevue

Way SE, the city may allow additional lane closures and extended lane closure times until traffic returns to normal levels.
