• Travelers shot Shoshone Indians out of fright; Some Indians raided goods and killed travelers.

• Colonel Patrick Connor: Found out there was a Shoshone Raid on some traveling gold miners.

• Went to a Shoshone winter camp and slaughtered 300 Shoshone Indians and burned down their teepees.
