    THIS TUESDAY - August 7th at 6pm - We’re hosting a COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY!!

Please come to the fun, food, and community gathering here at BCC. This is

another opportunity to get to know our neighbors and share Jesus' love with them.... Check out the flyer also. Come tonight (the

5th) at 6pm for 60 minutes and help us pass out flyers to our neighbor friends!!

    Caring=Doing!!

thePLACE - Worship & Word Wednesday Night Connection – Every Wednesday night the church comes together for a great night of fellowship, starting with a light meal at 6:15pm. Then at 7pm, there’s Kids Ministry and the Adult Worship & Bible Study called “thePlace-Worship & Word”. This is a great time of worship – we are digging into the WOW factor of Jesus!! – times when people turned to each other and said, “Did you see what Jesus did?” Come and grow with us!!!

Believer or FOLLOWER? To be a follower or not to be? That is the

question.... I think I have talked with hundreds

of people through the years about what this

means, to be a follower... I have heard all kinds

of ideas and thoughts on the issue. Things like

“to simply know who Jesus is” all the way to

“selling everything and walking with God on the

streets with nothing to your name.” I haven't

found too many people willing to go for it like

that, however I have run into a few crazy enough

to try. Is that what Jesus meant when He said,

“go sell everything, give it to the poor and come

follow me”? I'm not sure that’s what He was

getting at for all of us. He did say “take up your

cross and follow me” and I don't know for sure,

but there isn’t much room on a cross for my

stuff. But that guy that Jesus was talking to, for

that fellow that couldn’t give up his stuff to follow

Jesus – that’s exactly what Jesus said for him to

do. I guess the thing about following Jesus is

this, the more stuff you collect & have to carry,

the harder it is to follow. travellightmyfriend

    BCC family,

    although the

    group seems to

    be shrinking, the

    passion to go

    and love the

    people of Haiti

    does not waver.

We are making big plans for our Haiti effort

and ask for your prayers & support. Pastor

Many has big plans for us teaching the young

    pastors in his training-up-leaders group

training school. We will be studying through

    the book of Daniel.

Thanks for your love – Please keep praying.

Please don't forget to get your Haiti t-shirts

right away and support the effort!

August Missions News International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES) –

I want to thank all of you who helped us buy and pack 30,528 emergency meals on 7/14/18. As you can see, all ages got to lend a hand for Jesus.

Please continue to pray for the Haiti Trip in September and for those who will be reached. You can support this through direct donations (marked “Haiti Trip”) or by purchasing a “BCC loves Haiti” T-shirt for $10. See the display by the Fellowship room.

Campus Christian Fellowship (CCF) is asking us to pray for their ministries as they reach out to new students at UNC, NCSU, UNCW, ECU, and ASU. If you know of any students attending those schools, please let Steve have their contact information. Studies show that many young adults walk away from their faith during this time and this is a vital ministry.

Central India Christian Ministry (CICM) is praising God for the delivery of the donated Cardiac Cath Lab in Damoh, India.

Scarlet Hope’s fundraising Gala is September the 6th in Louisville, KY. See the announcement on page 4 for more information. This is an opportunity to learn about how they minister to women in the adult entertainment industry.

    This service that you

    perform is not only

    supplying the needs of

    the Lord’s people but

    is also overflowing in

    many expressions of

    thanks to God.

    2 Corinthians 9:12

  • Psalm 100 A psalm of thanksgiving

1 Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth!

2 Worship the LORD with gladness.

Come before him, singing with joy. 3 Acknowledge that the LORD is God!

He made us, and we are his.*

    We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;

go into his courts with praise.

Give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good.

    His unfailing love continues forever,

and his faithfulness continues to each

    generation.

Sunday School / Small Groups August is here and it’s almost time for school to start back. Where has the summer gone? No matter the season, there is always something going on in class.

Our Sunday school Nursery class will be taught by Jackie Stipetich this month. Jean Dailey provides for the nursery during the Worship service.

We welcome Sara Laws back to Busy Bees this month! She will be leading the children in learning about Samuel and his relationship to God. What an exciting month for them!

In Kids For Christ we will be learning from Paul in The New Testament about how we should walk as Christians. Amy Lutterloh will be teaching this month.

Jacob Baskaron, our Youth leader will be upstairs with the preteen and teens.

There are 2 classes for the adults to choose from each Sunday. There is the Topical class taught by Steve Dailey this month, and the Seekers class led by Dan Stipetich. We look forward to seeing you in class!!!

As the summer comes to an end for our students it is important to recognize all of the outstanding students for their achievements in- and outside of the classroom. We are very proud of students for what they have been able to accomplish thus far in their lives. Not only are they about to start another year of school, but they are also getting closer to what every kid dreams of: the real world. It is important to understand that these students are working to achieve things that generations before us couldn’t even imagine being a reality to them. And we all as a community have the opportunity to impact that path towards greatness for these students.

Join the Refined student ministry team in helping our young people grow into what God calls them to be. There is a need everywhere and I urge you to help shape the future by helping our students understand their calling for their lives.

If you are going into the sixth grade or you have a child that is going into the sixth grade, please let us know so that we can properly transition those who need to start having their opportunities with people that are closer to their own age.

CONNECTION CORNER!! HEY everybody! Our amazing BCC INVOLVEMENT MINISTRY TEAM has created a really cool place for everyone to see what’s happening at BCC and find a way to get involved. Please stop by our new Ministry Connection Corner (near the cafe') and get plugged in.... Help others connect as well.... Great Work People!!
