Presentation software, like

PowerPoint, allows the

visual organization and

communication of concepts.

You can customize your

presentations with color,

pictures, sound, animation,

charts, graphics, narration,

and video.

In PowerPoint you create

individual slides.

When you put all the slides

you create together you

have a presentation.

You can change the slide

layout or design.

The layout or design is how

things are arranged on the

slide.

You can change the

background color or style of

the slide.

You can also change the

font style, color and size.

The font is the style of lettering

or text.

You can insert text (letters or

words) on your slides.

Insert means to add or place.

You can insert pictures (clip

art or photos) on your slides.

You can insert graphics (like

charts or diagrams) on your

slides.

You can add animations to

your slides.

Animations make the pictures

or text on your slides move

around.

You can add transitions to

your slides.

Transitions change the way

each slide moves to the next

slide during a presentation.

You can add sound to

your slides. You do this by

adding a sound (like a

sound effect or music) to a

transition or animation.

When you have all your

slides and run your

presentation it is called a

slideshow.

When using PowerPoint

You must always

remember to properly save

whatever you are working

on before you leave class.
