Deeds of Disbelievers

Vain are the deeds of Disbelievers

}{ The work of he who refuses to follow the way of faith will go

waste, and he will be among the utter losers in the Hereafter.

}}4 Vain are the deeds of those who reject Our signs as false and the

meeting of the Hereafter. Do they expect to be rewarded with

anything except what they used to do?

}}1 As to those who disbelieve, perdition lies in store for them and

Allah has reduced their works to nought.That was because they

hated what Allah had revealed; so He let their works go to

waste.Have they not journeyed through the land to see the end

Their deeds will be lost both in this world and in the

Hereafter.

of those who went before them? Allah utterly destroyed them.

The unbelievers are doomed to the same end.

}{ Allah has caused the works of those who disbelieve and hinder

people from the way of Allah to go to waste.

}7{ Verily, those who refuse to follow the directives of Allah, who

slay the Prophets unjustly, and who slay those who enjoin

justice, give them glad tidings of a grievous chastisement.These

are the people whose works have gone to waste in this world

and in the World to Come. They have none to help them.

The greatest losers in respect of their works?

But (note it well that) whosoever turns back from his religion

and dies as a disbeliever, his deeds will be lost both in this world

and in the Hereafter. All such people deserve the Fire and willabide in Hell for ever.

8}11{

Do the unbelievers think that they can take My slaves as their

guardians beside Me? Verily We have prepared Hell to welcome

the unbelievers. Say, (O Muhammad): "Shall We tell you who

will be the greatest losers in respect of their works? It will be

those whose effort went astray in the life of the world and they

thought that they were doing good. Those are the ones whorefused to believe in the revelations of their Lord and the

Meeting with Him. Hence, all their deeds have come to naught,

and We shall assign no weight to them on the Day of

Resurrection. Hell is their recompense for disbelieving and their

taking My revelations and My Messengers as objects of jest.

Example of the Deeds of Disbelievers

4}8{ This is the example of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their

works are like ashes upon which the wind blows fiercely on a

tempestuous day. They shall find no reward for their deeds. Thatindeed is the farthest point in straying. }4}1

The deeds of those who disbelieved, maybe likened to a mirage

in a waterless desert, which the thirsty one took for water; but

when he reached there he found nothing to drink; nay, he found

there Allah Who settled his full account, and Allah is very swift at

reckoning. Or (their efforts may be likened to) a deep dark

ocean, covered with billows, one over the other, and above it a

cloud: darkness upon darkness: so much so that if he stretches

out his hand, he cannot see it. There is no light for the one whom

Allah does not give light.

All the works of mushriks (polytheists / those who

associate partners with Allah) also go to waste.

It was revealed to you and to all Prophets before you: If you

associate any partners with Allah, your works will surely

come to naught and you will certainly be among the losers."

-}8{ It does not behove the mushriks (polytheists / those whoassociate partners with Allah) to become the guardians and

servants of Allah's houses of worship, while they themselves

bear witness against themselves to their disbelief; in fact, all

their works have gone to waste and they shall abide in the Fire

for ever. Only those are worthy of being the guardians and

servants of Allah's houses of worship, who believe in Allah and

the Last Day, and establish Prayer and pay Zakat dues, and fear nonebut Allah: for these alone are expected to follow the Right Way.

}5{ (O Prophet! Tell them clearly that) it was revealed to you and to all

Prophets before you: If you associate any partners with Allah, your

Then We shall turn to what they had done and

render it vain like scattered dust.

And We shall inherit from him all that he talks of, and

he will come unto Us, alone.

works will surely come to naught and you will certainly be among

the losers."Therefore, serve Allah alone and be among those who

give thanks.

}5}3 The Day, when they see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing

for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!"Then

We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like

scattered dust.

}1{

Have you seen him who disbelieves in Our revelations and says: I

shall certainly be given wealth and children? Has he known the

Unseen, or has he taken a covenant from the Beneficent? Nay,

but We shall record that which he says and, We shall increase his

And on the Day when the unbelievers will be exposed

to the Fire the will be told:

torment; And We shall inherit from him all that he talks of, and

he will come unto Us, alone (without his wealth and children).

}}1

And on the Day when the unbelievers will be exposed to the

Fire, they will be told: You have exhausted your share of the

bounties in the life of the world, and you took your fill of

enjoyments. So, degrading chastisement shall be yours on this

Day for you waxed arrogant in the earth without justification

and acted iniquitously.
