Solar PV – what to expect
• Generate 1,100 kWh per
year, or ~ 200 kWh per 2-
month billing period
• Cost $3,000-4,000 to install
4 solar PV panels = 1 kW (1,000 W)
3
Average BC house consumes 11,000 kWh per year

• Started in 2004
• Tariff Rate Schedule 1289
• Eligibility:
• Residential and commercial customers
• Up to 100 kW
• Clean and renewable energy source (solar, wind, hydro)
• Open application window – come when you are ready
• Simple process, no cost to interconnect to the grid*
• Requires full load displacement before payment (annual basis)
• Annual excess electricity is paid at a rate of 9.99 cents/kWh
• Technical requirements = DGTIR/100
• Electricity flow is measured by Smart Meter
