Ladies

Flordelyn Abaga Acain Isaiah 41:10Flordelyn was born into a Roman Catholic family and studied in Catholic School until she graduated. However, she did not fully understand what it meant to have a strong relationship with God. When she came to Singapore in 2012, she started attending the BBTC Filipino ministry. This was when she started to grow in her understanding of God and culminated in her being touched and convicted by the love of God the Father and Jesus as her Saviour.

Leah Desamparado Bacus Galatians 2:20Leah was born and baptized as a Roman Catholic. In December last year, she was invited to the BBTC Filipino ministry and has been attending regularly ever since. Each time she comes, the worship and sermon without fail would speak to her heart. In February this year, Leah finally accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour.

Rosebella Baroy Sabanal Colossians 2:6-7In 1991, Rosebella attended a Don Moen Praise and Worship concert in the Philippines. She was going through a difficult time and words of the songs spoke to her heart and ministered to her. At the end of the concert, she felt so joyous and light and re-dedicated her life to God. Subsequently, she and her family came to Singapore and started attending the Filipino ministry. Blessed by God with musical gifts, she and her family serves in the music ministry. She declares that she and her household will serve the Lord.

Luisa Layon Calabia Philippians 3:13-14Luisa was born into a Roman Catholic family but did not fully understand what it meant to have a relationship with God. When she came to Singapore to work, Luisa was invited to the BBTC Filipino ministry. She decided to be baptized and during the first baptism class invited Jesus Christ to come into her life as her Lord and Saviour. Luisa is thankful she is now a child of God and understands baptism to be an outward testimony of her Christian faith.

Chia Choo Lian Shirley John 10:10Shirley received Jesus into her life as Lord and Saviour in 2009 during a time when she had struggles in her life and her family. During the times when she was depressed, she was comforted by the presence of the Lord during worship. Her life is more stable now and she would pray at night to intercede for her family and her relatives.

Natalie Chia Psalm 28:7Natalie came to know about Christianity at a young age when her mother brought her to church to attend Sunday school. However, she stopped attending church regularly when she went overseas for further studies. However Natalie has always held on to her faith and when returned to church a year ago, she made a decision to re-commit her life fully to Christ.

Chng Yi May Yvonne Galatians 5:1Yvonne was invited to church by her best friend and in 2004 and received Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. Since then, she has experienced God’s faithfulness and the peace that she could always trust in Him. She experienced this peace during the toughest period of her life when her Dad was ill and where she found support and comfort through her church friends. Yvonne is also thankful for God’s abundant blessings in her career.

Ma. Lenette E. Garay Psalm 111:10Lenette was born in a Roman Catholic family. When she came to Singapore to work, she started attending the BBTC Filipino ministry. She decided to be baptized and it was during baptism class that she she truly understood the Christian faith. God spoke to her and she repented of her sins and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. She now knows that baptism is not a way to salvation but a testimony of her faith that Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Maggie Ho Luke 9:23In 2014 when Maggie was feeling down, her friend brought her to a church where she was ministered. The same friend later sent Maggie a copy of the sinner’s prayer which led her to pray and invite Jesus into her life as Lord and Saviour. Now, as a new believer, she helps herself to grow in her relationship with God through the reading of the bible and through joining a cell group.

Claire Gonzales Peneba Galatians 6:14Claire was raised by her Christian grandparents and has been attending church since she was young. However, going to church every Sunday was simply a routine habit for her. She felt something empty within her, something missing in her life. When she was in high school, she attended a youth camp. The question posed by the speaker: “Who is Jesus in your life?” convicted her and there she received Christ into her life. After the prayer, she felt Jesus embracing her and understood what the bible meant that Jesus is the giver of life.

Phyllinda Tan Shu Ning Colossians 2:6-7Phyllinda journey with God started when she was fresh out of university in 2013. Being insecure and eager to meet the expectations of others, she felt lost in her job search. Encouraged by a friend to seek God, she prayed and God soon answered her prayers. Phyllinda started attending BBTC soon after. During a service, a pastor shared about how God’s love is freely given to those who believe and that she need not do anything to earn God’s acceptance. Touched by the sharing, she accepted Jesus and has never looked back since.

Christine Tan Shu Hui Proverbs 3:5-6Christine was brought to a church by her mother at a young age. However she gradually drifted away from her faith. During the time around her ‘A’ levels, she sensed something lacking in her life. She was invited to BBTC for an outreach event and has since settled into a cell group in BBTC. She is motivated to know Jesus through His word and seeks to apply what she has learnt in her life.

Tan Siew Yong Proverbs 3:5-6Siew Yong came to believe in Jesus through her friend more than 8 years ago. However she did not attend any church services or join a cell group.
