The last six months have been jam-packed with activity for the Old Saints. It is wonderful to see the diversity and enthusiasm the Committee has for new initiatives to work with the community, as you will see in this bumper edition of Dovetails. From humble beginnings in 2012, Dovetails has gradually grown from a four-page newsletter to a publication of 24 pages. This is due to much hard work in tracking people down and reconnecting with whom we have lost touch. We love hearing from you!

After holding the position of President for the second time (2011–2012) and (2016–2019) I am standing down to welcome our second child to the world. It has been an honour serving as President and watching the Old Saints grow in stature as we increase our involvement with College initiatives. The Committee was small when I first joined in 2007 and I am proud to say we now have a large, strong, committed and diverse team.

We are always looking for new blood and new ideas and welcome interested Old Saints to join our Committee (we meet only four times a year) to ensure the evolution of the Old Saints continues. I will remain as a Committee member and hope to see many new faces join us in 2020.

ASC Futures Expo

Duncan studied a Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in Photography at Edith Cowan University before going to Gothenburg, Sweden to complete his degree at the Valand Academy of Fine Arts.

Duncan has since run an art centre in the remote Aboriginal community

of Warburton and is currently working for the Edmund Rice Centre in Mirrabooka, developing arts programs for disadvantaged Indigenous youth. He also works as a freelance photographer, predominantly shooting campaign imagery for clients such as the City of Fremantle, Woodside and The Blue Room Theatre. Alongside this, Duncan has an independent arts practice to keep him sane!

Damien is currently Director of Corporate Communications at the State Government Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

Previously, Damien worked as Senior Media Advisor to Premier Colin Barnett for three years; Senior Media Advisor to

Police Minister, Liza Harvey; six years as Sponsorship and Marketing Executive at the Fremantle Dockers; five years reading news on Mix 94.5; 10 years reading news and sport on Triple M Sydney (including four years on the Andrew Denton Breakfast Show) and two years working in radio in the UK. One thing is for sure, Damien doesn’t let the grass grow under his feet!

Did you know?

It was wonderful to have more than 35 Old Saints sharing their knowledge and experience of their chosen careers with our students at the 14th annual Futures Expo on Monday, 10 June 2019.

The Expo allows Senior School students and their parents to learn more about career and post-school pathways by engaging with people from a variety of different industries and institutions. Students always particularly appreciate hearing the Old Saints’ honest comments and advice on their various career paths. The Old Saints are delighted to support this event that is just one way in which All Saints’ is helping to prepare our young people for the future of work and supporting them to reach their career goals.

Luke is studying a Social Entrepreneurship degree online at Ducere Global Business School partnered with University of Canberra, and devotes much of his time to Collective Hope Inc. Collective Hope Disability Support Services is located at the former Gosnells Family Hospital and is currently home to 13 residents who slip through the cracks of government services and require more than just a basic Centrelink payment. Current examples include people with low-care disability, those with chronic drug addiction leaving long-term rehabilitation, homeless people, and those who have just completed a prison sentence. Each resident receives a ‘studio apartment’ comprising a bed, ensuite with toilet and shower, and a desk. Shared facilities include a kitchen, recreation room, gym and several lounges. These residents require support in ways the government does not provide, such as a community of peers and staff who show empathy and support, supervision of daily living, counselling, life-skills development and learning/re-learning employment skills.

As the hospital hasn’t been used for many years, all other rooms still require electricity, plumbing and fitting-out for new residents. The Old Saints’ Service & Endeavour Award of $5 000 will assist in the refurbishment of the old rooms.

Due to a grant received from Lotterywest for $45k, the residents now have a new bus that Luke can use to take them out for the day to Fremantle and the river.

Launched in 2018, Luke Powell (2015) is the recipient of the second Old Saints’ Service & Endeavour Award.Old Saints who express an interest to engage in charity work in Australia or overseas are invited to apply for a grant up to $5 000 to assist in their extraordinary endeavours. The annual discretionary amount is up to $5 000 per recipient with a maximum of $15 000 awarded in any year.

All recipients of the Old Saints’ Service & Endeavour Award are required to return to the College following their expedition or project to make a presentation to staff and students on their experience and the outcomes achieved. They are also required to write an article and supply photographs for the Old Saints’ publication, Dovetails. Applicants must adhere to strict criteria and their proposal must align with the College’s service program by giving back to the community.

Bec has ridden horses since she was a young child, and her passion extends even further to her invaluable voluntary work for Equestrian Australia. Bec is a strong advocate for endurance, and her volunteering commitments exemplify her dedication to national and international endurance competition.

Bec represented Australia at the 2017 World Youth Endurance championships in Italy. Congratulations Bec on being the Equestrian Australia Volunteer of The Month in September.

Layaal became involved with Teach Learn Grow (TLG) at AAll Saints’ and was fortunate to go on the College’s first TLG trip to Bayulu Remote Community School in the Kimberley. This exposed her to the socio-economic and educational disadvantages experienced in rural and remote communities.

Studying Medical Sciences and Economics at UWA, Layaal is the TLG’s UWA Club President, and was recognised for her dedication and commitment recently at the 2019 UWA Guild Volunteering Awards.

Nicki didn’t think when she left All Saints’ that she would end up being a USA Today Bestselling Author, writing seductive contemporary romance stories!

Nicki always enjoyed creative writing when she was at school, but her career started in the corporate world. After the birth of her first child, she dabbled in writing on

an online community forum and joined a critique group. Both her children attended All Saints’ until 2009 when her husband was relocated for work to Houston, Texas. In June 2012, Nicki received her first book contract with a US publisher and since then has gone on to publish more than 30 books, all in the romance genre.

“As part of a group project in 2017, our collection of stories hit the USA Today Best Seller list. I’ve done various signings throughout the USA, and in July I was involved with a large signing in New York City as part of the Romance Writers of America annual conference. While living in Houston we’ve travelled extensively and have visited a lot of amazing places,” Nicki said.

Nicole Flockton (née Hagan, 1987)

After an ‘extended’ GAP year of six years, in 1998 Chris decided to follow his true passion and studied an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts (Lighting) at West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

He worked in Perth as a lighting technician and programmer on corporate and concert events, and on tours for AC/DC, Pearl Jam,

U2 and festivals such as the Big Day Out. In 2003 Chris was offered a position at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and moved to Ashland. He had the opportunity to work on some amazing productions, including King Lear, Hamlet and Merry Wives of Windsor. He moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2006 to work full time in the film business, which allowed him to travel throughout the USA.

Currently working on Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas, he has also been fortunate to work on shows including Twilight, Twin Peaks, The Librarians, and Grimm. Chris is currently based in Los Angeles, California. “I get to work in a field that I enjoy and am passionate about. The technology is continually evolving, so I am also always learning new skills and tools. In my spare time I like to restore Ford Mustangs, ride my motorcycle and go on snowboarding trips in the US and Canada with my wife, Sada,” said Chris.

Chris “Chalky” Chalk (1991)

Researcher Amy has been recognised by the L’Oréal Mentoring Program to support women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine).

Amy loves living in Darwin where she is doing her PhD and works with NT Fisheries on a biological and ecological study

of sharks. Using techniques, including vertebral chemistry analysis, she can gain a better understanding of the various shark species, collecting important data on their reproductivity, numbers and location. Under the L’Oréal program, Amy will be mentored by L’Oréal-UNESCO Women in Science Fellows who have established themselves as exceptional researchers.

Cody is the Founder and Managing Director of RUSH, a production company based in Australia. She studied Film and Television at Curtin University and Oxford Brookes University, UK.

Cody is constantly on the move. Starting her career in London making music videos and brand content, she then moved to LA to join Heath Ledger’s production company The Masses. Her first position in the WA film industry was producing TV commercials for a Perth company called Beautiful Pictures.

In 2016, Cody started her own company RUSH with a view to creating dynamic, local films with an international outlook. Her current slate of films includes three feature documentaries.

Under the Volcano will be the definitive account of Sir George Martin’s studio on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. Here in the relaxed tranquillity of AIR Studios, the perfect combination of talent, technology and isolation produced a wealth of amazing music from artists such as Sir Elton John, Eric Clapton, Sir Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, The Rolling Stones and The Police, among many others.

“The island of Montserrat and AIR Studios is also of great personal significance to me. My mother, Frané Lessac, lived and worked there as an artist during the studio’s operation. The estate of Sir George Martin, has very kindly extended its blessing to this film. Flying to New York to interview Sting

was an awe-inspiring experience.”

“As a relatively new filmmaker, I am excited about the possibilities of the new streaming and distribution platforms, and the opportunities that I see globally which give Australians the chance to be part of an international conversation in ways that would just not have been possible in the past. Over the next five years, I would like to continue to work in the feature film space and eventually move into drama feature film,” said Cody.

In 2018 Cody was selected in Screen Producer Australia’s ‘Ones to Watch’ mentor program, and since then has surrounded herself with industry mentors who offer strong support and guidance on the development of her films. https://rushfilms.com.au/about

Sam was an outstanding artist at school and has recently taken her artistic ability one step further, creating custom charcoal portraits of people and dogs.

“The most important part of an artwork for me is the eyes of the subject, as they can capture a story and give such life behind the eyes. Quite often with dog portraits, I can see the owner taking the photo within the reflection of the dog’s eyes, which I love to capture.”

Being selected as one of the 24 contestants on Channel 10’s 2019 MasterChef Australia series allowed Joe to display his undeniable talent for cooking.

It was a pleasure to welcome him back to the College in August, to show the Year 8s how to make the perfect pasta dish and enlighten the students on what life is really like being on a reality television show.

It was a far cry from graduating at Curtin with a Screen Arts degree! After spending the 2018

AFL season working at the Fremantle Dockers as a Digital Production Assistant, Joe applied for MasterChef and was blown away when he was accepted. The opportunity has turned his life around and his passion for cooking has taken him on to a new career path. His aim? To open a café or restaurant! Joe recently became engaged to his partner Lauren in Italy.

Congratulations to Alessandra for receiving a City of Melville Youth Sports Scholarship.

This is the eighth time Alessandra has received the award since she was 12 years of age. Alessandra is a member of the Booragoon-based SupaNova Synchronised Swimming Club, and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year.

Callum Fairnie (1987)Callum works in Emergency Management with communities and agencies in the Otway Ranges in South West Victoria.

As well as being one of the most beautiful parts of the world, the Great Ocean Road contains some of the worst bushfire and landslide prone areas in Australia.

In his spare time, Callum creates mosaics from a variety of found and recycled objects from rural Victoria, mixed with glass and tiles. Last November he travelled to New York and formed great connections with local art communities, which culminated in his work being showcased in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and an artist-in-residence in Lower East Side, Manhattan, last month. The experience was incredible, and his work is now established in a couple of galleries on an ongoing basis. Fellow Old Saints from the Class of 1987, Russell Howson and Rolf Vickers, travelled from another part of the states and Ireland respectively to view his work.

Living on 10 acres of land in the Otways, surrounded by a variety of animals and his two horses, Callum loves nothing more than mosaicking and horse riding with his wife.

Where are they now? 1985Travis ButlerWhen Travis went backpacking with Craig Larkin, he never imagined not living in Perth again! After a graduate position in Mount Isa as an Industrial Relations Officer, Travis moved to Sydney where he now lives with his wife and three children. When he isn’t at work as Support Services Director for Construction Company CPB, working on a major tunnelling and civil infrastructure project, he can be found stand-up paddle boarding, snow skiing and preparing to run in the New York Marathon in November. After almost 35 years, Craig Larkin remains Travis’s closest friend and he is still a loyal Eagles supporter!

Sonia Johnson (née Reed) Sonia is loving life on the ocean waves after finding a new passion for sailing. Having enjoyed twilight sailing, Sonia was given the opportunity to take sailing one step further and crew in the 2018 Geographe Bay Race Week. From that moment she was hooked! The next thing she knew she had sailed from Perth to Geraldton, competed in the 2019 Women’s State Keelboat Championship and sailed to the Abrolhos Islands. As Sonia’s latest adventure was delivering a yacht from Darwin to Broome, she proves that it’s never too late to learn!

1986NiQ LaiNiQ’s dream at school was to be a professional tennis player, but realising he wasn’t very good, he became an Accountant instead! After graduating from UWA, NiQ moved to Hong Kong where he lives with his wife and two children and is CEO of Hong Kong Broadband Network. NiQ is passionate about supporting the Cambodian Children’s Fund which helps the most impoverished communities receive education.

1987Elaine DanielsElaine is a midwife and juggles her life between working at Peel Health Campus in Mandurah, providing antenatal and postnatal care alongside a GP obstetrician, and as a lactation consultant. Recently she completed extra study to allow her to prescribe certain scheduled medications and order diagnostic tests. Elaine is happily married with two teenage daughters, and in her spare time is a keen member of True Grit, which is a local Muay Thai gym run by Chantel Jones (née Green, 1993). Elaine spends her summer Sundays at the beach helping the local surf lifesaving club.

1990Claire Eriksen (née Gribble)Claire worked in hospitality and accounting before finding her real passion as an Education Assistant. It was great to see Claire back at ASC last term in Year 2, covering staff on Long Service Leave. Claire and her family live on a 2 000sqm block and her love of gardening has transformed the barren patch of land into a lush mass of trees and plants.

Steve WisePrize winning Portrait Photographer Steve has an incredible talent for capturing diverse subjects. Three days a week he can be found at Royal Perth Hospital documenting patients and procedures or dressed in theatre scrubs covering transplant surgery. 1992Gabrielle BrandGabrielle is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Monash University. She is a passionate teacher and researcher with a special interest in narrative medicine. Gabrielle designed and created a series of reflective learning resources using various art forms and collaborated with medical photographer Steve Wise (1990) on the project titled Depth of Field: Exploring Minds, Hearts & Voice Exhibition. This culminated in being awarded the 2017 ANZAPHE Prize for Excellence in Health Professional Education.

Class of 1989 Friendship groupThe friendship group of 1989 has remained just as strong as the day they left ASC. In fact, the friendships have only deepened over time as they have helped each other celebrate life’s milestones and difficulties.

Affectionally known as ‘The Hounds’, the girls got together in March for their ‘30 Year Schoolies Weekend’ on Rottnest. Julie Reany owns Hope Diamonds, and had bespoke bangles made with 1989 as MCMLXXXIX engraved on them to commemorate the anniversary. It’s something they all wear every day as a reminder of our amazing bond.

1998Charles StreetAfter finishing a Bachelor’s in Business, Charles headed for South Africa to play rugby union and complete another year at university. He entered a Graduate Program at the Standard Bank of South Africa where he worked for five years on market leading innovations such as Mobile Banking and Mobile Payments. The highlight of his time in South Africa was meeting his wife Louise. ‘The Street Crew’ (Charles, Louise and their three children) now live in Sydney, and Charles works in Strategy, Digital Innovation and Business Transformation. He doesn’t waste a minute of life as he is also working on his Adventure Travel Business (Inkwazi Adventures), enjoys adventure sports and trail running, and is working on a Doctorate in Business Administration. ‘Why?’ you may ask. Because he enjoys a mental challenge!

2000Nikki Ashmore (née Lambert)Having majored in Public Relations and Asian Studies (specialising in Japanese) at Curtin University, Nikki headed to Japan to improve her fluency in Japanese and teach English. On returning to Perth she organised exchange programs between Perth and Japan, before taking a career change and completing a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. For more than eight years, Nikki has enjoyed running soft skills and computer training programs and is now a stay-at-home mum for her three children.

Jane OatesJane has loved spending many years working in the Pilbara in the mining industry. She has tackled everything from being camp cook to operating heavy equipment. Three years ago she hung up her steel-capped boots and returned to Perth as HSE advisor for an energy company, looking after HSE at their WA sites. “I think my life and work experience has been richer for taking a slightly less academically driven route to my current career. There is a lot to be said for ‘on-the-job’ learning and trade certificates,” Jane said. Jane loves spending time with her twin niece and nephew, the children of her brother, Michael (2003) and his wife Libby Oates (née Senini, 2003), and is a voracious reader.

Dean PascoeBy the age of 29, Dean had completed an electrical apprenticeship and owned his own electrical business. He now works full time as an electrician installing large scale robotic machinery all round Australia. In his spare time, Dean (who is married with three children) enjoys his passion for racing power boats in Perth and Adelaide.

2003Michelle FyfeMichelle loves her job as a Community Paramedic in the Great Southern. She is responsible for recruiting, training and supporting the volunteers who respond to emergencies. She operates as a solo responder, when needed, and clinical back-up to the volunteers in her region, which can be in any of seven sub-centres over a distance of more than 500 km.

Her work has taken her to the Northern Goldfields, the Pilbara, the South Eastern Wheatbelt and her current position in the Great Southern. She is lucky enough to have an amazingly supportive partner who will move just about anywhere she wants to go. Michelle loves to travel, hike, bike and explore the outback.

Hayley ParkerHayley lives happily in New York with her husband and young son, Ted. Working as a Brand Strategy Director at Droga5, a creative agency, Hayley has won several global awards for her work. Her job is to help companies understand people and to shape their product development, marketing and communications in order to grow. Passionate about diversity and female leadership, Hayley recently published a study on working mums and a practical ‘how-to’ guide to help companies retain and grow female talent. At weekends, she loves exploring the mountains in upstate New York with her family.

2007Aaron ThorntonPushing the boundaries is something Aaron always strives to do. Currently living in Timor-Leste (East Timor), he is working as a Civil Engineer for the United Nations Development Program as part of a larger mission to provide access to clean water and improved sanitation to all citizens by 2030. Working to implement water systems in two remote urban centres of Timor-Leste, the project is anticipated to provide water security to more than 2 000 people at a

cost of approximately $100.00/head. In April, he ran 100 km from the front door of his house in Dili to Matebian, the third highest mountain in Timor-Leste.

Zac JamesZac is currently the Associate Artist at Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company. His latest play, Ice Land, is on at Subiaco Arts Centre on Tuesday, 15 October - Saturday, 26 October. It is Australia’s first Hop’era, a blend of opera and hip hop, about the impact of Meth in our Perth community. Zac is also involved with Black Swan State Theatre Company for his next show 1942 – an epic look at World War 2. The James family are regularly seen at the College. Sister, Paige (2017) is the ASC inaugural Indigenous Student Support Assistant, and their family made wonderful kangaroo stew and fresh damper for students during NAIDOC Week in July.

Gary PakDiversity has been part of Gary’s life since he headed back to Hong Kong after leaving All Saints’. After working in the hairdressing industry as a hair salon assistant for four years, Gary totally changed direction and entered the field of security. Starting as a Security Officer, his career developed to becoming Project Manager of a top-tier security consultancy firm, with the opportunity to work on some of Hong Kong’s largest security projects. He has travelled the world for military and law enforcement equipment procurement, international firearm distribution and executive close protection services. Gary believes alternative pathways, hard work and ‘on-the-job’ training can take you far.

2008Kieran KingIn Year 12, all Kieran wanted to do was play professional sport. He was drafted to the Brisbane Lions and was there for just over one year without managing to play a game, but it was an experience that set him up for the future. On returning to Perth and doing some soul searching, he realised that speaking to people and building relationships is what he loves. Kieran is now a Business Development Executive for a national hospitality wholesale company and is busy preparing for the arrival of his first child in late October.

2009Sam BideAll Saints’ Year 11 Politics and Law students enjoyed a trip to Canberra recently and were delighted to catch up with Sam, who is an Adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet at Parliament House.

Linton AberleContemporary dance artist Linton generously took time out of his heavy training and teaching schedule to assist ASC Dance teacher Narelle Codalonga to assess Year 12 Dance students in their practical examination earlier this year.

2010Sammy ChurchillAfter completing a Bachelor of Creative Advertising, Graphic and Digital Design, Sammy realised her heart lay in teaching.

After studying for another degree, Sammy has now worked at Shenton College for the last four years teaching Digital Technologies and Health Education to students in Years 7–11. She enjoys running an IT Girls Club, a STEM Club and designing digital media for events and friends’ weddings.

Loïc DelnatteLoïc’s life has taken many twists and turns since he left ASC. While living in the UK, Belgium, Spain and South Africa, he studied Mathematics and Architecture before completing a Master’s in Civil Engineering. Loïc has now returned to Perth and is working as a Structural Engineer.

Laura Lamb (née Walkemeyer)Country life in Newdegate, a small townsite with no more than 50 people in the Great Southern agricultural region of WA, is a stark contrast to Perth, but one that Laura, her husband and three children absolutely love. Laura is an Early Childhood Teacher who teaches Kindergarten, Pre-Primary and Year 1 in a multi-age classroom of 15 children. There are only 38 students in the entire primary school. Laura enjoys the community life and plays netball and hockey, sometimes travelling more than two hours for a game!

Athina MallisAfter completing Journalism at Curtin University, Athina moved to Sydney and worked freelance for several publications. She now works at an online publication called Which-50, focusing on digital transformation within businesses.

Michael McPhailLife at KPMG working as a consultant proffering advice on marketing strategy and digital transformation is a long way from the urban planning Mrs White’s geography class inspired Michael to study at university! Michael has worked in property marketing, served as Deputy Mayor at East Fremantle Council, and spends his free time kitesurfing, backpacking in countries that enjoy marginal reputations, and loves photography.

Michala (Mickey) NielsenA huge passion for working with animals led Mickey to study Veterinary Nursing and work in General Practice and Emergency and Critical care for seven years. Her greatest achievement is having bought a block of land and building a house by the age of 20! The urge to travel totally overtook her and, after backpacking around Europe, she moved to Canada, living and working in Jasper, Alberta for nine months. Housekeeping may not be her chosen career, but living in the Rocky Mountains more than made up for it. She is looking forward to settling down in Banff for the coming winter season, working on the snowfields and learning to snowboard.

2011Lucy TownsendLucy completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Genetics and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Western Australia, and recently returned to ASC as the inaugural Extension Mathematics Intern for the Junior School.

2012Ash McPhailAsh now lives in Albany where she lives a beautifully holistic lifestyle full of surfing, nature walks and driving her ute on the beach. “If anyone’s found the secret to living well, it’s her!” said her brother, Michael.

2017Jack ConnellJack is studying Film and Video and Advertising at Edith Cowan University and was over the moon to be selected for a part in a new Australian film. The movie GO! is about the competitive world of go-kart racing and Jack plays the role of Ralph, one of the three villains. GO! is a high-octane Australian family film ‘with heart’, and the cast and crew enjoyed attending the Opening Night Gala of CinefestOZ, Western Australia’s largest film festival, in Busselton on Wednesday, 28 August 2019, which featured GO! GO! Will be released on Thursday, 16 January 2020, at Hoyts and Event Cinemas.

The Old Saints’ Scholarship is offered on behalf of the alumni of All Saints’ College and may be awarded to a child of former students (Old Saints) entering Year 7. The recipient of this scholarship will be recognised as having sound academic results and strong community values. Further, the recipient might be a young person who would otherwise not be able to join this community due to financial constraints.

Kimberley and Luke welcomed their son Carter Reid into the world on Friday, 7 December 2018. Carter weighed 3.8kg and was 52cm long. He looks very chuffed in his new ASC shorts!

Congratulations to Scott and Dana on the arrival of William Edward. Cailin and Ewan were thrilled to meet their new brother when he was born on Sunday, 24 March 2019. William weighed 2.44kg and was 47cm long.

Scott Maisey (2002)Simon and Anthea were married at St Mary Star of Sea Church in Peppermint Grove on Saturday, 11 May 2019, surrounded by 90 family and friends.

They met at a Christmas work party and love flourished. After two and a half years, Simon wanted to whisk Anthea up to a special spot in the Perth Hills and ask her to be his wife. It took some convincing as washing her hair took priority, but eventually he won his way. As he got down on one knee, the excitement was too great for Anthea. She screamed and jumped on his shoulders putting his back out!

They had a wonderful honeymoon and managed to visit eight countries in Europe in 28 days!

Heritage Week: Old Saints retain the coveted sports shieldHeritage Week culminated in the annual Old Saints v Students’ Sports Event on Friday, 10 May in the ASC Indoor Sports Centre.The Old Saints were again victorious, giving further weight to the theory that, while we might slow down as we age, perhaps we play smarter, if not harder!

Bush Court to The CommonThe Common has only been the centre of the Senior School since 2008. For just over 25 years this space was occupied by an area known as the Bush Court. It was the original top of the hill and had pathways running between areas of native vegetation. During Heritage Week, large images

of the pre-2008 Bush Court were displayed close to the spot from which they were taken, including some of the creation of The Common in 2008 and the installation of one of the large Jacaranda trees using a crane. More than 6 500 cubic metres of soil was removed to get it flat!

Thank you to former Director of Music Anette Kerkovius and Music Tutor Dan Ablett (2003) on presenting the most delightful choral concert on Sunday, 31 March 2019, with members of the Class of 2014: Christopher-Jack Andrew, James Drane, Kristina Lang, Angus Lawrie, Nicholas Lindsay, Taigh Macdonald and Josh Nichols.

Former ASC Junior School Music teacher Eboney Yapp was also part of the performance.
