Indian Government should take a Lenient Stand on

Battery Scrap– Shanti Kumar Ramsisariya –

General Secretary, Federation of Indian Small Scale Battery Associations, Delhi

Federation of Indian Small Scale Battery Associations has written to the central government and said

that the rules made for importing lead scrap/used lead acid batteries should be made a bit lenient so that the battery importers do not have any problem in importing scrap.

The General Secretary of the Federation, Sh. Shanti Kumar Ramsisariya has written that those battery manufacturers who have made the application with all the required documents on the website of the government and if the documents have been found to be correct by the respective department, they should be immediately sent to the CPCB for scrutiny. If the CPCB officials find that everything is according to the rules then they should be immediately sent to the expert committee for approval. If this happens, the battery manufacturers will be able to import lead scrap on time and the position of the Indian Government will become stronger.

T h e n e e d s o f the ba t te ry manufacturers are not fulfilled by the Lead available in the country, that is why Lead scrap/used lead acid batteries will have to be imported from other countries.

But because of the complex process followed by the government, the permission for importing this scrap takes a long time. Despite having all the documents and filling the application online, one has to deal with a lot of government departments including the Central Pollution Control Board, CPCB. It takes about 4-6 months for the importer. The Government should make a few changes in its policies regarding the import of lead scrap so that they are able to manufacture the maximum quantity and strengthen the economic position of the country. The letter written to the Secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry on 21st October is as follows:-

Am I standing here as a Governor of Telangana? Am I standing here as a Doctor? Am I standing here

as a women on Women's Day? No, I am standing here because; I am a very humble devotee of our Swami Satya Sai Baba. I am thrilled today, so many times I have planned to come to Prasanti Nilayam, so many times. I was unable to come to this holy land.

Regular Pray at the Swami's Golden FeetI am a regular visitor of Sundaram

at Chennai whatever may be the time. Whatever, that is 7 o'clock or 8 o'clock or even I had gone to Sundaram by night

Governor of Telangana Excellency Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan

Salutes to Swami for totally Free Medical Service

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan who is not only the first woman Governor of Telangana but also the youngest among all the Governors of the States, is the Devotee of Bhagwan Shri Satya Sai Baba. She was the Chief Guest on the occasion of Women's Day, 19 November, 2019 at Prasanti Nilayam, Puttaparthi. The speech of Her Excellency is given as under-

12 o'clock. No Thursday goes without me, visiting Sundaram if I am in Chennai, whatever, may be that time. If my meeting gets over by 11:30, I will be at Sundaram at 11:45 because I gain the strength for the whole week on the Thursday from our Swami's Golden Feet.

Whole day Energetic Strength

The whole day strength, I gained on that step where I went to our Swami's place and gained the strength. And apart from that, as I mentioned here so many times, I have tried to come here because I can recite my first visit to Whitefield, it is my husband's friend doctor Mohan, who

took us to Whitefield and my child was much younger from that time. I started praying our Swami Baba and I can recite very important incidents where Baba influenced me. Totally towards him, it was introduction.

Grace of SaiI want to congratulate Shobana

Swaminathan for excellent musical program. I think her performance was aided much more beautiful way because it is actually grace of Baga in the Prashanti Nilayam. And I have to recite that I started, I was not a regular visitor of Sundaram and, then and there, I used to go to Swami's place.

Political Career & MiracleAs it was introduced here from my

basic membership, I rose to the level of president of BJP, it was in the year 2001 when hon'ble vice president, Vainkaia Ji, was our National President. I just joined the Party in 1999. I joined the party and I was very young member in BJP. He came and I was not much introduced to the people of Tamilnadu as well as the people of our Party so he called me and told that day there is a fill station to the All India Office Bearers so I had to compare that program. I was excited by that call but I was suffering from a very bad throat

on that day, very bad throat. I was unable to express even my simple words on that day. So I called by, I was working at Ramachandra medical colleges as an assistant Professor at that time, so I called my husband and told that our National President had given me as such a great opportunity but I don't know, how I could perform, because I am in very bad throat. As a doctor, I know the way, it at least will take 2 or 3 days for it get resolved. So I called my husband and told that I want my throat get it cleared. Then I want to take some medicine, then I told him the way it is only ordinary tablet could not resolve it, so I can take some injections so that it could be resolved at all. To some extent, I got into the lift one devotee of Baba... Swami Baba, gave me a photo of Baba and he gave me some Kalakand. I put it in my mouth, it was, I got into the lift from the first floor. My husband's room was in the third floor. I went there, then I went to my husband's room. I was talking to him. Then he asked me, what happened, your bad throat... My voice was very crystal clear. I can say it's a miracle. But as I am a doctor, I know how long it will take to get resolved that sour throat with conjetion and with eczema. That was the first experience; I had with our Swami Satya Sai baba. So I have not here just words.

SAISHARNAGATI

I have come to express my inner feeling each and every minute I am guided by Baba. Each and every minute... he has guided me during my success, he

has guided me during my failures, he has guided me on the most difficult days of Political career.

new telecoms networks etc. The country has only two options for meeting the demand of lead. These are, (i) import of pure lead and (ii) import of lead bearing wastes and production of secondary lead. These seen from the point of cost effectiveness as well as the im-pact on the environment, the only option which could be sustain-able is import of ULAB/lead Scrap and its recycling to produce sec-ondary lead. The import of lead scrap/used lead acid batteries need the autho-rised recyclers to obtain permission from the MoEFCC for which an online application system, SOP and other requirements have been prescribed on the Ministry’s website. The applications are ap-praised in the esteemed Ministry by an expert committee, the ap-plicant industries are also inspected by CPCB for verification of the SOP and report submitted to the MoEFCC for further consideration and recommendations of the expert committee. The process takes a minimum of 4-6 months assuming holding meeting of the exert committee every month. The industries are inspected by CPCB in all cases of new applications (first time applicants). It may be noted here that the letter to CPCB for inspection of the applicant industries is issued by the Ministry only after the applications get placed before the committee, even though the details and docu-ments submitted by the industries include photographs and a video CD of running plant. In other words there is no processing of such applications even for writing to CPCB for inspection without their getting placed in the meeting of the expert committee. It may also be mentioned here that the consents, authorizations issued to the industries have their validity specified therein. The last (97Th) meeting of the committee was held on June 3-4, 2019. The 98th meeting of the committee which was scheduled to be held July 22-23, 2019 got cancelled for reasons not known to us and there has not been any meeting of the committee thereafter. It can also be seen from agenda of the 98th meeting which remains

displayed on the website till today that out of the 13 applications listed 6 are new applicants. There is therefore no progress even in respect of the Ministry’s asking CPCB for inspection of these six industries.

REQUESTWe therefore appeal to the MoEFCC that the new applications may be examined by the concerned division itself in the Ministry and letters sent to CPCB for inspection of all those industries whose applications are found complete as per the requirements specified on the website. The applications of these industries along with the reports of their inspection by CPCB may then be placed before the expert committee for appraisal and recommendations.

The development and conservation of the lithium ion battery which seemed to have become a

challenge for the lead acid battery –three chemical scientists- 91 year old Professor B. Goodenough of Texas, America, 77 year old M. Stanley of Britain and 71 year old Akira Yoshino of Japan have been honored with the Nobel prize.

The development of the lithium ion battery makes possible the production of these devices that are much more revolutionary in the field of on-the-go computing and calling. With this battery the storage of energy from renewable sources will become easier and it will have an important role in the fight against global warming. The lithium ion battery is the first portable and rechargeable battery in the true sense. Its development will take more than a decade.

The scientist who is responsible for creating a better technology in the invention of the lithium ion battery is the

oldest of the three- Professor John B. Goodenough of Texas University who is a German born American engineer and whose age is 97 years. Besides him, the second is 77 year- old M. demands of electricity.Statistics tell us that in the near

future there will be a golden opportunity for the lead acid battery industry. At present the business of the Indian battery industry is 300 billion US $ and

the battery industry consumes about 1.05 million tonnes of lead and there is a strong possibility of this doubling in the next 10 years.

During the ceremony organized in Kochi the Governor of Kerala, Sh. Arif Mohammad Khan is giving the ‘Media One Business Excellency Award-2019

to the Chairman of Orion battery, Mr. M.P. Babu.

Business Excellency Award to OrionIn the field of battery production the prestigious company of Kozhikode, Kerala Orion Batteries was awarded the Business Excellency Award 2019 for energy conservation.

The Chairman of Orion Batteries Sh. M.P. Babu was awarded the Media One Excellency Award for energy storage by Media One TV. This prestigious award was given by the governor of Kerala, Sh. Arif Mohammad Khan. Senior officials of the State government and industrialists from other industries were also present on this occasion.

Indian Government has removed various taxes and imposed a uniform GST but even the dealers and

government officials do not have in-depth knowledge about it. What this entails is heavy losses for the producers and the government officers make merry.

When battery manufacturers go out to buy raw material, they and the government both incur losses. Only two people are benefitting from it, one are those who are selling goods by making fake bills and the other are the administrative officers who are involved with them. The concerned administrative officers do not even know that GST is imposed on the basic rate of goods or on ready goods. Their only intention is to financially and mentally harass the industrialist by showing their clout.

The difference that is there between the bill with GST and with the basic rate is causing quite a lot of loss to the industry. The basic rate of the raw material of lead acid battery, i.e, lead is 139 rupees and if 18% GST is levied on it then this figure becomes 162.20

rupees. The small buyer does not like to purchase material by giving white money. He can get the same material by not giving the GST and getting it for 151 rupees. Both the seller and buyer benefit from this but the government is incurring a loss. That is why, those who work in white money have to bear losses because in such a situation their goods do not get sold. The person who sold the goods saved half the tax and it went into his pockets whereas the buyer had to pay only half the tax. If he had taken the entire bill in white then he would have had to pay about 164 rupees for it.

This caused a loss of about 25 rupees to the government. In this way, the government is losing lakhs of rupees in revenue everyday. Besides this the manufacturers and sellers who are selling the goods in white are not able to sell it because of the high taxes and the consumers are buying from those who are doing bogus billing.

Because of this those people in the battery industry have to bear huge losses who sell their goods after imposing GST. The complaint has been made to the concerned officials. It might be recalled that on 29th March 2017 the Central and State governments had passed a law to impose a common tax on different goods. After the consent of the President the central government had implemented it across the entire country on 1st July 2017. All taxes such as VAT, central excise tax, Luxury tax, service tax, entertainment tax and entry tax had been removed and a single tax, i.e, Goods and Services Tax, had been imposed.

is the only worthwhile achievement.– Shri Sathya Sai Baba

Seeing the worldwide threat of dangerous pol lut ion, many private companies are in race to

check it through its latest technologies. They are planning to enter in the field of Electric and Electronics. In India, they are trying to apply latest technology in our product but facing many problems. In this connection, Government of India is also planning to set for Electric Vehicle charging Stations for Electric Vehicles. But in future, there will be many issues before the electric vehicles’ owners not to appropriate network of charging infrastructure throughout the country. Therefore, Government of India has issued the new guidelines for the electric vehicles. The new guidelines ensures that at least one charging station should be available in a grid of 3 Km X 3 Km in the cities and one charging station at every 25 Km on both sides of highways/roads.

As per Government, it is said that It has been envisaged that in the first phase, all mega-cities with a population of 4 million-plus as per census 2011, all existing expressways connected to these mega-cities and important highways connected with each of these mega-cities may be taken up for coverage. In the second phase, big cities like state capitals, Union Territory headquarters

may be covered for distributed and demonstrative effect. Power Ministry of Government of India has issued the guidelines, in this connection, for EV in December 2018.

The changes in the guidelines were made after the Power Ministry received a number of suggestions from various stakeholders. After careful examination, it was decided to adopt some of the suggestions and issue the revised guidelines.

Ministry of Power has issued the revised guidelines and specifications regarding the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the starting of October, 2019 and shall supersede the earlier guidelines.

To address the range anxiety in inter-city travel and long-range or heavy-duty EVs, it has been provided that fast-charging station for long-range or heavy-duty EVs like buses or trucks shall be installed at every 100 Kms, shall be installed one on each side of the highways or road located preferably alongside the Public Charging Station (PCS). A statutory body under the Ministry of Power, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has been nominated as the Central Nodal Agency.

Further, a provision for State Nodal Agency for the respective states has been provided in the guidelines. The roles of the respective Nodal Agencies have been specified. These Nodal Agencies will act as the key facilitator in the installation of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles throughout the country. After this, if other problems will arise in this system, Government will think again and try to review considerably.

The university, which has a pact with Tesla, describing a lithium-ion battery that should be able to power an electric vehicle for over 1 million miles while losing less than 10 per cent of its energy capacity during its lifetime.

For more than a decade, Tesla engineers have been obsessed with making the world's most efficient electric vehicles. As a result, Tesla vehicles already travel farther on a single charge than any other production EV on the market.

It is known through sources that Model S and Model X cars can achieve nearly 600 kms and 525 kms per charge on a 100 kWh battery pack and Model S and Model X are now capable of

achieving 200 kW on V3 Superchargers and 145 kW on V2 Superchargers. Together, these improvements enable customers to recharge batteries 50 per cent faster.

Tesla is currently conducting large-scale improvements to the Gigafactory, aimed at automating its battery module production line. Tesla's choice of cylindrical cells sets it apart from other EV players.

The company also uses a liquid-cooled thermal management system to manage battery temperatures whereas other automakers take a more economical air-cooling approach. Tesla will probably figure out mass market, cheap cars way quicker than their competitors.

The ‘rasam pagdi’ took place at his birth place - Sewak Road, Siliguri. The prominent battery people of Siliguri and Kolkatta were present on this occasion to give their condolences to the grieving family. Late Sh. Shankar Lal Agarwal

Sh. Naresh Tomar of BMR Industries, Pilkhua, lost his mother on 8th November. Besides Meerut, Delhi and Ghaziabad, prominent battery people from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and other States came to console the grief-stricken family and the leading battery people of the country sent their condolences and paid their respects to her. Smt. Ramvati was a housewife and a deeply religious lady. The Battery Directory family prays to God to give peace to her soul and stands with the family of Sh. Naresh Tomar in their hour of grief.

Many things are required to make a complete battery and big battery manufacturers

establish large plants for this. They make different processing units in it investing large amounts of money but there is one deprived section of the industry that plays an important role in the industry. Although they are fearful of the administration while doing this work, they are more scared of their belongings getting stolen. This section has to bear the beatings of local goons and thugs and face a lot of losses. If the government makes some law for them they will be able to strengthen their financial situation and also benefit the battery industry.

Some people collect the last bits of scrap from the factories of lead manufacturers and take out lead from it using their own technique and sell them to factories making batteries, although that scrap is useless for battery manufacturers. Such people must be present all over the country.

The rate of lead in the market is around 151 rupees at present and these people buy this waste from the factory at about 100-105 rupees. They process it accordingly and sell it in the market at a few rupees cheaper which fetches them a good profit. They clean the material and sell it in the form of a slab.

Besides the battery people, those who make toys also buy this scrap for making toy batteries.

If the government provides them financial aid and gives them the freedom to work then their financial condition will improve and the battery industry will also benefit. The recovery of lead from the dust of factories is not something that everyone can do.

The government should set up such units in the respective work areas so that their livelihood is secured. This will not destroy the environment there and greenery will be maintained.

the government it will be very helpful.

Factory owners provide employment to the unemployed and tax to the government. Do not kill us by

giving us slow poison. If you want to send us out of Delhi then it is our plea to the State government that it should bring out such a policy that industrial areas should be declared as refugee areas and the problem be solved once and for all. Besides the battery manufacturers other factory owners have been forced to move out to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. They feel as if they have committed a crime. The government and administration’s threats compel them to gradually move outside Delhi. Almost all departments of the Central and State government that include the MCD, DPCC, Labor and fire, etc are into harassing the factory owners. Why don’t they pass an order at one instance that no factory will be allowed to operate in Delhi.

Problem of license renewal

Now, the government does not need their tax also. Each department asks for each other’s license and no license is being renewed. In the manner that all the traffic comes to a standstill when the traffic lights are not working, similarly the business of the battery industry is going to stop.

The government should certainly make laws to control pollution because it is everybody’s problem. But the State government should also take care to see that if all owners of battery industries leave Delhi, how far will

Pain of the Battery Industry and other Industries in Delhi

the problem of unemployment reach? Will unemployment not cause more problems of looting and other such incidents? Will not the educated and unemployed youth turn to crime in the face of unemployment?

Increasing the Rates of Labors

The government has increased the rates of labor the most and has strengthened its vote bank but where will those unemployed people work in the absence of factories, the government has given no thought to this. Will not the factories shift to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh where the labor is almost half that of Delhi. If there are 50 workers in a factory and if each is paid 5000 rupees less then the owner saves about 2.5 lakhs. He will save by moving out of Delhi but what will you do about unemployment The condition of business is very bad.

There is no money in the market and as it is one recession has hit people hard. There are no savings. The stricter the laws you are making the more is corruption increasing. Contrary to this, the respected Prime Minister claims to decrease laws and end the inspector-raj, which is laughable.

Declare industrial areas as free-zones

You should declare all industrial areas of Delhi as free-zones and the problem will come to an end automatically and unemployed people

will become prosperous. The Delhi government says that the laborer should be paid a minimum of 15,000 rupees monthly if the owners do not have money, they will take their business to neighboring states. Not only this, if the laborer was earning 10,000, he will be deprived of that also. Is this logical?

Corruption in Fire LicenseBattery industries have to obtain

the fire license. But the government has made fire laws so stringent that nobody is able to meet them. If anybody is meeting them, then surely there must be corruption in it.

Notice: Close down factories

Every person wants to make profits, not losses. One does not stop traffic if an accident occurs, and not everybody is told to get their licenses again. One should take accidents like accidents.

Contrary to this, the Pollution Department straightaway sends closure notices, without asking for any clarification from the owner –there is just one order - “Close the factory”.

The corrupt off icers of the government go to concerned owner of

the factorya and straightaway issue the notice. One should pinpoint the mistake of the factory owner and fine him for it. If he does the same mistake again then increase the fine but at least give him the opportunity to work.

Construction of buildings is very difficult

Today, it has become very difficult to construct any building in Delhi. The amount that is spent in giving bribes to the people in different departments is enough to construct one floor of any building. In trying to please everyone, the happiness of the businessman vanishes.

It is the humble request of all factory owners to the government departments that we should be encouraged. We give employment to the unemployed and taxes to the government. Do not kill us by giving us slow poison. If we have to be sent out of Delhi then the State government should bring a policy that declares industrial areas as free-zones and put an end to the problem once and for all. With the policies that are being made the rates of outside land has increased tremendously and those in Delhi have decreased.

All over the world, the maximum e-rickshaws are running on the roads of India. There are

about 15 lakh e-rickshaws at present. According to the figures available about 11 thousand e-rickshaws are added to the roads each day.

The estimate is that by 2021 there will be an increase of about 9% in the number of 3-rickshaws. This number is much more than the number of electric cars in China, although the Chinese government gives a subsidy on the purchase of electric cars. Seeing the usefulness of e-rickshaws the Uttar

Pradesh government had used 300 e-rickshaws in the ‘Kumbh Mela’.

E-rickshaw- EconomicsWe can understand the economics

of e-rickshaws through the following two models:-

Model 1: E-rickshaw Distributor.Model 2: E-rickshaw Driver.In the e-rickshaw distributor model,

the distributor takes the e-rickshaw from the e-rickshaw manufacturer and taking the battery from the battery producer he prepares the e-rickshaw. The

e-rickshaw driver takes the e-rickshaw from the distributor daily by paying him rent. He gives a rent of 300 rupees daily. In the other model, i.e, e-rickshaw driver model, the driver himself buys the e-rickshaw and battery and himself maintains the e-rickshaw.

Now we will try to understand how the battery with a guarantee of 12 and 6 months influences both these models. We will understand this through a table-Table-1. The table makes it clear that whichever model you adopt the maximum profit accrues from the battery that is guaranteed for 12 months. From the below table one can see the possibility of a bright future for battery manufacturers.

According to statistics, there will be a need for about 8 million batteries (0f 12 month guarantee) every year. Which means that the market for e-rickshaws will be about 5280 crores each year.

This estimate might be on the lower side because e-rickshaws are influencing many areas directly –like reducing the pollution, increasing opportunities for employment, increasing the respect of e-rickshaw drivers etc. But all this is possible only when the battery has a lifespan of at least 12 months.

Some people might be thinking that if the lifespan of the battery is of 6 months, then from 5000 crores the market can go up to 10,000 crores. But this will be entirely wrong. That is because in this situation more lead acid batteries will be required. As a result, the price of the batteries will increase because lead is available in limited quantity. This can cause disorder in this sphere and it is very important that you make batteries that last 12 months. For this we should find out the causes of failure of the battery. For this we checked a total of 142 batteries of big and small companies and found 739

faults in these batteries. The maximum failures (44% or 323 ) were because of faulty positive plates. 29% or 214 were because of faulty negative plates , 26% because of separators and 1% or 8 faults because of wrong assembly. (See graph-1)

When we indicated these faults in more detail we found that the faults in the positive plates were those of erosion of the grid, the breakage of the grid, falling of material from the plate or the plate becoming soft, sulphation, etc. The faults in the negative plate were the swelling of the material, mosing and overbridging. In the separator the faults were hydration, etc. Amongst the most common faults was the falling of material from the negative plate. See this information in Graph-2.

An e-rickshaw is available for about 10 hours daily. Out of these it is in use for about 3 hours. Each time it is used for about 1 -20 minutes. It is switched

on and off about 50 times. The battery discharge is about 60-70%. During running about 17-25 amperes of current is discharged. 14 hours are required for charging. All the above make the situation of the battery very critical.

Now we will see how sulphates are formed because of the manner in which e-rickshaws operate.

For example an e-rickshaw is available for 10 hours a day and for each hour it operates for about 18 minutes. After a drive of 18 minutes, not much battery is discharged in the remaining 42 minutes. If during this interval 6% lead sulphate has been formed and since the e-rickshaw is not being discharged during the next 42 minutes, but the amount of lead sulphate is increasing. Another 6% lead sulphate will be formed in the next one hour. At this stage, two types of lead sulphate are formed. The sulphates that have been formed in the first one hour

Graph-1

and those sulphates that were formed later, have different shapes. That is why their charge accepting capacity is also different. Similarly at the end of the day about 10 different shapes of lead sulphate are formed that have their own charge accepting capacities. The beginning of the failure of the battery is with the sulpahtion of the negative plate. Because of sulphation the battery starts breaking down and after passing through the separator there is possibility of it meeting the positive plate and a short-circuit occurs. This short-circuit causes heat in the cell and the material from the negative and positive plates starts falling. This starts collecting in the separator and grid starts eroding.

How to increase the life-span of the e-rickshaw

In order to increase the life-span of the e-rickshaw we will not just find a solution to sulphation, but also pay full attention to other factors. For the negative plate material we will have to take such a chemical that can reduce the swelling of the material. This work

is very successfully carried out by the discrete nano tubes of the black diamond structure. With regard to the separator we need such a separator that has a proper tortuosity. For more information see Table-2 on next page.

We have found that batteries with discrete nano tubes have shown better performance than flat batteries. The flat batteries that are available currently remain good till 200-250 cycles and if carbon discrete nanotubes are used the cycle reaches 300-350. If a tubular battery is made with this new technique then the cycle can go up to 1000. At present a new technique is being focused upon which is bipolar. (See Image-1)

It has been seen that the bipolar technique has made a very good impact on the battery’s working capacity. The following uses have been seen of this technique:

1. The flow of the current in the plate’s material was equal. As a result, there was a jump in energy and the life-span of the battery increased by 50%,

which means that earlier it used to take 40 hours to reach 130 Ah in the monopolar design while having the same current and voltage of 130, in bipolar this time was now reduced to 10 hours.

2. Additional lead will not be required in bipolar batteries. And cycle of 1500 can be obtained with these batteries.

Guidance of SaiI am not expressing my just words

here, I have come to express my inner feeling each and every minute I am guided by Baba. Each and every minute... he has guided me during my success, he has guided me during my failures, he has guided me on the most difficult days of Political career. Here as a representative of women who I am standing here, I am really excited to know that our Swami Baba... Sathya Sai Baba made all the women proud by celebrating November 19th as exclusively women's day. So I foresee how He has thought about the womenhood. For women, politics is not an easy job, it is men's field, I can say, definitely men's field. Like Judiciary aware, Hon'able Judge how she can recite her experience. So it is the men's field, the most difficult days, I have narrated so many incidents with my well-wishers while going in the car, so many days. So I have to salute to the grace of our Baba because He showed the wishes of her mother, saying that definitely we should have an institution for women and Baba fulfilled her desire so we have to narrate this with our most proud moment that our Baba made our women as graduate when it was not thought of by others. And it was the wish of His Mother the people are suffering from diseases they need a simple Hospitals.

Medical Assistance Total Free

Another thing when I heared about Baba's craze, I was working as consultant at the child's hospital, we used to treat newness and when we find cardiac anomalies particularly patients, ductus deferens, arteriosclerosis, simply to save because madam cardiologist only introduce me. I am here, and simply telling in coloqual words whole in the heart, we used to tell that your baby is suffering from such cardiac anomaly. It will take some lacs to get it treated, so we used to give the estimation but to a surprise and miracle after 30 to 35 days we used to follow baby who came here got it rectified freely lakhs and lakhs of rupees worth surgeries, organised and conducted totally free. Because I used to tell, when I was practicing, when I got rounds people will be in a much worried manner. I used to tell them don't get worried... don't be worried. We will find the cost of the disease; don't worry about the cause of the disease. They used to tell, I am not worried about the cost of the disease, we are worried about the causes of the disease.

Here, I was heared that al l Departments are here. Cardiology Department is here, Nephrology Department is here, Gynaecology Department is here and Paediatric Department is here. No... there is no any building Department here... that is

that is the beauty of our Swami.

the beauty of our Swami. Because as a Doctor, I should not tell myself.

Once, two or three persons were sitting in the reception hall of dentist. There was a full of noise. Two persons were interacting, one person told, why there is a big noise in the consultating room of the dentists. Then one person told, the dentist is extracting the teeth. Then after that the noise still was much higher. The other person told that after complete extraction of the teeth why still is more noise. The doctor who extracted the teeth now is extracting the bill so only the filled is too much. Now it is the most costly profession business. But I should salute and my humble Pranam to our Swami for rendering this medical service, totally free. So as a doctor, I can feel the burden of the patients getting relieved by coming to Satya Sai hospital so this is my humble feeling I thought, I should express here. And apart from that, I told each and every time, even my difficulties.

Miracle of VibhutiPolitically if I have some heaviness

in my heart, in my mind, I used to go to Sundaram just I go to the prayer hall and put all the words at the Golden Feet of our Swami and I used to leave the place with much light heart. That only help me, so as I narrated to come to Prashanti Nilayam

so many times but Baba wanted me to come as a Governor for the first time to Prasanti, this is Baba's Wish. He wanted his humble devotee to enter Prashanti Nilayam as a Governor so my Pranam and my Humble Respects to our Baba and whatever may be even now, what all the Vibhuti is same having I pray all the temples, go to all the temples but the Bibhuti each and everyday I put on my forehead is Baba's Vibhuti which I get from Sundaram each and every Thursday. Not that, these are the words from the bottom of my heart and apart from that as woman, I have learnt and studied so many advices given by our Baba.

Women's ActivitiesI was reading about, as I have to

come to Women's Day women or the creatures who are facing the challenges each and every day in the life in a much harder way than it was part, much harder way. Because a women, as a daughter, as a mother, as a daughter-in-law, as a mother-in-law, as a teacher, as a doctor, women face much challanges as it is told the certain the introduction. Women should, I want... I was talking to Vasundhara Raje Sindhiya who was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. She was telling me as a woman to get at

SAISHARNAGATI

least considered for a post, not to get considered for a post, we have to work 10 times more the our counterpart women, that is true. We work ten times to get considered. I'm not blaming the society but the society is like that.

Swami's AdviceOur Baba has taught us how to

counter what are the difficult situations in our life. I was reading about our Baba's advice to women, He was in a program, He has told. All women face the marriage life. We are faced all marriage life. When we enter in new home, and subland of dignity that has rendered to you by the grace of God, so don't fight with your mother-in-law. He is telling; don't fight with your mother-in-law. Your mother-in-law may be a senior person, that's what I was astonished by the advice of Baba. He don't want a proper young lady no... no let your mother-in-law tell you are the child of God. He di'nt tell that you respect your mother-in-law foresee a day, if you are not respecting your mother-in-law foresee a day, you may be facing a day daughter-in-law, you may be mother-in-law in a later days of forsee the day. And another thing is advising is telling, practice for a gentle character of sacrifice. The word, gentle character of sacrifices, don't think that I am sacrificing in my family,

no .. no.. this is my gentle character of sacrifice. So when we give something only women can get so many things. So you practice that your mother-in-law may be in practice, may be having some foreside, she may be having a very wide experience. She may be, so we are family in much longer days than you. So you respect your mother-in-law.

Love for Keiei ParrotI can narrate one incident in

Ramayana, because I correlated this with Swamiji's advice, Sita went to forest with Rama and all the people from the palace were going to Sita, her relatives, friends, Well wishers and So on. Sita seeing all of them excited and she was asking KEIEI a parrot is OK. So enquiring a small flash back... no, these are very fond of birds and animals, we know the troubles, she got when she was dear to dear. So Rama after marriage, got a parrot to her, you see Rama's character in that also, she called took the parrot and she gave it to Rama told you got a very beautiful parrot to me. So now I tell, I want to coin a name to this parrot, you tell me the most lovable name to you. He d'nt have his mother's name, he told KEIEI is name. So you can coin a name of KEIEI Parrot to this. So she made that KEIEI Parrot and she was calling KEIEI

parrot is like that, when came a period that she left for the forest with Rama. So she called the servants and enquired about the parrot, when she was telling, why I enquired about the KEIEI parrat because whatever may be the situation in the Palace. But why I particularly enquired about the KEIEI parrot, the word, she was asking whether the KEIEI the parrot gave food to it, gave protection to it. Then she was telling, the world should not feel and think because that the parrot had the name of my mother-in-law. I didn't care about that, that blame should not come to me. So you see even during Ramayana days is itself so this mother-in-law, daughter-in-law's problem is there. So we are all very simple people... small people... so we have to face that. So when we see foresee a problem is much bigger way. The problem which we are facing will become very... very negligence, very small problem. So that is why, Baba says, Swami Baba says the make a problem is a very small problem which will be resolved, desolved so that you see the other bigger problem faced by the other. So as a woman, we should be very courageous, may vary with conviction with concrete thoughts, we have to face in the life.

Don't be Disappointed from Criticism

Baba Swami says another, I used to get criticism as a lady, we can see that more than men, women whatever we speak whatever we act, actually, we get more criticism. So throw down criticism I was opening the Baba's message, there I read one message. So many times, I have experienced. If I go and open the book of Baba's message, that would

be the answer of that Political or that harder situation which I faced on that day. I just opened, Baba says if there is a letter coming to your address, if you are receiving that letter it is yours. If you are not receiving and you are sending back to the addressee, that is, his. So whatever may be the criticism you don't receive in your heart you don't hear it you just send back the criticism the person who sent it so it is best. So whenever, I recived or I faced with any critisism, I used thing in my home. I have not received as Baba said I have not received this letter this criticism is of the person who did that so let it go to him. So these all the blessings and the advice which we got from Baba so as a woman who is standing in front of you a humble devotee of our Swami Baba and I as a doctor and even she was respecting and responding to his mother's request whether it was to inaugurate women college or simple school or hospital or river to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) whatever may be, he respect his mother. So only He planned to celebrate a day for women. So we feel our craze towards as by our Baba and I am really happy to be here and as our Baba is guiding each and every day. We will be the strongest personalities in the world. Nobody can sake anybody, be courageous, be courageous as our hon'ble Judge told if women are couragious enough, they can face any problem. Women are not for even crying. Please enjoy the beautiful world, don't compromise your happiness for anything. Life is for living, our Swami Baba is guiding us, so let us live our life with full happiness with the guidance of our Baba. My wishes, best wishes with all my humble respect to Golden Feet of our Baba.

SAISHARNAGATI Birth of Sai

Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra was because of Sai Kripa

A ‘BHANDARA’ was organized in Sai Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra, Leprosy Centre, Tahirpur, Delhi

one day before Dusshera, on 7th October on the occasion of the 101st death anniversary of Sh. Sai Baba of Shirdi.

After a ‘Bhajan’ session of one hour, the General Secretary of the Sansthan, Sh. Chandra Mohan said that he wanted to tell something about the premises where they were sitting and singing ‘Bhajans’ in front of the Sai Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra so that they should know how that temple and the premises came to be given to them by the grace of Sathya Sai Baba.

In 2002, i.e, 17 years ago, Sh. S.K. Jayaraman used to reside on this plot of land with his wife Smt. Sati Devi Jayaraman. Both were leprosy patients and both were devotees of Sai baba. They had a great desire that the children of Leprosy colony, Tahirpur, who used to pick up plastic from the streets and fight with each other and were slowly moving towards a life of crime, should get the education of the human values propagated by Bhagwan Sh. Satya Sai Baba so that they could become good citizens. In 2002, they contacted us and gave this proposal. Shri Satya Seva Sansthan was just two years old at

that time and our sources were almost nil. We told Sh. Jayaraman to contact the trust of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, but he was denied any help from there. At that time there was just one dilapidated room at this place. In the rest of the area there were piles of garbage and it was open from all sides. In the middle there was a large Peepal Tree which is still there. He and his doctor son, Dr. Prasanna Rao Atreya came to us many times during one year and we expressed our inability.

At the end of 2002, resident of Vasant Kunj Smt. Veena Verma, devotee

Sai Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra, Tahirpur Leprosy Ashram was started in 2003 under a Peepal

Tree with 21children in the beginning.

of Bhagwan Shri Satya Sai Baba (Swami), who used to get ‘darshan’ of Bhagwan baba during the daytime, called me. She said that Swami was saying that this work had to be done by us only.

According to the wishes of Bhagwan Baba the class of the Bal Vikas took place under the Peepal Tree on 5th January, Sunday, 2003. On the first day there were 21 students in the class. The number of students increased very soon and there were 70 students.

Since the money of a registered Sansthan cannot be used without any basis, therefore according to legal advice Sh. S.K. Jayaraman and his wife Smt. Sati Devi signed an NOC in favor of the Sansthan and handed over this piece of land on which they had a right since 40 years to the Sansthan so that it could start a Bal Vikas program for the children of the leprosy patients of the colony. Sh. S.K. Jayram became an Executive Member of the Sh. Satya Seva Sansthan (One photograph of one of the meetings of the executive body is also published here). The Sansthan had a fixed deposit of about one and a quarter lakh rupees in the Bank. On the basis of this fixed deposit we took a loan from the Corporation Bank and started the construction of

this Sai Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra on 12th June, 2004. The first brick of the foundation of the construction of five rooms was laid by the patron of the Sansthan Sh. B.K. Sharma (Retd. IAS) (See the photograph). The name of the Sansthan was also given by Bhagwan Baba. We got a donation of one lakh rupees from the Mishra Charitable Trust to make a room in the memory of Late Sh. Rakesh Sharma who was the well-known sports journalist and son of retired IAS officer Sh. B.K. Sharma. The inauguration of this room was done by the Legislator Sh. Veer Singh Dhingan and Municipal Corporator Ch. Ajit Singh on 21st July 2005. Sh. B.K. Sharma and his wife and daughter were also present on this occasion (The photograph of this event is also published in next page). Sh. Satish Mittal (The present president of the Sansthan, Boss Battery Container), Sh. Mahendra Kumar Gupta (A.K. Auto Agency, Kolkatta, the then Vice-president of the Sansthan) have also given financial help in the construction of the Sai Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra. The four walls of the Sansthan were made, rooms were made, the stony soil was removed and yellow soil was put so that plants and grass could be planted, play areas and toilets for children were

made. Teachers were also appointed there. A sewer connection was given, and water motor and tanks were also installed.

After some years, the Swami have given the instructions through Smt. Veena Verma that a Sai temple be made under the Peepal Tree.

I asked where the Murti of Sai Baba for the temple would come from? The Swami replied through Veena Varma, “Dr. Rammilan Dubey will give the Murti.” Dr. Dubey accepted that he would provide the Murti. When the construction of the temple was completed I went with Sushil Sharma to Dr. Dubey to get the Murti. Dr Dubey got the Murti down from the ledge where it was kept and was putting the ‘Duppata’ around its neck after cleaning it and there were tears in his eyes and he said, “Look, what is Baba saying? He is saying that ‘you are sending me away from you?’ Dr. Dubey said that the Murti was divine, since Baba was resident in it and Sai would help whoever prayed to Him and came to his refuge. The unveiling of this Murti of Sai in the temple in the premises of the Sai Jagriti Bal Vikas Kendra, was performed on 18th July, 2008 on the occasion of ‘Guru Purnima’ by the

Regional Legislator Sh. Veer Singh Dhingan, Municipal Corporator Ch. Ajit Singh and the General Secretary of the North East District of the Congress committee. On the occasion of the 86th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Sh. Satya Sai Baba on 23rd November 2011, Computer and Embroidery classes were also started in the Center. The Chief Guest of this function was the Legislator Sh. Veer Singh Dhingan. I got the thought of telling you about the divinity of the Center and I am telling you about it. Smt. Sati Jayaraman left for her heavenly abode on 11th August 2008 and Sh. S.K. Jayaraman on 19th August, 2010. It has been 16 years since
