Day Two (con’t)5:00 Dinner at Sweetie Pie’sWhen Miss Robbie Montgomery, a 1960s backup singer for Ike and Tina Turner," suffered a collapsed lung and had to stop singing, she decided to pour her talents into another creative venture—a soul food restaurant called Sweetie Pie's.

Day Three9:00 AM St. Louis ZooHome to more than 18,000 exotic animals, many of them rare and endangered. These 700 species represent the major continents and biomes of the world. Set in the rolling hills, lakes and glades of Forest Park, the Saint Louis Zoo, one of the best zoos in North America, is always a great place to be.

Day Three (con’t)4:00 PM Mississippi River Sightseeing CruiseRelax as you take in views of the St. Louis skyline as you travel down the Mississippi by riverboat. Learn about the history of the St. Louis Riverfront, the Mississippi River, the Gateway Arch, and all of the fascinating historic sites along the way. The captain narrates the cruise aboard the riverboat.

Day Three (con’t)5:30 PM Dinner at Hard Rock Café located in St. Louis Union Station. Once the largest and busiest passenger rail terminal in the world, is now one of America’s great marketplaces. Restored and redeveloped, Union Station is a great place for shopping, delicious dining and fabulous entertainment.

Day Four9:00 AM St. Louis Art MuseumLocated in the heart of historic Forest Park, the St. Louis Art Museum is one of the nation’s leading comprehensive art museums with collections that include works of art of exceptional quality from virtually every culture and time period. The group will enjoy a docent-led tour of the museum, including the special exhibit section.

Day Four (con’t)11:00 AM Historic Old CourthouseCompleted in 1862, the Historic Old Courthouse takes you back to the time when Dred and Harriet Scott, both slaves, pleaded with the court for their freedom. The students will visit a restored courtroom from the 1860’s and view exhibits tracing the history of St. Louis.

2:30 PM Meramec Caverns Beneath the fertile rolling hills of the Meramec Valley, lies a complex of mineral formations and color as rare and unique as they are beautiful. These jewels of nature which took thousands of years to grow, are preserved in the spectacular sights of Meramec Caverns.

Day Five10:00 AM Shopping at St. Louis Outlet Mall

St. Louis Outlet Mall is a shopping, dining and entertainment destination for the entire family featuring 12 anchors, including Cabela's and over 170 outlet and brand name stores.

Get set for fantastic family entertainment. It's all part of the St. Louis Outlet Mall adventure. Entertainment options for all ages include iceZONE (official practice facility for the St. Louis Blues), NASCAR SpeedPark, Regal Cinemas 18/IMAX, Putting Edge glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, Plan Nine Skate Park, Island Carousel and the Cubby Caboose Mini Trackless Train.

With over 750 exhibits in a complex of over 300,000 square feet, it is among the largest of its type in the country, and according to the Association of Science and Technology Centers, is one of the top 5 science centers in the United States.

The students will also choose from a selection of IMAX films to watch while at the Science Center.

Day Five (con’t)3:30 Missouri History MuseumThe museum permanent collection includes both national artifacts, as well as Missouri and St. Louis related materials, such as local colonial and native artifacts, Louisiana Purchase Exposition artifacts, and items relating to Charles Lindbergh and his trans-Atlantic flight in the "Spirit of St. Louis.” A replica of the "Spirit of St. Louis" can be found in the museum. A large amount of artifacts from the Lewis and Clark Expedition are also housed in the permanent collection, as St. Louis was the starting point for that venture.
