Open to the girls since April 2016, Future Dreamers Girls Club is a not-for-profit inspirational hub allowing girls and young women aged
12-25 the opportunity to explore, create, build confidence and connect. A space for personal development, social connection and
educational/vocational support, Future Dreamers Girls Club bridges the existing service gap between home and school life.
All inclusive. All invited. For all girls 12-25.
We require sponsors to allow FD to continue to provide incredible workshops and activities, free to the girls and young women of Byron Bay and beyond.
We are seeking sponsors who support the vision of this uplifting, joyous, safe space which celebrates being a girl and aids the
transition into healthy adulthood.

Our beautiful Clubhouse, 24 Marvell St has been generously gifted to the cause including free rent, indefinitely.
FD was founded in 2015 by 4 women, each with different backgrounds and life experience. Some born and raised in Byron Bay, some from Melbourne. Our team has now grown ! We are mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and friends. We understand what it is like to be teenage girls, as we were all teenagers ourselves 'not too long ago' . Within our group we have a broad range of skills and qualifications, including Interior Design, Project managing multi-million dollar developments, Fashion Styling , Events management, Art Therapy, fundraising and Keynote Speaking.
Our ability to provide leadership through example, support by listening and nurture through action ensures a strong and loving foundation from which Future Dreamers can operate.
All founders hold Working With Children Checks and current First Aid Certificates. Future Dreamers is also aligned with social workers, psychologists and youth services if the need arises.

Our Team
Our WhyFuture Dreamers recognises that adolescence is the locus of both crises and opportunity. As a community based initiative, we understand the social, cultural and environmental influences that affect girls residing in Byron Bay. We provide responsive, localised and effective strategies to help girls and young women overcome challenges, build resilience and wellbeing.
We recognise the myriad of influences and modern day challenges that shape the forming individual. Our programs assist girls navigate the journey from childhood to womanhood, and create support networks and meaningful relationships along the way.
What We DoWe offer a range of weekly activities designed to promote physical, emotional and social wellbeing. Both ongoing and one-off, these experiences are age-appropriate, engaging, inspiring and relevant to the lives of teens and young women. We invite in mentors and big sister figures from our community and beyond, to enable the transfer of stories, skills and wisdom between generations. Please refer to detailed program breakdown.

STUDY CLUB
Girls Yr 7- Yr 12 Free tutoring from an experienced Secondary School Teacher

A relaxed environment of educational support, assisting girls with homework tasks & to plan workloads. The aim is to manage stress, build up their core strengths, and identify and create strategies to overcome challenges, in turn increasing confidence and capability.

Promoting health, wellness, stress reduction & body confidence
Creative sessions run over 8 weeks with a new group each term. Each group up to 12 girls.

With special guests each week from various creative professions, the girls are supported to try different medium, exploring issues of importance to them and to unleash their creative imaginings! Primary benefits include enhanced personal expression, creative up-skilling, relaxation and a sense of acceptance and inclusion via a strong, supportive group dynamic.

Full-day nature adventures around Byron Shire + surrounds.
6 x per year; each adventure up to 12 girls.
The girls unplug, unwind and destress from the pressures of social media, technology, school and general life expectations. A potent time to enhance wellbeing, cultivate resilience, foster a sense of adventure, practice mindful risk-taking & strengthen social bonds.
We invite an incredible mentor, either local or global, to connect and share with the girls their particular version of "success" and role model imaginative ways to live aligned true to the individual. Chosen from a diverse pool of expertise and life experience, these real life examples empower girls to dream big!

A variety of workshops throughout each school holiday period. Guided by what the girls want to do, we hold a vast array of events from: Music Mentoring/ Fashion up-cycling/ Vision Boards/ Cooking + Nutrition / Pamper Days / Screen Printing / Wall hangings / Sewing / Outdoor Movie Nights plus lots more...
Each school holiday period. FREE The Girls make new friends and new connections. Allowing girls from different places in the region plus interstate and overseas to attend. To have fun, connect, try out new skills.
Additional Funding will allow FD to provide more programmes currently in the pipeline for the Girls: School Excursions to FD , Rites of Passage (Maiden's Voyage), Schoolies Activities,FD Cafe, Entrepeneur Program, Job Placement, Mum + Daughter workshops (MAD) and more....

"BE WHO YOU NEEDED WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG echos through my day to day life here at Future Dreamers.
As a young woman myself, I was filled with a curious, explorative heart, a scattered creative mind and an unbridled sense of wanting enough independence to explore the world and my surroundings through my own eyes and experiences.
My compassion for humanity and love of talking to trees was not celebrated nor nurtured at school. My quick, independent thinking was frowned upon as I still struggled to pass math class.
I loved the social side of school life, but was completely deflated by the end of days, to be labeled the one ‘who doesn’t fit the school mould’, or merely drained from boredom in a memory based learning environment, rather than learning things that excited my soul and influenced my growth as a young woman.
After school had ended I was even more mortified to learn how much I didn’t know about myself, or the world I was in. The 20’s became a deep enquiry into myself, finding out what I liked doing, and re-establishing a confidence to TRULY BE MYSELF, whomever that was. This took 10+ years of experimenting, trialling, exploring, expanding and nurturing myself. I learnt not to judge the outcome but celebrate the effort of trying new things. Now at 35, I aspire to be the person I needed when I was younger. More to the point, FUTURE DREAMERS aims to be the ‘place’ we ALL needed when we were young. A place that inspires, celebrates individualism, nurtures our differences, gives us tools of resilience, allows independent growth away from family units, promotes a sense of self, confidence, happiness and connection.
Sometimes I refer to Future Dreamers as the place that fills the ‘gap’ school and university don’t offer.
Future Dreamers provides the gap that celebrates young women in all of their truths.
I hope that through the explorations of dynamic events offered at Future Dreamers the girls get a stronger sense of ‘self’ sooner than I did, so they can truly be themselves.
