BOO!

While our leaves haven’t turned auburn and gold and we’d be crazy to have bonfires yet, we are in the mood for autumn, apple cider, Halloween costumes, and all things pumpkin!

The Cerritos Pumpkin and Costume Walk is just days away, and it’s sure to be a ghoulishly good time! We also have the

Turkey Trot next month, so we need all of our fabulous volunteers to sign up and help us create a fun fall season for our favorite Roadrunners! In the spring, we have another book fair, our annual Spring Carnival, and the Spring Dance. So, keep your eyes peeled for volunteer requests via the SignUp Genius e-mails! We need and appreciate all of your help.

I would like to convey our deepest thanks and gratitude for the volunteers that stepped up to create a successful first quarter from Meet the Teacher Night and Curriculum Night to our Hearing and Vision Screenings, Ice Cream Social, and our Fall Book Fair. These events require a great deal of organization, setup, tear down, and most importantly, happy and energetic faces! So, thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us create fun, exciting, and prosperous events for our Cerritos Roadrunners and close community.

In addition, thank you to our PTO Classroom Representatives and Classroom Photographers. We greatly appreciate your help in delivering information to and from PTO meetings to our parents and teachers, as well as keeping our school and community enthusiastic and eager for our events and fundraisers.

If you have not yet signed up for an event or would like to receive e-mails about upcoming volunteer opportunities, please send me an e-mail at any time: [email protected]. We are always in need of more volunteers!

the community.

With Cerritos’ 20th year anniversary in mind, our AWESOME

boxes for those in need at KFRC (boxes in the main hallway &

the front office to donate PRIOR to 10/24.)

Halloween Costumes (new or gently used)

meat, tuna, peanut butter, pasta, cereal, rice,

dried beans, spaghetti sauce, canned fruits

and vegetables

without everyone synergizing together!

Health Advice from Ms. Collett:

Donations for Health Office

The Health Office is in need of a few donated items for this school year to support our students’ needs:

Boy’s and girl’s shorts with elastic waists (all sizes needed but especially the larger youth sizes for older students)

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Cerritos Health Office!

Thank You for Supporting Our

Fall Book Fair!

Our recent Book Fair was a HUGE success! With your help, we sold over $10,800 worth of books, posters, and other merchandise during the fair. That resulted in more than $2,700 donated to our Cerritos Library!

Fall Classroom Parties

The Fall Classroom Parties will be held on Friday, October 31. Your teacher will announce the time of your class’ specific party. Parents are welcome to attend the party with their child (please do not

bring younger siblings). All visitors must present an ID for security check-in. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow for security check-in, as the volume of visitors to the school increases on party days.

Special Note: Costumes are not worn to school on Friday, October 31. Children are invited to wear their costumes to the Pumpkin and Costume Walk held on Friday, October 24 from 5-7 p.m.

Keep clipping those Box Tops and send

them in to your teacher each month!

Parents should have children wash hands when they arrive home from any public place including school, and before eating food, to minimize exposure to cold and flu germs. Hand washing is one of the best ways to minimize the spreading of illness. Stay healthy, Cerritos!
