WELCOME TO BEAUMONT!
Welcome to the Beaumont Boston Pizza Jamboree. Our tournament committee welcomes all players, team officials, and spectators , and once again would like to send a special thanks to the teams that made a lengthy trip to join us.
We truly hope that all the players, coaches and parents will have an enjoyable time and when the tournament is over, everyone will travel home safely, with memories that will be treasured forever. Hopefully, new friendships will be made, and previous ones renewed. Hot food, soft drinks, and more are available at our concession, and our great volunteer crew can answer any questions that come up. I would personally like to take this opportunity to express my sincere apprecia-tion to all of our tournament volunteers. Through consistent hard work, commit-ment and perseverance, each and every one of you have made this hockey tour-nament a significant life-enhancing element of our personal lives and provided a wonderful and strong sense of social cohesion in our community. Good Luck to everyone, have a great tournament, and most of all have fun! Brian Tancowny President - BAHA Minor Hockey

Welcome to the 2019 Boston Pizza Invitational. We hope to make this a week-end a memorable one for player’s, coaches and families.
Tournament Draw
Attached is a draw sheet for the tournament. Dressing room assignments will be found at the entrance of each rink as well as on the tvs in the lobby. We have lots of games to fit into a tight schedule so please make sure you are ready to start on time. Teams should be ready to go at least 10 minutes prior to game time.
Tournament Awards
Heart and Hustle Awards will be presented to one player from each team after each game. Please remain on the ice for player presentations. We ask that the coach picks one player from your team that you feel deserves recognition for their hard work, team work and enthusiasm for the game. Medal presentations will be made after your 4th game. After shaking hands please have your player’s line up on the blue line to receive their medal.
Tournament Regulations
Please remember this is a recreational draw. The purpose of this tournament is to introduce teams to each other and promote fair play and fun in hockey.
Tournament Rules
The main score clock will be used as the time keeping device for both games simultaneously, but only for time purposes, as no scores are kept.
Teams are required to cycle their players through the goalie position. No goalie equipment is allowed, other than a goalie stick.
Each game will have a 5 minute warmup, followed by a 45 minute game. This will allow for 10 minutes to do handshakes and hand out the heart and hustle awards. Shift length – 3 minutes with an automatic buzzer sounding to indicate player change. The clock will keep running, and both half-ice games will be synchronized.
After the buzzer, the puck should be left where it is, and players will change. Coaches should hold on to the puck until all of the line change has happened.

There will be only one face-off to begin the game. Shift changes and goals will not result in additional face-offs.
There are no official penalties, as there are no official referees. However, at the discretion of the coaches monitoring the games, a penalty may be called on a player and enforced by the coach keeping the offending player off to the side of the game for a period of 15 – 20 seconds.
If play is stopped due to the goalie freezing the puck or a goal being scored, the coach will signal the attacking players to back off at least 3 metres. Once the attackers have moved back, the players may resume play.
For each game, we would like two coaches from each team to be on the ice, one coach for each half-ice game. Each team will be split into two units (one stronger half and with the other half forming the remaining team so that we may balance game play skill for the benefit of the players) this way, two half-ice games can occur at once. In this scenario, the games should be 4 vs 4 (plus goalies). Each team attending the tournament has a roster sufficient to meet the split squad play scenario. If there is an unforeseen circumstance where a team has less than 12 players (ie: injuries), it will be up to the coaches to deter-mine how to best utilize the ice for a game. The game may be played on one half-ice side only, or perhaps two half-ice games of 3 vs 3 (plus goalies) could be played. Teams will share the respective player benches. If both sides have games going simultaneously, ideally each side will play four vs four, plus a goaltender. However, 3 vs 3 (plus goalies) may be an option if team size doesn’t allow for 4 vs 4. If only one side has a game going, it will be up to the coaches to decide whether to play four vs four plus a goalie, or five vs five plus a goalie. The goal is to allow for each player to get as much ice time as possible.
We will be using divider boards to separate the ice in half, and there will be a flood after every second game. The boarding system will need to be moved for each flood. We are asking if each team’s two on-ice coaches in the game that just finished could lend a hand, it will help to ensure that the movement of the divider board system doesn’t take too long.
Please remember that we are all volunteers trying to do the best we can for our kids and the hockey we all love! Mistakes can
happen. Please be patient and courteous.

A sport where teammates are more than teammates. Friends are more than friends. The game is more than a game. Brothers. Sisters. A community. It gives us the opportunity to turn a frozen pond into memories. A road tournament into a family getaway. It’s a tradition. It’s a pastime. It is our life.
