The Beautiful Broken Pieces Story

I first received the vision for Beautiful Broken Pieces in the winter of 2004. I had been through a bad season in my life and was just about as broken as I could be at that time. I was in the midst of a transition, both naturally and spiritually, when I moved my daughter and I from New Jersey to Maryland to live with my cousin, TMarie.

After relocating, I spent a lot of time in the basement of my cousins home, mourning a failed relationship and really wanting to be alone. My cousin had a lot of things stored in her basement and among them were some glass doors from an old stereo that no longer worked. I asked if I could have them and started the process of cleaning them up. I had quite a bit of tissue paper left over from an art project and thought maybe I could use them it for a new project. At first I thought it was just an outlet for me but in the midst of being creative, the Lord ministered to me through the process of transforming all the broken pieces into Beautiful Broken Pieces.

He first drew my attention to was the tissue paper.

As I pulled it out of the package It was whole, soft and delicate. The way the Lord created me. But then, as I tore it in to pieces, He said, “This is what has happened to you.” All the things that I had been through, some things at my own hand, took me from wholeness to brokenness. Little did I know, I was slowly on my way back.

The Lord then talked about the two-part solution I was using to apply the torn and broken pieces to the glass.

The water, which represented Jesus Christ and the bonding solution which represented the Holy Spirit.. He then said that He was the glass pane, the transparent yet solid foundation. He said to me that over the course of my life I had been broken and torn. But, by taking all of my broken pieces and allowing them to be totally saturated by this two-part solution which would bond me to the solid foundation, all of my broken pieces would be made into something whole and beautiful! A few years later, in the Spring of 2011, the Lord gave me the vision for the art and jewelry line to be made with tissue paper and Plexi-glass. And, in August of 2011, my husband and I launched Beautiful Broke Pieces Fine Art & Custom Jewelry.

My prayer is that Beautiful Broken Pieces will minister to anyone who has had a broken place in their life. And, that each unique pieces will remind you of how unique you are in God’s eyes and that with God, all things are possible.
