I strongly support the views in the attached letter from the Brentwood CommunityCouncil, and oppose splitting or dividing the cohesive community of Brentwoodwhich is essentially the area of ZIP 90049.
Your proposal is tantamount to having Northern CA elect one of our Senators toCongress, and Southern CA elect the other Senator.

Subject: Brentwood Community Council Request Re US.Congressional District Split
Dear Honorable Commission Members,
The Brentwood Community Council ("BCC") includes all stakeholders inthe 90049 area code. The BCC has 1 representative from each of its 13geographical residential homeowners assbciations, 1 multi-familyrepresentative, 2 members-at-Iarge, and 8 representatives from business, educational, religious, public safety, non-profit, and environmentalorganizations.
Brentwood integrates its community activities, works closely with the localVeterans Administration, which borders Brentwood, and facilitates theresolution of all types of land use, educational, safety and other issues as onecommunity.
It is with deep concern that in the first plan the Commission dividesBrentwood into two Congressional districts. In addition to dividing theresidents, the plan creates a division along San Vicente Boulevard, whichcuts through the middle of its main Business District and does not includethe Veterans Administration. Brentwood has worked diligently with the VAover many years to initiate programs and to improve, maintain and protectthe contiguous land and its use. Brentwood does not want less efficientrepresentation, which would be the inevitable result of a division of itsdistrict.

The Brentwood Community Council strongly recommends that theCommission reconsider the U.S. Congressional District to include the entirecommunity of Brentwood. The boundaries should remain from MulhollandDrive to the North, the 405 Freeway to the East, 26th Street to the West andWilshire Boulevard to the South. Any division within those boundarieswould be considered a detriment to our community and would change thedynamics dramatically that we have worked so hard and long to make aunited and thriving community.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,Lf1tiAAUf #/l-UdJvM~Nancy F&edman, ChairmanBrentwood Community Council
