Geography.

• I was Utah State MESA Teacher of the
Year in 2012.
• My Teams have gone the National
Competitions for the last 3 years in Denver
Colorado and Seattle Washington.

are followed they will help the class run
much better.

• Set Goals for yourself so you can succeed
at life.
• The more you know the more control you
will have over your what happens in your
life.
• The more education you have the more
money you will make for the rest of your

Policy 1
• Keep as happy positive attitude. Learn
how to talk to your teachers in a respectful
way. Don’t be afraid to talk to me if you
have an issue or problem. I really like
helping students if they are nice!
Policy 2
• Students who forget to bring their
Assignment Log to class will NOT be
allowed to go to their lockers during class
time.
Policy 3
Assignments must be kept in their Portfolio
or 3 ringed binder to be checked at
various times during the term.
Assignments in the Binder could be
checked everyday and will be given
points at the end of the term if you have
kept all of your assignments for the Unit.
Policy 4Bring paper and pencil to class every day.
Always get pencils from
your DEN teacher.
Students cannot borrow
pencils from their regular
education teachers.
Students will be given 10
seconds to get a pencil
from another student in
the class.
Policy 5
Stay in your assigned seats except during
group activities. There is assigned
seating in this class. Students must stay
in their assigned seat ESPECIALLY
during videos.
Policy 9Do not bring food, toys, dolls, cards, electronic
games, CD players or cell phones to class.
These items will be taken away and sent to the
office. This year anything given to the office
must be picked up by your Parents.
• Appropriate use of cellphones will be
allowed if students are using the devices
for science activities and research only.
H Citizenship Classes
Classes that Earn an “H” for citizenship can
earn privileges for begin Great students and
having a Positive behavior.
Policy 10
Accept responsibility for your own behavior.
It’s not appropriate to continue bad
behavior just because everyone else is
doing it.

DON’T TALK JUST LISTEN when the
teacher is in front of the class teaching or
giving out directions.

Time?• Show Mr. Petersen your disclosure statement signed by
your parents.
• This assignment will remain in your Portfolio as
assignment #1.
• Remember Portfolio’s are checked at various times
during the term. If you have the assignments done you
will not have to do Mandatory Intervention.
• You will get 50 points if you can keep all of the
assignments we have worked on during this Portfolio.
• Students who have a hard time keeping assignments
can use the file cabinet to keep their work in.
