PENSACOLA (Nov. 3, 2010) The Great VISIT FLORIDA Beach Walk is Saturday, Nov. 6 and more than 2,000 volunteers are already registered to participate. Beach lovers are encouraged to register online by 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 to participate in the walk and help show the world – with photos from each of the 825 miles – that Florida’s beaches are as wonderful as ever. The registration Web site is www.VISITFLORIDA.com/beachwalk . Event Day Details for volunteers in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties: Volunteers are asked to check in before their walk to receive their Walk T-shirt and instructions: At Pensacola Beach, a check-in table will be located at the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, 6 to 10 a.m. At Perdido Key, a check-in table will be located at the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce, 15500 Perdido Key Drive, 6 to 10 a.m. At Navarre Beach, a check-in table will be located next to the fishing pier, from 6 to 10 a.m. Individual or group volunteers will walk their official mile take a photograph along the way to upload to the internet. Walk- up volunteers are welcome, but pre-registration is encouraged at www.VISITFLORIDA.com/beachwalk . Photos will be displayed in real time at www.VISITFLORIDA.com/beachwalk – where people can vote on their favorite Florida beach mile and be entered to win $5,000 dollars and a Mazda Miata so they can take their own Sunshine State beach tour. VISIT FLORIDA will promote this grassroots photo gallery nationwide, drawing attention through the lenses of everyday Floridians to the fact that local beaches are as beautiful as ever – just in time for the winter tourism season. The Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front Hotel at 12 Via de Luna Drive will serve as the North Florida hub for the Beach Walk operations. Activities and media availabilities will take place all throughout the morning from sunrise to 11:00 a.m. on the beach behind the hotel, as well as in the Oleander Room inside the Hilton. PENSACOLA (Nov. 3, 2010) – The Great VISIT FLORIDA Beach Walk is Saturday, Nov. 6 and more than 2,000 volunteers are already registered to participate.
