HANDLING CLASSESJUNIOR HANDLING ASSOCIATION 223. 6 - 11 years 224. 12 - 16 yearsJudge: Sue Tubb (Alsutu) Handlers who are placed first, second or third in these classes will qualify to compete at the JHA semi-finals to be held at the six national group championship shows. For more details visit www.jha-dog.co.uk. Entries cannot be taken on the day of the show and the dog handled must first be entered in a breed or AVNSC class. FREE ENTRY.

ADULT HANDLING 225. 25 - 39 years 226. 40+ yearsJudge: Sue Tubb (Alsutu)Handlers who are placed first, second or third in these classes qualify for the Adult Handling Association Finals. Entries cannot be taken on the day of the show and the dog handled must first be entered in a breed or AVNSC class.

YKC MEMBERS' HANDLING 227. 6 - 11 years 229. 18 - 24 yearsJudge: Mrs Lisa Gudgin (Jennayr) 228. 12 - 17 years(For fully paid up members only). Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for entry into an YKC qualifying class. Classes for handling are decided by the handler’s age. The classes are divided into three age groups: 6-11 years (6 years and up to, but not including 12th birthday); 12-17 years (12 years and up to, but not including 18th birthday); 18-24 years (18 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please enter the class age category you will be on the day of the qualifier. If you should move into the next age range after you have already qualified, the YKC will invite you into the correct age group at Crufts. The method for Crufts qualification is a points based system as follows: 1st Place = 30 points; 2nd Place = 15 points; 3rd Place = 10 points. Members will receive points per group (i.e. if they handle a bloodhound, they will get points towards the Hound group). If a member gets 30 points in any one group during the year, they will qualify to enter a dog from that group at in the following year’s YKC Handling Crufts classes. If a member gains 30 or more points in multiple groups, they may only compete with one dog at Crufts, but they will have the option to choose from any of the groups they have 30 or more points in. The YKC may have to drastically alter how members qualify for Crufts 2022. This may be because fewer shows were able to hold YKC qualifiers this year, or possibly that we are required to restrict entry numbers to Crufts 2022 on government advice. More up to date qualification information will be released on the YKC website closer to the time. The YKC will endeavour to keep the qualification process as close to the above as possible.YKC handling classes may be the first and only entry for a dog at this show. If, at this show, a dog is entered only into a YKC Handling class (i.e. that dog is not entered in a breed class or YKC Stakes class), that dog must be registered on either the relevant Kennel Club breed register or the Kennel Club activity register. If a dog is entered into YKC handling and any other class (i.e. a breed class or YKC Stakes class), that dog must be on the relevant Kennel Club breed register.

16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route,

and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to

drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available

to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.

Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show.

18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

19. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

20. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

21. The Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of all dogs entered for exhibition and for any property entrusted to it, but it must be clearly understood by exhibitors and any other persons that the Committee will not be responsible for the entire or partial loss, or detention of, or damage to any dog or person for any cause whatsoever, nor for act or omission of themselves, their officers, agents and others, and it is on this understanding only that entries are received.

22. The Committee of the Show can accept no responsibilty for products advertised or sold by standholders at the Show and remind exhibitors that grooming products on sale may not meet the requirements of the Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition (KCSR(F)).

23. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, inluding its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches.
