The Group is currently exploring “Reforming the Kirk” by Rev Doug Gay (IBSN: 978-86153-901-7 St Andrews Press) The discussion is to deepen our exploration of developing our churches together and will contribute to the ongoing work of review. Anyone interested should purchase the book and read the next two chapters by the above date.

4. The G uild On Tuesday 26th March the Rev John Martindale will entertain us with “Illusions” with a biblical connection. John has entertained us several times in the past and is a favourite with all Guild members. Please come and join us for a most enjoyable evening.

5. 90kg Rice Challenge Working jointly with Netherlee the Parish & Beyond Committee have agreed that we will take part during Lent with the 90kg Rice Challenge. 90kg is the amount of rice a farmer in Malawi has to sell to enable him to send a child to secondary school for a year and so the participants can directly see that their buying decisions are helping provide a better life for those in some of the poorest communities in Malawi. On Monday 11th March Netherlee will take delivery of 90kg of rice from Malawi. From Sunday 17th March the white rice will be available for purchase in the vestibule here at Stamperland at £3.00 per kilogramme bag. We do hope that as many members of the congregation as possible will participate helping to improve the lives of some of the poorest communities in Malawi.

6. C onnections Magazine - A p ril Submission of articles should be sent in today which is the final submission date.
