the removal of unnecessary ornament was believed by the revolutionary Bauhaus movement of the 1920s to lead to a new functional beauty. michelangelo had much the same idea four centuries earlier.

the continuation of form following function has been demonstrated throughout the sottini collection by brilliant designers such as robin levien, royal designer for industry, and internationally acclaimed nilo Gioacchini and Franco Bertoli.

each piece of sottini porcelain has been carefully crafted and detailed to be as efficient as it is beautiful. the unique designs of the mixers and taps have been given the same consideration and are crafted from solid brass and plated in chromium.

Idealcast The strength of cast iron with half the weight. idealcast is a composite of resins and minerals, which is cast onto the reverse of a vacuum formed acrylic shell. This creates a very rigid product, comparable with the solid feel most people associate with cast iron.

planninG your Bathroom

Careful planning and research is the key to success with any new bathroom. Fitting a new bathroom is a chance to review how you want to use the room. think about who uses it and how much space you have. Get a good idea of what you want from your new bathroom before you start and it will make your planning that bit easier.

start by accurately measuring the internal dimensions of your bathroom, taking doors, windows and radiators into account as well as any architectural features such as sloping ceilings. mark the existing plumbing points such as water supplies, water and soil outlets. now experiment with the layout of your new bathroom. take time to explore the possibilities, check the dimensions of each item you are considering and make sure there is enough activity space around each item. wherever possible try and use the existing plumbing – it can be costly and time-consuming to re-route the water supply and waste pipes. sometimes however, moving sanitaryware around may considerably improve your space. seek professional advice from a qualified plumber.

once you have confirmed the new layout of your new bathroom, you can decide on how you want your bathroom to look and feel. Bathrooms are usually the smallest room in the house, but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style. reflective surfaces such as chrome, glass and shiny tiles will help bounce light around the room. Clever lighting can be used to create the mood of the room, and with several different lighting options, you can transform your bathroom from a bright, functional area to one with a softly lit, relaxing atmosphere. remember to plan your lighting so that the necessary electrical work can be done at the building stage.

spend a little extra on the flooring. wipe-clean surfaces are the best and larger tiles can help create a sense of space. don’t forget to create plenty of storage space, using fitted furniture or shelving, so you can tuck your medicines and beauty products out of sight. this will leave a beautiful, clutter-free space to relax in.

ImPorTANT cLEANINg INFormATIoNIt is important to clean your shower door after every use, wiping down all the glass and metal parts with a soft cloth and removing any residual water.

clean regularly with warm soapy water to avoid lime scale build up, especially in hard water areas. Limescale that is allowed to build up will be difficult to remove.

do not clean with gritty or abrasive products; they will destroy any surface coating or protection.

Never use powder detergents. Liquid detergents may be used if they are free of alcoholic substances.

Never use products such as ammonia, acetone, alcohol and the like because they may permanently damage your bath screen.

care should be taken to avoid contact with strong chemicals such as organic solvents and strippers.

7 The guarantee is transferable ‘it applies to the product not the purchaser’ provided guarantee registration details are passed on to the new owner.

purchased and installed in the United Kingdom or the republic of Ireland.

2 Proof of purchase is required in the event of a claim.

3 Provision of the barcode/serial number will be required to enable product identification.

4 We must be given the opportunity to inspect the product, if we request to do so. The product should not be removed or destroyed before inspection without our consent. We may request photographic evidence in any investigation.

5 The product must have been installed, used and cared for in accordance with our instructions for installation and care. In addition, the products must have been installed in accordance with good plumbing practice.

6 Where our on-site investigation reveals that the reported fault was not due to manufacturing or materials defect a callout charge will be applied.

7 Where we are satisfied that a defect has arisen because of faulty manufacturing or materials we will, at our option, repair or replace the product free of charge to you. If we choose to replace the product and we no longer manufacture the identical model we will replace it with the nearest equivalent in our then current range.

8 This guarantee does not apply to general wear and tear or where, in our opinion, the product has been modified, misused, neglected or wilfully or accidentally damaged.

9 This guarantee does not cover consequential damage or loss.

10 This guarantee does not cover damage and/ or malfunction caused by inappropriate cleaning (please refer to our recommended care and maintenance guidelines).

11 mildew build up, the effects of limescale and corrosion are not covered under this guarantee.

12 glass breakage and any consequential damage. (All glass used conforms to EN12150-1 where applicable). Breakage of glass is not covered by the guarantee as glass by its very nature can shatter.

13 Warranty is not transferable in cases where product is reinstalled in subsequent locations.

14 Non glass or metallic spare parts (e.g. seals and bearings) are subject to normal wear and tear through usage and are therefore covered on all products for two years from installation. These parts will be charged thereafter. Thereafter, such parts are available for purchase through our parts supply service.
