Twitter Meet & Greet When you hear you're going

on a tour of an office, what's the

most you can hope for? Dozens

upon dozens of white office

cubicles; a quiet workspace filled

with the sound of only keyboard

clicks and phone calls from the

boss's office? That's definitely not

what you'll find at Twitter. The

open atmosphere is the first

thing you notice when you walk

in, the way people seem to be

able to work anywhere. There

are employees sitting at their

desks, but also in separate tables

by the cafeteria, even under the

stairs. You walk in, and you im-

mediately think, whoa, I wish I

could work somewhere like

this.

We started off the day with

lunch at Twitter. The food was

insanely good, and although we

soon became full, we pined for

more. After that, we took a

quick tour of Square down Mar-

ket Street on the next block.

The small start up company had

a surprisingly productive and put

together office with the same

great atmosphere as at Twitter.

We went back to Twitter after

that, and we got to talk to three

women on a panel. They told us

about WomEng (Women in

Engineering), and their daily lives

in the office. The final tour, the

one around the Twitter office,

came last. We finished off the

day with some pictures on the

living roof, and then our day in

the job of our dreams was done.

It was so great, there's no way

you could even try to describe it

in 140 characters or less.

Players of the Week

enhanced our skills. We ap-

preciate how hard our coaches

push us. We are always striv-

ing to do better and have much

potential to do so.

We have another

tournament schedule for this

coming weekend and I know

we are going to fight the fight

we until win. We’ll show all

the other teams that we want

it more, and if they think nega-

tively about our team, we will

prove them wrong. We will

fight and fight until we have

defeated the competition. Our

team is like one big family. We

fight like sisters, we love like

sister, we get along like sister,

and we know each other like

sisters. Our coaches are our

guidance and our parents on

the fields. At practice it is like

we are all meeting up for a

reunion, we are all excited to

see each other, and do what

we love. I love my second

family. They are part of the

reason to why I work so hard.

Now that our fall ball season is

almost up, I’m proud to

acknowledge all of the accom-

plishments our team has made,

and all the finesses we have

fulfilled. My team, coaches and

I, can all confess that we all

have plenty of weaknesses to

work on, but we can also

proudly say we have improved

on numerous things. From,

situational hitting, executing, to

defense, communicating, and to

getting our bodies in shape. It

is safe to say that we have

Confidence is the key of the

game. If you lose confidence then

it will really effect your game.

You may practice a lot and do

really well but when you come to

the game your confidence is just

not there. When you step in the

box it's you against 8 other play-

ers striving for the same goal but

you are the one that needs to

stay strong and confident. What-

ever position you are playing

always have the confidence you

will succeed. I know as a player

some people do not have the

best confidence but that is why

our coach has gone out of her

way to help us succeed.

Believing in yourself is an im-

portant part of softball. Any

coach or teammate can tell you

you're a great player, but it can't

help you unless you allow your-

self to believe that you are. You

can gain confidence in what

you're doing by practicing. Lots

of times, if you aren't confident,

it is because you do not think

you can achieve something. If you

put in hard work and notice that

you are improving, you will gain

belief in yourself and you will

have a greater rate of success.

Nothing feels better than putting

in work and seeing results, and

all of that comes from knowing

that you can reach your goals

and achieve success. So remem-

ber, confidence is key!

She fractured her finger in practice on

Sunday, but continued to play. She

pushed through until the coaches made

her sit. She will be out for the next four

weeks, and will be missed tremendously;

she is a huge asset to our team.

Lauren, Hannah, and Alexa

All pitched this weekend and were out-

standing.

The three of them gave up 10 runs total in

4 games- all of the games were close and

they really stepped up and battled.
