WELCOMETONORTHVANCOUVER!

The North Shore Winter Club is a celebrated family athletic club serving the Greater Vancouver Area. Home to a rich history of hockey, members at the North Shore Winter Club have enjoyed the benefits of a friendly social environment since 1958.

Ideally located at the bottom of Mountain Highway just on the north side of Vancouver's Second Narrows Bridge, the North Shore Winter Club has become a prominent symbol of British Columbia's proud tradition of inclusive athletics and overall family fitness.

this championship a memorable experience for all our guests – players, team

officials, parents, and officials.

Vancouver’s North Shore is the place to stay to discover Vancouver from a whole

Vancouver’s premier attractions. Outdoor adventures abound with top‐notch

mountain biking trails, rainforest hikes, and more.

North Vancouver is just minutes away from Vancouver and it’s easy to get to with a

quick trip across the Lions Gate or Second Narrows Bridges. For families that want

to hit  the  slopes,  it’s also  right next  to Grouse Mountain, Cypress Mountain, and

Seymour Mountain. World‐class resort, Whistler Blackcomb, is a 90 minute drive.

Shopping, dining, coffee and pubs can be found throughout the North Shore, great local places can be found in the Lynn Valley Village or Lower Lonsdale,

including the famous Lonsdale Quay Market.   One of the best parts of North Vancouver is the stunning wilderness right at our back door. Forests, trails, playing fields, golf courses, and mountain peaks provide our community with an enviable array of choices when it comes to recreation. Check out Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge, Lynn Loop, Rice Lake, Deep Cove, or one of the many other local outdoor attractions.

PLAYERCONTRACT It is the intention of this contract to promote fair play and respect for all participants within the Association. All players must sign this contract stating that they will observe the principles of the Fair Play Code before being allowed to participate in hockey. FAIR PLAY CODE I will play hockey because I want to, not because others or coaches want me to. I will play by the rules of hockey and in the spirit of the Game. I will control my temper - fighting or "mouthing-off" can spoil the activity of everyone. I will respect my opponents. I will do my best to be a true team player. I will remember that winning isn't everything - that having fun, improving skills, making friends and doing my best are also important. I will acknowledge all good plays and performances - those of my team and my opponents. I will remember that coaches and officials are there to help me. I will accept their decisions and show them respect. I will observe the rules of BC Hockey such as the Zero Tolerance to alcohol and banned substances. I know that if I break this Fair Play Code, I will be subject to governing bodies’ disciplinary procedures.

I agree to abide by the principles of the FAIR PLAY CODE as set by Hockey Canada and supported by the Association. I also agree to abide by the rules, regulations and decisions as set by this Association.

TEAMADMINISTRATORS’CONTRACT It is the intention of this CONTRACT to promote fair play and respect and respect all participants within the Association. All sport administrators must sign this CONTRACT before being allowed to participate in hockey and must continue to observe the principles of Fair Play. FAIR PLAY CODE I will do my best to see that all players are given the same chance to participate, regardless of gender, ability, ethnic background or race. I will absolutely discourage any sport program from being primarily an entertainment for the spectator. I will make sure that all equipment and facilities are safe and match the athletes' age and abilities. I will make sure that the age and maturing level of all participants are considered in program development, rule enforcement and scheduling. I will remember that play is done for its own sake and make sure that winning is kept in perspective. I will distribute the fair play codes to spectators, athletes, officials and media. I will make sure coaches are capable of promoting fair play as well as the development of good technical skills and I will encourage them to become certified. I will observe the rules of BC Hockey such as the Zero Tolerance to alcohol and banned substances.

I will not condone the athletic use of alcohol, drugs or banned performance-enhancing

substances.

I know that if I break this Fair Play Code, I will be subject to governing bodies’ disciplinary procedures.

I agree to abide by the principles of the FAIR PLAY CODE as set forth by Hockey Canada and supported by the Association. I also agree to abide by the rules, regulations and decisions as set forth by this Association.
