ISO 14001

Internationally accepted standard that sets out how you can go about putting in place an effective Environmental Management System (EMS)

Designed to address the delicate balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact

ISO 14001 will help you:

Identify aspects of your business that impact on the environment

Understand environmental laws that are relevant to your situation

Produce objectives for improvement and a management programme to achieve them

Carry out regular reviews for continual improvement

Periodically assess the system and if compliant register for ISO 14001

Why is ISO 14001 relevant?

Environmental impact increasingly important issue across the globe

Pressure to minimise impact coming from a number of sources; local and national governments, regulators, trade associates, customers, employees and shareholders

Social pressures are also building up from the growing array of interested parties, such as consumer, environmental and minority non-governmental organisations (NGOs), academia and neighbours

ISO 14001 is relevant to every organisation

From single site to large multi-national companies, high risk to low risk businesses. No matter what sector you are in, whether public or private ISO 14001 is relevant.

Example savings

Our client was invited to re-tender for the food service contract of a large hospital but the new bid included questions about their green credentials of which they had few

We reviewed all relevant parts of the business to identify services where reductions in carbon emissions and improvements in resource management could be made

We transferred the electricity contracts to an accredited renewables supplier, placed their telecoms with a carbon neutral provider and recommended rainwater harvesting systems

Our client made savings of over £14,000 and not only won the tender, but increased the amount of business they did with the hospital as a consequence of their green credentials. Savings of over £14,000
