GMDSS RADIO BATTERY CAPACITY TEST REPORTVESSEL NAME: IMO No.: GRT:

As per SOLAS Chapter IV, Regulation 13.6.1, the capacity test for GMDSS Radio batteries carried out on at .Rating of battery fitted on board is 12V, 180Ah x 2nos.Discharge TestAn equivalent load of 24 A, consist of nos. of and no. bulbs connected in series on 24V DC of reserve battery power. The batteries were disconnected from battery charging arrangement and test started at hrs.The record of battery voltage & specific gravity at various intervals recorded as below:-IntervalBattery VoltageSpecific Gravity

The load of watts was disconnected at hrs when voltage of each battery dropped to approx. V and specific gravity dropped to (approx) from the initial fully charged condition. To avoid battery damage and protect the life of battery no further discharge was carried out.The computation of battery capacity endurance test is as under:-Load connected in Amperes= = AmperesNo. of hours load connected under continuous discharge = hrs to hrs = hrs.The battery capacity = Load (A) x No. of hours = AhAs evidence with above test, it concluded that the Battery provided on board for GMDSS equipment is complying the requirement as per SOLAS.The minimum no of hrs. as per SOLAS Ch IV Reg 13 is 6 (Six)RECHARGE TESTINTERVALBATTERY VOLTAGESPECIFIC GRAVITY

BATTERY ABATTERY B

Under this state of batteries, battery charger was connected and battery got fully charged in hrs. as the specific gravity reached to & respectively and voltage reached V.This time period is less than 10 hrs. as required by SOLAS Ch IV Reg 13.6.1
