Chris Landry has long felt a call to serve the Lord with his life. As a young adult, he prayerfully considered the priesthood and discerned his vocation was to married life. After college, Chris married Mollie, his high school sweetheart, and they have been married for 32 years. Originally from Assumption parish, Chris and Mollie Landry were both active members of St. Elizabeth and St Jules clustered parish. Both were baptized, confirmed and married in the parish and raised their three sons there as well. Chris and Mollie currently own a food manufacturing business. Chris has been in the food business for most of his professional life, and Mollie was an educator in both public and catholic schools for over twenty years before starting to work for their family business. Throughout the years, Chris continued feeling a call to serve the Lord and discerned that he was being called to the permanent diaconate. In 2015, he entered diaconate formation and began preparing to dedicate his life in a new way to serve the Lord and His people. At the start of Chris’s diaconate formation, Chris and Mollie moved to Gonzales where they have been involved in many ministries in several Parishes. Chris was ordained on August 8, 2020. Please help Chris and his family feel welcomed.

Dear Friends: SCHOOL HAS BEGUN! I started off the week with our faculty, for their work days and an a ernoon of reflec on. The reflec on was led by Mr. Sco Losavio, a parishioner of St. Jude and Director of Campus Ministry at Catholic High. My thanks to Sco and to our en re faculty and staff and a great start. Our first day of class was Friday. It was so awesome to see our children again. Even though we were all wearing masks, everyone’s spirits were high. Please keep us all in your prayers as we journey into a school year filled with uncertainty. This weekend we also celebrate First Eucharist. Due to the size of our class and the social distancing requirements, we had the need to schedule 2 First Eucharist liturgies, one at 1:00pm and one at 3:00pm. My congratula ons to our children and their families. Again, all of these major events are taking place during a difficult me. The excitement, nonetheless, is s ll there! Congratula ons again to our children, and thanks to all of our catechists and teachers! Please keep me in your prayers, as you remain in mine. Sincerely,
Fr. Trey Nelson Pastor
As Catholics, we are called to uphold the values and teachings of our church. On November 3, there will be a vote to pass the ‘Love Life’ amendment in Louisiana. Please vote YES and encourage everyone you know to go vote YES for this very important amendment. Put it on your calendar so that you do not forget to go vote. This is very important. Sadly, 13 other states have protected abor on in their state cons tu ons. By passing the Love Life Amendment, we will protect life by making sure there is no right to abor on or the funding of abor on in the Louisiana Cons tu on. We should all be strong opponents against abor on and what has become a legal way of murdering babies. Because it was not stopped early on in some states, they are now doing abor ons almost up un l the due birth date. Please, please be ac ve in not allowing that to happen in Louisiana. Jesus told us to protect the children and those that cannot protect themselves. We are all followers of Jesus and his modern day apostles who are called to be ac ve in upholding and protec ng God’s laws.
Please go vote yes to protect the unborn.
Thank you my friends. May God bless you
and your families always.

Con nual Air and Surface Pathogen Reduc on (C.A.S.P.R.)
Simply put, this is a device (a cylinder) that is installed into our exis ng ven la on ducts in church and provides a con nuous (24‐7) environmental disinfec on of the space. It is organic, odorless (other than an ini al “clean” smell), and leaves no residue (see photo of diagram). There are 7 in all throughout our church’s system, and they provide a con nuous disinfec on of the en re space. So, if anyone asks how our church is being sani zed, just tell them “C.A.S.P.R.” You may watch the informa onal video posted on our YouTube channel. I men on this to you for 2 reasons: first, I want you to know that we have been working hard to prepare as healthy and safe a space as possible for you, and second, to thank you for your financial stewardship that helps to make these types of investments possible.

Culture of Life Reflections
“Although we may feel unsure how best to comfort those who mourn, we must stand with them in their time of suffering. Miscarriage touches the lives of many people, yet all too often this tragedy remains unaddressed. This lack of response not only often leads to unresolved grief, but also fails to clearly manifest our belief that each person, from conception onward, is precious and unique.”
